A woman who went missing in Guadeloupe after flood waters associated with Tropical Storm Rafael swept away in her car has been found dead.
The body of Edith Lami was found in the Marigot area of the St. Louis River on Tuesday morning.
The dead woman was taken to the General Hospital in the French island for an autopsy.
The woman was reportedly attempting to cross the St. Louis River in Matouba, Saint-Claude last Saturday in her car when it was swept away.
The car, with her purse and some clothes, were later found in the river but it took authorities several days to locate her body.
Rafael dumped several inches of rain on Guadeloupe and several areas of the island were flooded.
sorry for the familes loss
It’s better to allow the river to calm down before crossing. It’s never a good thing to cross whilst the river is high, I guess she was anxious and afraid. OMG. May her family find comfort knowing that she was concerned about them, and may her soul R.I.P.
bt u all dont read or u jus cant understand.. the lady was found dead allu tlking bout allu hoe they find her alive smh..condolences to her fam R.IP
As you can see the story is updated. The story MAY have read that she was missing at first, and then when she was found dead the story was amended. Do your homework FIRST b4 criticizing.
but poonks, who say about alive???????
SO SAD TO HEAR THAT
Poor lady! I visualize what she went through trying to save herself from the water and when the end came. If only she knew she would not venture to cross the river in bad weather. Rivers are not to be trusted. On a normal day without warning they could overflow; worst yet during a storm.
May her soul rest in peace.
May God bless and strengthen her family to cope with her sudden passing.
so sad
Sorry to hear that she had two kids, hot sun am afraid of that bridge much less for when its raining I guess she really wanted to go home and risked her life
Pple read and understand, omg “has been fond dead”and taken to hospital for an autopsy,,
this is so sad my condolences to the family!
It is very sad to hear .may god help them to find her even she is dead or alive
its always wise to say a prayer and seek God’s favor before leaving home …always pray for God’s covering cuz we need to be ready at all time
Cynical what are u really saying, that if you pray and god decides he ready for you that will not happen again? Is that what you saying, or if you pray before u leave and dies you will definitely go heaven because you prayed?
I only hope the lady jumped out of the car and is safely awaiting rescue!!
@ Joe
There is a lot you do not know about God. You lack godly enlightenment. You are the one who is cynical.
Never underestimate our God for He is God and everything is subject to him and under him. With a prayer and a hymn in one’s heart.
Faith, hope and trust in God. If she prayed and God decided to take her, so be it. He holds the key to life and death. Know that, because of her prayers, calling on him in time of need, He will save her for eternity. When she was drowning, she may have asked him for forgiveness and mercy.
Many people have testified that during a disaster, God protected and assisted them through prayers, even those who may not recognize and worship God. When they are in danger, it is then they know God; likewise when they are aged, sick and dying, this is when they know God, remember him and ask him for forgiveness and mercy. We are all God’s children. He knows what to do and He knows when.
Joe, u must lean to read. u too judgmental. what she is saying that in terms u will understand. u must pray and repent daily because u know neither the day nor de hour. u understannnnnnnd?
Truly sad. Hope she is found alive.
Did you all read the news before you all post you all comments??? I don’t think you all take the time to read the update. SHE IS FOUND DEAD:-) :-) .
Observer, The comment was posted before DNO updated the article to say she was found dead. Idiot!
no name? was she dominican?
sorry but she will not be alive !
wel i live in gwada and we really had it very hard here, as i write we have to water and what dno fof got so say is that the lighting cut to houes on fire even i was rainging alot ! we that alot of sun tday
Sorry. I didn’t understand what you said.
@ Englishman
Patience! It is a godly virtue. As the saying, “Take time to do good.” I learned this since elementary school. You are not the only English person who knows English. I read the comment twice and this is what the person meant: Well, I live in Guadeloupe. We really had it hard here. As I write we have no water and what DNO forgot to say the lightning cut two houses on fire even if it was raining a lot. We had a lot of sun today.
The person stated ‘although it was raining a lot, the lightning strike two houses and they caught on fire’, words to that effect.
Wherever we reside in the world, we are accustomed to bad weather, rain, high winds, thunder and lightning, should comprehend this.
maybe if she said it in french, englishman will understand. cant u see that the person is not too fluent in the english language. For God’s sake stop criticizing people.
Sorry to hear.Hope she is found safely. I urge the family to stay strong and we’ll all keep praying for a safe rescue.
wow! This is sad. I pray for peace and strength for her family and I pray too that she will be found, dead or alive. This will bring much comfort and relief for her family.
