Law enforcement officials are investigating the cause of a vehicular collision that occurred at Razad, Pichelin about 7.30 am on Monday 9th November 2015.

Sergeant Pelham Jno Baptiste of the Police Public Relations Committee told DNO that the collision occurred between Toyota bus registration number HE 704 which is owned and was being driven at the time by Billy Hector of Grand Bay and Toyota car registration PN 694 owned by Lu-Chand Durand and was at the time being driven by Jahnayah Henry of Grand Bay.

The bus was travelling towards Grand Bay and the car was travelling towards Bellevue Chopin when the motor vehicles collided.

“As a result the bus flipped over unto its roof,” Jno Baptiste said.

He said the bus was transporting three teachers and nine students of the Pierre Charles Secondary School.

Two of the three teachers had to be transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Princes Margaret Hospital where they were seen by a doctor and discharged and the other passengers were taken to the Grand Bay Health Center where they were also seen by a doctor and discharged.

He said neither of the drivers were injured

“Investigations are ongoing,” Jno Baptiste noted.

The bus turned over and only minor injuries. They are fortunate there were no fatalities.
Would it have been caused by speeding?
Dominica has had a lot of accidents. I would think that all drivers would take precaution when driving on some hilly and winding roads in Dominica. This also means driving on your side of the road and obey road regulations and courtesy.

Good news that these people were not severely injured! Im wondering if there is a correlation between number of accidents, and corruption. Is time for Roosvelt to go because drivers seem preoccupied and disturbed by the behavior and dealings of this PM and therefor cannot focus well while driving.

A type of accident like that no scan, no x-tray and the people was discharged and further down in life what usually happens is that the body starts deteriorating and complications in all different parts of the body

That Grand Bay route is dangerous. Many accidents have happened along the route over the years. It’s more than time the issue of improving safety on the road be looked at by experts and recommendations implemented.

These bus drivers from Grand Bay drive too fast and reckless plus their music is always so loud. The passengers cannot even talk to them because most of them are very ignorant and aggressive. The drivers have to understand it is people’s lives they have on their hands and not cows for slaughter to be driven to the abattoir and even then you want the cows to get there alive. People when they are too fast , stop the driver and get out, you only have one life.

Is time that the manufacturers put 4 more wheels on the roofs of these vehicles – So they may continue their journey.
