Ambrose George hopes for peaceful end to Venezuela crisis

Ambassador George presenting his credentials to President Maduro

Newly appointed non-resident ambassador of Dominica to Venezuela, Ambrose George, is hoping that the political crisis which has engulfed the Spanish-speaking country will be resolved in a peaceful and amicable manner.

George’s appointment came at a time when embattled Venezuelan president, Nicholas Maduro, is becoming increasingly isolated and is being recognized by only a handful but powerful group of nations while the United States, the EU, Canada, and others countries have thrown their support behind self-appointed interim president Juan Guaido.
Speaking to Kairi FM, George said he hopes that all parties in the crisis will come to the table and deal with the situation in a very amicable and peaceful way.
“One has to respect the sovereignty of a nation; one has to respect the rights of the people to self determination,” he said.
One of the major sticking points in the Venezuela crisis is the re-election of Maduro to a second term as president. The poll, which took place in May 2018, was internationally criticized as illegitimate since it was  marred by an opposition boycott and vote-rigging claims.
But according to George, the election was held “democratically.”
“And therefore, there is legitimacy in the government and the people of the country,” he noted. “So I sense the common sense will prevail and we will see a peaceful resolution. I cannot see it will happen tomorrow or next year, as the case may be but I am of the view that the situation given as it is being put forward and I believe strongly that it can be resolved.”
George also said that his appointment is a sign of the good relationship between Dominica and Venezuela.
“It’s going to be a continuation of mutual cooperation between our two countries,” he stated. “It’s going to be one where we respect each other’s sovereignty, it’s going to be one where we in fact believe in self determination and therefore, I can only envisage our relationship growing from strength to strength.”

Oh politic…politics……oh how I thank God that I don’t get drown into it. Some of these right-side/left-side comments are just mind bugging. In my professional experience nothing is right/wrong all the time. Politics results in blindness no matter what side you chose to be on. Neutrality is tasking and unaccepted by most. Let’s all strive to be the best leaders/providers in our households for its up to us in this regards no matter the incumbent color. Its high time that we put ourselves/family first and only then work back forwards.

Nature Boy, I welcome your comments and its touching and hope that all those who read it will take it for wats its worth. We have to go to the bottom the issues as to why we are where we are today under Skerrit’s failed and corrupt .government. This matter of concern has Dominicans all over the place due to one failed PM and his incompetent corrupt labour government. We Dominicans , in Dominica or overseas, need the best for our people, families. Dominica is a stets of depression and we have bind supporters i denial who are pushing Skerrit into this doomed concept of something is happening. After 18 years our people are suffering and starving and have no jobs. So nature Boy, if a government has failed after 18 years with no socio-economic Develpoment, what do you expect the people of Dominica to do. Where I sit and work I can tell you that this government is a failure, immature, corrupt with false promises. We are fedup, even my colleagues within the government are fedup. Skerrit Out.

The only part of this article that truly caught my attention were the quotes from Ambrose speaking about sovereignty of a Nation, democratic election and the rights of the people. This made me want to cry for the wickedness and absurdity in these statements. In a Nation where an estimated 80% of the population is against what they claim is an illegitimate President, Ambrose claims that a rigged and stolen election was “democratic”. He compounds his statement by saying respect the rights of a starving people which translates to “the people voted overwhelmingly for Maduro”. Dominicans do you see the position your Government is taking on this? Stolen elections are the right of the people and are democratic. The people love poverty and starvation. Five more years…we won’t ask for it we can simply steal it… it’s what the people want. Incredible!!!!!

First of all Ambrose needs to tell us if that mutual cooperation he spoke about is going to be between Dominica and Venezuela or, between Skerrit and Maduro? Well it is clear that Maduro will very soon be the out going president. Not only that but Maduro will have to answer some very serious questions as to what he did with the riches of the people of Venezuela. As seen in the ongoing case of the former PM of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr, Denzil Douglas, where Roosevelt Skerrit is a witness, expect that same Roosevelt Skerrit to be a very serious witness in the Maduro case. Let’s not forget that Dominica and Venezuela made world news when Venezuela went to the UN to inform the world that the had cancelled Dominica debt of more than US$100 million dollars. We only got to know that because the announcement was made. What about what was not announced? Interestingly you know who made the UN announcement? Jorge Arreaza a special friend and person in the life of Skerrit. Stay WOKE Dominica

This is the sign of pure desperation from the DLP Gov’t. Well again they choose this guy in a time when money needs to be transported around from one place to the next. Let’s not forget that it was just on Monday 4 Feb that Portugal refused to release 1.4 Billion $ of Venezuela money to Maduro. So right about now they need all the help from movers that they can get, if you know what I mean as far as our new Ambassador is concerned. He has prior knowledge in that feild. HHMMM!

You are not an ambassador because Venezuela does not have a government. You just side in your speech hope they come to a peaceful end . He has to go just like our PM has to go and you are not or was never n ambassador to Venezuela.

Ambrose George should not have a say. Isnt he the same man who was caught in America wwith Julian Giraud and got away because of his diplomatic immunity as a government minister? He has resurfaced!!!! When will Skerritt and the labor party show some respect t for Dominica and Dominicans? Has his money run out so he is being brought back for a “top up”? Dominica is stifling. The Mikey called labor needs to get off its back.

What defines a peaceful end, is for the dictator Maduro to concede and allow free and fair elections so the people of Venezuela can choose their leader. They have suffered ENOUGH.

Boy you see that rush to appoint Ambrose as Ambassador to Venezuela? This is a time when Venezuelans are hungry and desperate and a time when the writing on the wall CLEARLY reads: Maduro, Skerrit’s friend MUST GO! Now I will not pay any attention to what Ambrose George says until he tells us where the bank he was looking for was located and why did that same Skerit FIRE him as government minister. But people of Dominica, the Iron is very hot and things are falling apart in Venezuela very quickly. Skerrit can try all tricks in his books to see how he can confused the people of Dominica but that will not work! Here is a FACT Skerrit knows that most of you don’t know: He knows is not a matter of IF Maduro will fall but rather, it’s when will he fall. Here is another fact Skerrit knows: he knows there will be serious investigation into the dealings and corruption of Maduro and when questions are asked, Skerrit, Dominica and the DLP will have to answer. No wonder Skerrit Moomoo these…

But Mr. George. Why be a non-resident ambassador? You should reside within Venezuela to report back the truths of the reality and the stuggle of the Venezuela people. Dominica sold for $100 million US.
    Cheap!!

I guess Skerrit sent him on this mission to prove to Maduro that he would stick with him through thick and thin. Never mind the humanitarian crisis going on down there at this time. It’s a sovereign nation so if the people starving and dying it does not matter because the are there own country. SMH.

As for the twice disgraced Ambrose…. he cannot very well say that election was not democratically held when he know jolly well that his people doing the same underhanded things here in Dominica.

“Maduro, is becoming increasingly isolated and is being recognized by only a handful but powerful group of nations”

Is this another joke of the century?

Which are the handful of powerful nations nations recognizing Venezuela and Maduro? Russia is behind the dictator, hoping the tons of gold they want to smuggle out of Venezuela will become Russian property, if the ALBA nations to which Dominica is one of its tentacles, the idea that a group of powerful  nations recognized Maduro is laughable!

The man who declared himself president of Venezuela is now recognized by all the major powers on the planet except Russia; let us not pretend that n quote above is nothing more than false political propaganda, Maduro is simply trying to hang on by the skin of his teeth.

If Ambrose  and Roosevelt believe by the time there is the dictator will remain president of Venezuela, they need to some more efficient headlights, since it seems their vision are impeded by cataracts!

    Hence,…

Ambruise Pwen Couwee….Why can’t you just keep quiet? Just imagine a regime appoints you as ambassador! What a regime!!!!The Venezuelan election was corruption infested . Maduro is a despot and he rules despotically..Opposition members were harrassed, teargassed, taken to court and jailed. Is the pattern similar in Dominica,Ambruise Pwen Couwee? You are lying like Skerrit,so stop taking communion on a Sunday. It need to choke you!!Opposition members were exiled and killed. How can such an election be above board? You are so used to unfair elections in Dominica, that this is nothing to you,Ambruise Pwen Couwee..
