Apparently we were all investigators into this case and those throwing the negative comments were all present to see the incident and even know what the driver was doing and how he was doing it. For someone to actually make a comment saying that this may not have been accident? Ashamed isn’t the word. The passenger died because the vehicle hit an unbolted guard rail which went into the vehicle. One young man died and we’re ready to throw the other under the bus. ? They were friends travelling together and we’re spectators only making judgments

I WAS NOT THE DRIVER,I don’t own the vehicle and i am not involved. when accidents happen steps has to be taken to ensure it does happen again.Lark,of respect, manners and consideration for others users on the road cause life. Putting hands over head does not stop it from happening again. Trying to get a solution to reduce accidents on the road is described as poor comment. Or is it me

    Another one…Sigh.
However, I do not understand how/why he died. It didnt look like he was impaled by the rail, from what I saw..it missed him…even if by a little bit

It is sad, only 20 years and he died in the accident, in such a manner. I assume he was a passenger. One of the passengers is an Augustine.
To his family: My heartfelt sympathy to you. God is with you during this sad time. Be comforted.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!

if the contractor for the post lights did not open up the guard rails to erect the pole mounts the car would have hit on the railings and would not have gotten impaled by it

if they driver wasnt so careless and driving too fast on wet road then there would be no accident ….if if if if if if…if rain wasnt falling they would not hav no accident… if i wasnt born then my mother would have no daughter.. stop looking for excuses.. the rail wheter opened up or not it didnt leave the side and hit the vehicle.. the vehicle left the road and hit the rail.. stop plaing blame game like is the rail that cause the accident

Now the contractor pulled the car unto the rail right?

    • Tell the Facts
      September 7, 2016

The authorities should conduct an investigation. If it is found that the contractor negligently left the guard rails opened, he should be charged. I know if this occurred in Toronto, he would.
The vehicle driver, those injured and the family of the deceased would also sue him and/or the government authorities. In this country people waste no time to sue and for an exorbitant sum. There is too much negligence.

young dude…sad,,that railing must have damaged him…RIP young blood….the driver must have been inexperienced,,on wet roads ..you do not just apply your brakes or attempt to..you will slide further out of control,,especially if you are at a certain speed limit, you have to try to maneuver the vehicle till you come to a controllable stop, and also don’t panic

Well to be quite honest if anyone of you all were present at the seen, you’d realize that the rail was unbolted in order to place a lamp post. Therefore this prevented the guard rails from doing exactly what they were intended to do. Hence why the rail ended up going through the vehicle. But then we’re so quick to pointing fingers. R.I.P to the young boy who lost his life and speedy recovery to the one nursing injuries.

    • Tell the Facts
      September 5, 2016

Some of them think it is fun to drive fast. They think nothing will occur to them. Some are highly mistaken. The police should have given the driver a breathalyzer test.
The Toronto police do not fail to give one. If the driver dies, the autopsy will indicate it. Once the report is out, it is usually stated if the driver was under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs or if it was reckless driving; driving above the speed limit or driving, texting and talking on the cellular.
If the driver is alive and if guilty, charges will be laid. If injured and in the hospital, once he/she is alert, charges will be laid.

It obvious they were speeding, haven’t you seen the pics? the railing went thru the vehicle so thats goes without saying. Mr. Belle has to take on some responsibility for his thoughtless driving. An eye injury can not be compared to a life.

Accidents Happen because of mistakes. The law makes no excuses for ‘MISTAKES’ . If it’s your fault, it’s your fault plain and simple. AND you should be liable to pay! A life was LOST for crying out loud.

This is why Dominican drivers will continue to be reckless on the road. Driving like it’s a one way street and their cars are accident proof. Just be careful DARN IT! Wear your seatbelts and drive like you’ve got a baby on board.

Dominicans stroll everywhere, on the road, at work, even at a hospital. But they’re busy on the road.

How do you know that it was an accident? Were you an eye witness to the incident? And can you explain to me what an accident is? When I was growing up, every toothpaste was called Colgate. Irrespective of the brand, once it\’s used to brush your teeth it\’s \”Colgate.\”

So it is with Dominicans – Once one or two vehicles collide they say it\’s an accident. Someone throw his/her vehicle in a ditch to collect insurance money; they call it an \”accident.\” We are set in one constant mindset that\’s why the psychologist Skeritt keep dumping trash on all you un-noticed.

I agree. I do not see why anyone would get offended about your comment and give you thumbs down.
There could be a possibility of reckless driving or under the influence. There are times drivers could be tired, sleepy or even fallen asleep at the wheel. These could cause accidents.
There are times the police is a bit slow to lay charges and arrests. They take too much time in their investigations especially if they are accidents. We may never hear/read of the outcome of their investigation. What else is new?

This was a terrible accident. The poor young, 20 year-old man. He probably died instantly. It is upsetting to think of it.
It seldom happens that drivers die. Their passengers get the worst of the accidents at a cost of their life and/or injury.
It is high time that drivers take their time to drive. Slow and steady wins the race. Some of them are always in a hurry and for what.
If they want to get to their destination on time and in one piece, they should drive cautiously. What is wrong with some of them? Surely they should know that a life is precious.
They do know that accidents occur. This should be enough to cause them to drive cautiously. Those who have passengers must consider there are other lives to preserve and to ensure their passengers arrive safely.

    • Dixie Normas
      September 5, 2016

every bloody accident for you all is speeding…. a guardrail can impale a vehicle at 38mph.
that night there was some rain and at that speed a vehicle can also slide.

      • Tell the Facts
        September 5, 2016

Drivers should know that the road is slippery when wet. This means they must drive cautiously and especially when turning around a bend.
Now a young man lost his life. His life, his future are snuffed out. His family are left to mourn his loss.
It is said that the majority of accidents could be avoided.

      • Dominican
        September 6, 2016

the guard rail did not pull the vehicle then pierce it to impale the guy. The vehicle had to be at a high speed for all that to happen. Put the blame where it is even if is your people

    • September 5, 2016

how you so sure speeding was the cause? the police have not rule it was.

      • Da massive
        September 5, 2016

Even a baby would know speeding played a major role in this accident. It appears the guard rail almost went through the entire vehicle which means they were at least 100 kph. Young ppl always in a hurry to go no where. Death by dangerous driving. I hope the driver learns from this
