Minister for Housing and Water Resource Management, Reginald Austrie, is encouraging persons who have been waiting for assistance for home renovation to be patient.

Speaking at the handing over of six apartments in Silver Lake on Friday, Austrie said that their wait is almost over.

“We have also in this year’s budget, put in 10 million and that is to go towards the construction of low income houses, for the actual construction of homes in the designated areas based on the criteria that will be set over the next couple weeks and couple days,” he said.”I can say to you that we have already received in the ministry of housing EC$ 5 Million with we now just waiting for instructions as to how to have it disbursed, and EC$ 2 Million for home renovation.”

He continued, “So those people who come to us every Wednesday and meet us on the street and ask us about your LPO’s and your invoices I can say to you just be patient, we have the money and very shortly we will be paying some attention to those of you who have been waiting. And I know some of us have been waiting long, but we cannot do it all in one week, in one month, in one day and so we need time.”

The DLP would also require more time in government, according to the minister, in order to continue the housing revolution.

“And the plans we have to continue the housing revolution will be asking you for additional five or ten years in government to so we can fully execute our plan in bringing decent housing  to every single Dominica in every part of the country,” he argued.

I witnessed one of the most despicable acts committed against our indigenous people when i saw the Parl. Rep of the Carib Territory and his replacement personally distributing building materials to persons in that area. Their intentions were clear as the daylight in which they were doing that. The question remains have our people allowed themselves to return to the dark ages or have we never left there? Is it acceptable for our politicians to go around every time election comes around distributing building materials as a reward for our votes. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Regie Austrie and c/o just for once place yourselves in the shoes of those people that you are so proud to demean; “CONSCIENCE” just another word

I have to feel sorry for my fellow Dominicans that are presently living in Dominica. After all these years, why is the Labor party trying to buy votes by promising new houses and house repairs.? I met a young lady from Anguila a few months ago and she said to me “I did not know that Dominincans were so illiterate. I asked her why and she said that she saw a documentary on Dominica and they were saying that most Dominicans are very illiterate.

I know Dominicans to be very intelligent and hard working people but based on how this present government is treating them, they are now considered lazy and uneducated.

Dominicans must stop letting the rest of the world seem them as stupid, by constantly falling for the lies and promises made by this present administration, so that they can be re elected into POWER! These things that are going on in Dominica, could not be happening anywhere else in the civilized world. Where did they suddenly get all this money? Why is it on the eve of elections they know that peoples’ houses need repairs?

These polititions need to take a good look as to what is happening around the world; they need to pay attention to all the government ministers that are going to jail for corruption and other illigal activities.

Presently Dominicans are behaving as if they were given sleeping pills which left them dazed for the past 14 years but it is time for them to wake up, time to put a stop to this madness. These handouts they are giving to you all is to keep you in bondage. You don’t owe them anything, they owe you, so rise up and be men and women your island, your children and the rest of the world can be proud of. Don’t let them continue to make healthy beggars out of you.

RISE UP DOMINICANS AND TAKE A STAND AGAINST ALL THIS CORRUPTION ONCE AND FOR ALL.

That is pure wickedness…how can you allocate $10 million dollars to fix people houses and civil servants cannot get a decent salary increase? This is all about catch-a-vote…This is so unfair.
