Need to now get your website and social media profile up and running so that people that are online, can connect. This way, you can reach this community quickly to help spread messages of hope. All parties need to have better websites in my opinion.

Is there a fugitive from American justice within the leadership of the DFP? Just asking. Remember the strenuos efforts that are ongoing to woo America to black list PM Skerrit and to arrest him on trumped charges of money laundering. So far its only talk, speculation, assumptions, allegations and fake news. Is there a wanted man within the leadership?

Just asking,is the Freedom Party in another alliance with Labour Party to try and keep the UWP out of government and deny the Dominican people good governance.I sincerely hope not.If the Freedom Party is going to get back it’s supporters who strengthened Labour, thus weakening the Labour Party, then good, otherwise the Dominican people will especially those in the UWP will view this impetus by Freedom Party with scepticism, given the timing.Freedom Party is partially to blame for the morass that Dominica is in because they are the ones who went to bed with the devil,Now that the UWP has Skerritt and his Labour party on their heels, Freedom Party needs to help cleanse the country and restore it’s dignity by helping remove Skerritt not making it easier for Labour party to be returned to power.Timing is everything

I believe that it is too late before this election. I am a Freedomite since the days of MAMO. but it is too late to now try and contest the next election and expect any real results. right now it is a mad scramble to get DLP out so the opposers are trying all tricks and strategies. MY FREEDOMITES, we need to go back to basics and begin to work in our respective communities. Let the people see that we are here and we have a plan, for our respective communities and constituencies and we are executing regardless of who is in power. Mr. Vidal, i would love to meet with you and express some concerns about strategies to have a good standing in the elections after the next one upcoming. right now i think it is just way too late for DFP this round. but you can always begin the work and have the people see and feel the presense of the party. And i dont mean just drive around the country and hold rallies. I mean bring your cutlass and fork and trucks and start to do work .

DNO are you updating the story on UWP delegation invited to China or just pulled it for missing info?

Admin: There seemed to have been some technical glitch. It was not deliberately pulled. It has since been restored.

Admin: could you ask UWP how they got the money for the trip? By the way, 5 black men in China, is not a good idea. They really dislike blacks there…. really.

I don’t know what the electors were thinking or looking at when they elected Mr. Vital as the leader of DFP. When you select a potential P.M , you have to think that this person will represent us in every leadership forum all over the world, not just his education and experience you should take into account.
I do not want to tell a man how to carry his natural-ness but , Mr. Vital needs to cut his hair , to put it frankly.

    • Mr. Ben Dover
      August 10, 2017

Your hair is a natural extension of you. Why must he cut it? Why would you not respect him as much just because he has long hair which you dont like apparently? does his hair make his message and his work any less valuable? His vision and actions and how they affect Dominica will not be different if he cuts his hair. I would more respect his corn rows than the mop that is on donald trump’s head. or the weave that so many women prefer to wear because it is his. I can respect a man who decides to grow his hair and maintain more than a man who cuts it because it takes dedication and strength to do so and survive and be successful here in dominica simply because of people like you who fight and discriminate against young upstanding men who decide to grow their hair. In essence you are discriminating.

    August 8, 2017

Sorry, this has nothing to do with this story, but gust got wind of this.

    Heads-up! New market crash!

New name for American packaged toxic securities: CLO collateral loan obligations. CLO’s are given false credit ratings of AAA.
Individual Caribbean Countries Banks do not have enough money to buy large amounts of American Securities. The American bankers want Caribbean banks to come together under one bank so that they can sell it large amounts of packaged toxic securities. They will bribe any and as many heads of the Caribbean and the banks to achieve this. Be warned!!!

What will be the explanation for the need to do this? You will see it will not be in the interest of the account holders at the banks, or the countries people.

Congratulations Kent. To win an election now in Dominica you must have millions and millions of Dollars. There is a moral crisis in Dominica, that even religious leaders condone. What you and i grew up knowing to be wrong is now right. To win you have to beat them at their own game, can you lie more, can you bring in illegal voters from overseas, can you bribe people? Kent based on how you was raised, i know you can’t.

First impression is the best of all; nevertheless, it appears to me that some people may believe putting their worst foot out will propel them the some sort of glory.

It seems to me that everything, and anything goes in Dominica. The first impression of the new leader of the DFP makes me want to disgorge what I had for dinner last night.

The appearance of Vital is simply disgusting, why would anybody take that guy seriously and vote for him; or his party: no wonder Dominica is the joke of not only the Caribbean, but the rest of the world!

As for Same Christian, the man seems to be self destructing. Sometimes the behavior of man can cause him to become his worst enemy, wright now view Sam as a destitute political player grabbing one to nothing more than smoke blown by the wind! Sorry Sam you degraded your person when you took that handshake from Skerrit; any respect Dominicans had for you have blown away like tumbleweeds in a storm.

    August 7, 2017

Freedom helped organise an ‘all white’ protest against the diplomatic passport scandal. Everyone was invited. Freedom did not promote green. They went out of the way to attract people not interested in politics, even some conscientious Labourites.

Freedom speakers, Astaphan’s, Boston & Christian were all gone at the agreed upon 4pm end of the Feb 7 protest. One of them asked protesters to kneel as he led with Lords prayer. Lennox then took over. Everything afterward was a blue Workers gig. DNO records clearly show Freedom was the very first call for a swift peaceful end to the disturbance.

Since then, Freedom has refused to associate with further Workers actions. It was a mistake to collaborate with Lennox. This new Freedom leadership marks a turning point for Dominica. Today, many patriots across the board hail this trustworthy partner in the struggle against Skerrit abuses and mismanagement.

The Freedom Party has always been there, except that it was hijacked by a greed driven, opportunistic faction in the 90s, referred to then as ‘The Disgruntled Freedomites’ aka UWP. The other hard working, people oriented faction assimilated into the DLP. In 1995, the greedy faction won the election but soon started fighting among themselves for the leadership. That gave the DLP every opportunity to consolidate and to be the party of choice up to the present. To come talking about Freedom is back is a big joke, because the ‘Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing’ Freedom Party is well and alive, and unless they change their greedy, opportunistic outlook they will not gain the people’s confidence to have them form the government.

Freedom was a waste of time, don’t make the Dame seem so great she really wasn’t.
She loved and helped her own and not the whole country like our current Prime Minister does, she killed the Canefield stadium, a great avenue for youth and country
And then she invented the “bofa”, Dominica’s version of the upper class, that dead now
Before she came in a student on scholarship could obtain a new geometry set anytime his was damaged, as soon as she got in she limited it to one for for years
i can go on and n critically dissecting the misdeeds and mishaps of the great freedom party but i will hold my tongue

A resurgent Freedom party have Labour really seeing red. Many crossover Freedomites are only too happy with the corruption to ever leave Labour. However many more have long expressed the desire to come home once the party showed it was serious about standing up against Skerrit Saverin abuses.

That time has come. They are joined by an increasing tickle of Workers frustrated with prospects for their Party. Many voters who used to see politics as dirty are taking notice. Whatever happens, it’s going to be exciting! Keep a close eye on Vital & Christian. They offer blessed hope for Dominica.

My analysis on the move is different. Sam realized to continue associating his political debut with Lennox Linton will result in a total failure. So he is now on target to completely cutting off the legs of the UWP chances of winning a general election. Samuel knows very well if the DFP is back as political party, Roseau North, Central and South will vote Freedom. Which means that the UWP chances of winning is out. The question is, what will be the content of the DFP message that will draw the voters to their ballot box? We shall see. Having said all that. In the event, even if the DFP and UWP win 9 constituencies combine, base on the Dominica voters choice, the DLP will still win the next general election.

The only Dominicans who want and is trying to see good come to DA are on the outside but we continue to fight for the kind of changes we all need.

What should freedom apologize for? In 2000 they joined a DLP govt under the leadership of Rose Douglas and Pierre Charles. Who could have foreseen their unfortunate early ends? The DFP rightly removed the corrupt UWP govt of Earl Willaims, Julius Timothy and Edison James. People have a selective memory but where are those men today? People have forgotten the lies they made of Euginua bugging issue?

DFP has nothing to apologize for, and to do so, well is just wasting time and money cuz they will not be reviving the party that way. For the revival to be successful then they must be a truly independent party with the aim of at least being the main opposition post 2020. Cuz when DLP wins in 2019, workers fini batt.

@Bro I think you are the one suffering from senility, and not Dominicans. A senior Counsel was given the job to investigate corruption under the UWP, and he had to abandon the process, because HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. Dominicans don’t want to allow themselves the opportunity to try new things or even new ideas We can so much better than we are and to those who are trying we the people cut them down, we are good at distrying our own future.

Currently UWP are the only alternative to this corrupt Labour party. DFP has a lot of work to come back as a visible active party. They need not rush, but take time to rebuild, not rush to be in power. Their resources, candidates, funds are still very small and putting Dominica first, before people and before party is the right way to go. The big sore/obstacle is Skerrit & his corrupt Labour government, and with a well established Opposition, a formidable leader and great Team, we put Dominica first. I suspect when election time comes about, that is how the DFP will see things, in the interest of Dominica first.
Freedom has a long way to go to attract new members who are visible and this, if happening, is very slow and non-visible.
Dominica is first, offer the people of Dominica that alternative in the UWP, who are well established. The DFP are aware of this. The UWP have been working hard with a great honourable reputation.

How can we be taken seriously? A party leader presenting himself as a suspect rather than a prospect!!!Are the individuals who elected Vital to that position serious? Which potential country leader would be taken seriously with Mr Vitals presentation? I can’t believe that we are serious in Dominica. Given these two men as the choice extended to the DFP for leadership, the choice should be clear. Mr Vital must understand that when one meets him the first thing that is seen is his presentation, how he presents himself!! We have been told that a picture is a thousand words and that in communication more that 60% of what is heard is the visual, yet in 2017 the DFP has shown scant regard for Dominica nad its future by electing Mr ‘Congo-row’ Vital as a prospective Prime Minister of Dominica.

Let us be serious, will some one whisper in Mr Vitals ear that unless he cleans up his image he cannot be expected to be taken seriously regionally or internationally. We need to do better!!!!

I felt the same way when I saw his picture as leader of DFP. He looks like a radical. One look at him is not my idea of a leader/future prime minister of Dominica. He will have to dress better than that. This is, to be better groomed, his hair and all.
Prime ministers travel and meet other dignitaries. They also visit each other. They should have respect for each other. Note how well-groomed they are. Hope he decides to change his type of apparel and hairdo and dress becomingly as a political party leader.
People are free to dress and look as they please but they must consider their position and if per chance they become a PM; even a leader for that matter.
Frankly, I am not enthused by a leader, a pm who looks as he does. They must consider who they will be meeting, communicating with, conducting business with and must look their best, as a well-groomed gentleman in this case. Otherwise they will not impress those dignitaries as a leader or PM.

That is why Dominica will continue to go no where. If you are judging someone’s ability to lead based on looks and on one picture then clearly you are not ready yet. I do not personally know the man but from what I just read he is a qualified economist who has worked regionally so I would think he knows how to present himself professionally . Why shouldn’t be the man be taken seriously ?We all are entitled to our views but I find Dominicans like to bash people unnecessarily and we can come across as very petty.

By the way it does not take more than two minute to cut off “congo rows” so lets try to encourage people instead of attacking .

Mr. Vital seems to be wearing dreadlocks, not corn rows. another example of presumptions and assumptions. Not let us be really serious. would you ostracize a well meaning capable educated and skilled person and choose someone else simply because he chooses to wear corn rows? IT is a shame that you must still compromise your image to suit that of others in order to be taken seriously. lets just say he is elected PM and turns the country around and we become top in the region. people like you would hate on him because he doesnt cut his hair like a nice little boy like how you prefer to see him. This to me shows strength and integrity as it is people like you who fought those in the 70’s who refused to cut their hair because they didnt mean your own European egocentric standards. Why cant we have a PM or a leader with Dreadlocks or who chooses not to cut his hair? You are the same fools who read your European bible and make mention of sampson and admire his strength, not noting his…

So far the Team Looks very good and I heard of some key Government employees who are planning on coming onboard with the DFP.
Look out Skero might be attacking soon.

The electoral college (political party representatives) elect the president of the US, not the people of the country.

The for that to happen why don’t you ask the real question you have why not Sam, and if doctor didn’t want to run for leadership he shouldn’t put his name in the hat. DFP is long forgotten so trying to come back should be top level .

I am not fearful of the UWP, they have been honourable, fearless and have openly taught us and demonstrated what good governance is. Their leader, Hon Linton is formidable and on their way to China, at the invitation of the Chinese government. That feat has been earned and people, locally, regionally and now internationally have seen the value, strength and respect for Hon. Linton.
Dominica needs serious stable government like Now, and that is where it is, in the Opposition UWP who has performed exceptionally high as the Opposition in parliament. They have earned that respect and recognition.

      team Dominica , god luck

The second comments. Is the person trying to refer to the PM as the devil. I think this is talking it too far. I do not support anyone referring to the Pm or Mr Linton or the leader of the DFP.as a Devil.

Let’s not go that far because God is watching and listening

      Greetings mr. Peeping,
Do U think that GOD don’t know who is LUCIFER and NAPOLION and who is MICHAEL and GABRIEL? well he knows,
U remember the FIRE of CHRISTMAS morning 2010 up at St. Aromant at the home of the Emmanuels which destroyed their PROPERTIES, WELL GOD SAW WHO DID IT, according to Proverbs 15:3 which tells us, the EYES of the LORD are in every PLACE beholding the EVIL and the GOOD
so we all knows who are the LUCIFERS and the APOLIONS , they are seating on the THRONE while MICHAEL and GABRIEL are struggling on the LADDER

No one should refer to anyone as the devil. It could be said if they think others are devils, they should consider themselves as one.
God knows the good ones and the bad ones. No one has the capability of reading hearts. Only God can.
There is one devil. One could act as one but in this case they are not and should refrain from calling them devils. It is totally wrong and downright offensive to God and to them.

    August 6, 2017

Where can the DLP come out first or second? I am an old Freedomite but for now the party and good supporters of the former DFP just needs to swallow their pride and work with the opposition to get rid of that devil that seems to have plagued our beautiful country. We voted with our enemy DLP in 1999, to get rid of the UWP, which was far less corrupt than the Skerrit DLP, but unfortunately it worked against our country and killed our party. In fact in 1999, we won Colihault and Soufriere but we delivered both to Skerrit, like Esau did to Jacob and from that point Skerrit and Chalo killed our party. We now need to join with the opposition to see if we can deliver DOMINICA from our oppressor, Roosevelt Skerrit and the DLP. So I call on all true laborites that are not voting and those voting the DLP to join get Skerrit out for conscience sake. DA is in a big mess and it’s time to take one for the country.

You are asking me to join you and others to get rid of Skerrit and put back the people who messed up Dominica from 1995. You must be joking . You want me to go back to the days of the Venture capital fund, deducting Social Security from my salary and not paying it to DSS. Disbanding DBMC to to get rid of Scotland. When bounce check was meeting bounce check instead of Money meeting money and to top all of this accepting 4 plus million dollars on the promise to sell diplomatic passport and with all this in the air not a word from Edison James one of the two leaders who went to Zurich? Man if you know what good for you take a hike and skerrit not going nowhere but to lead the country for five more years at the next election. If you say joining with labour was bad then I submit joining with UWP is even worse. TI way boyu mate pye.

A true Laborite does not vote for Skeritt, he votes Party. DLP is not a club; it’s an institution founded on a mission of universal egalitarianism .So those who do not know the history and origin of the Labor Party need first to defend their primary motivation for membership. The cross -sectional make up of the DLP is identical to the UWP – the Lumpenproletariat as CLR James would have described it. Unlike the DFP that chose to conserve patrician elitism in a country where fewer than ten might be considered wealthy, the mission of the DLP is never fulfilled and will never in purpose yield to the Epicurean ideology of the UWP while evidence of social transformation blossoms everywhere.

Are you really stating that the UWP have an ideology? Let’s get real … they have none. They have become obsessed with Roosevelt Skerritt that they are prepared to destroy the entire country to get in power. Hopefully, we are seeing a rebirth of the DFP and the disappearance of these wicked souls.

Winston, can you please break this down, elaborate and put in simple actions that the ordinary people are able to comprehend. This is not a thesis for university presentation, this is reality of pain and suffering in Dominica by a corrupt Labour government and failed immature PM, who is Skerrit, and remember, he must Go. Skerrit must Go.

I seriously and honestly concur with this sentiments. Currently the DFP does not have a visible and strong following. Our country is in a mess and we must find a strategy to brig our politics to some level of stability, honesty and decency. With the honesty and aggressiveness of the UWP as opposition represented by a strong and powerful leader of the Opposition Hon. Linton with a reliable and strong team that momentum must be maintained and supportive in any way. The DFP must look closely at the political and voting climate in Dominica and ensure that the Skerrit led corrupt labour government/gang must be removed at all costs meaning not have too many parties contesting, but strategically examine the political climate out there and give support to the UWP for the sake of Dominica. The PPOD (NY based) wait: Yes the DFP must rebuild after this corrupt Labour regime has fallen and we get rid of this inept immature questionable Skerrit from office. They have killed, ruined & hurt Dominica.

Now you putting a rasta man to lead freedom they more dead now

Who is going to apologize to the people of Dominica for putting the DFP on their backs for 15 years with very little progress to show for those years? Who is going to apologize to Dominica for putting the UWP on their backs for 5 years, that left Dominica saddled with debt and financial corruption. Are you saying that no political party in Dominica is worthy of governing this country?

That’s a really nice shirt I must say stating “freedom is back” but are they really? It’s not only about being back but being back as a recognizable force. With so many freedomites regrettably crossing the bridge of GREEN pastures to the RED slavery blood thirsty notorious cbi funded DLP, I really wonder if you guys have any meaningful voting muscle left in the land. “We need to take them out at all cost” according to the iron woman of great steel. Now the gainfully employed nep stipend earners are singing “across the bridge there’s so much trouble, across the bridge there’s so much pain, the sun won’t shine across that river, and we’ll always be unhappy again” ??? ??? @Faceup – UWP dead? Which UWP? Is it the UWP that was so strong that it beat Labour & Freedom in the 1995 elections?

Is it the same UWP that Labour & Freedom had to gang up against in a coalition in order to remove it in the 2000 elections?

Is it the same UWP that the Labour party has had to rely so heavily on Freedom & overseas votes in the 2005, 2009 & 2014 elections inorder to win?

Hmmmmmmm…………well that UWP dere is something else papa. If in its death that UWP is so strong, wha go happen when that UWP switches to ALIVE mode via resurrection – since you claim it is dead or in a state of ‘deading’?

On a side note, in the course of time, it may very well turn out that the two main parties in Dominica will be UWP and Freedom after Skerrit completes the destruction of the Labour party.
