SCARBOROUGH, Tobago, Friday August 12, 2011 – The ANR Robinson International Airport in Tobago was closed last night and an investigation launched after a Virgin Atlantic aircraft entered a closed section of the taxiway and blew a tyre.
None of the 452 passengers and 16 crew members on board the flight, VS 52, was hurt in the mishap.
The accident occurred around 7:25 pm when the Boeing 747-400, which was about to depart for Gatwick, London, entered a section of the airport that was undergoing repairs and closed for construction. The plane was immobilized as a result.
Yes all facts right I was actually on the plane, the question is why did the pilot drive into a ditch and blow some tyres apparently all 18 had to be replaced, we were delayed 48 hours!
WHY WAS THE PLANE ALLOW TO ENTER THAT SECTION IN THE FIRST PLACE?
i has been more than a little while.their runway is almost 10 000 feet if not more..so yeah they can accommodate those heavy aircrafts
Pax? And what’s that ment to mean exactly?
that’s the airline industry term for passenger
Tobago can accomodate 747 WOW
it has been a little while now actually
Tobago is part of Trinidad. That’s nothing when you got money you can make enough flat land to accommodate anything. Money is not an issue over there.
