Six people were injured in a three-vehicle traffic collision which occurred on the E.O Leblanc Highway in the vicinity of the National Petroleum Petrol Station at Canefield on Thursday morning.
Police PRO, Inspector John Carbon, said the incident involved Toyota car with registration number PJ797 driven by Kattisha Ferreira, Honda CRV registration number PG 304 driven by Jefferson George of Jimmit which were travelling westwards and a Nissan bus, registration number HB 855, driven by Wayne Williams of Canefield East.
The bus was travelling eastwards.
Inspector Carbon said the accident occurred when George attempted to avoid colliding with the Toyota but eventually ran it’s rear end and his vehicle in turn collided with the bus, which was extensively damaged.
The six persons who were injured included George and Williams, who was trapped in his seat. He was later removed by personnel of the Fire and Ambulances Services.
All the injured were transported to the Princess Margaret Hospital where they were treated and discharged.
Investigations are continuing, Inspector Carbon said.
