The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is currently engaged in the process of implementing a project entitled “the establishment of a National Parks Service” for Dominica.
Director of Forestry Division Ronald Charles said the main objective of the project is to prepare for the complete dislocation of the current National Parks Unit from the Forestry, Wildlife and Parks Division so that by the end of the project what is currently a National Parks Unit within the Forestry Division, will become a fully operational National Parks Service, complete with a full complement of staff, supporting legislation and other resources.
“The project is divided into two phases. The first phase involves setting up of the legislative framework and the second involves the institutionalization of the parks service. In order for all this to become a reality certain protocol and processes must be adhered to,” he said.

the question is …. how many more years is it going to take ?
When all is said and done, then we will have Park Police stationed in parks for the safety of its users.
Long overdue. Good move.
