Police have launched an investigation into the death of Derrick Bazil of Wesley.

The 37-year-old man’s body was found on the Woodfordhill Beach on September 2 at around 6:30 am.

He was pronounced officially dead by Dr. Diana Baron at the Marigot Hospital, according to police PRO, ASP Claude Weekes.

A coroner’s inquest on the death of Bazil, also known as Bolo, will be convened and a post mortem will follow, Weekes said.

ONCE AGAIN: The body was NOT found on Woodford Hill Beach. It was found on another beach called L’Ance Torti or Turtle Bay.

There are big waves there and the body was awash where the waves land on the beach. This is why the body was dragged out of the waves. Contrary to what one commentator wrote, there is NO motorable access to Turtle Bay. Just noting for public information.
