KFC the leading Quick Services Restaurant in Dominica is giving back to the community by launching Project Book Bag. KFC’s goal is to continue to honor its commitment to the Dominican Public, through its corporate citizens program which fosters the overall development of Dominica’s Human Capital, especially the youth.

The Book Bag project is designed to target Primary Schools students around the island, in areas that are most in need.  Each year 3 schools will be selected, and the students moving from grade 1 & 2 will received a quality school bag filled with stationary items such as exercise books, pencils and reading books among others.

KFC Marketing Officer Lorraine Henderson said,” the project is made possible by the favour and support that Dominicans continue to show for KFC products.”

Ms. Henderson was especially pleased with the gratitude shown by the students.  She advised them to take care of the bags for the school term and use the gifts that were given. Most importantly, they are to commit themselves to learning so that they can be better citizens, who will make a positive contribution to the development Dominica.

The three schools which received bags this year are: Laudat and Concord Primary Schools and the Kalinago Child Foundation Inc.

Amanda Theodore, Executive Director of Kalinago Child Foundation Inc was happy for such a donation to the students.  She said it will make a meaningful contribution to the lives of the Indigenous Children who were part of the Kalinago Child Foundation Summer Program, by ensuring that they have proper bags to carry all their supplies to school daily.

KFC and its franchise holder Fine Foods Inc has set a long term commitment in offering the best service and products while continuing to play its part in developing the Human Capital of Dominica.

This must be a joke, if KFC truly wants to give back, they would give schools that have a need for these items. Laudat school has eight children, and Kalinago Foundation is not a school. Why not give the Atkinson school or Pointe Michelle. What? Too many students? They had a promotion at KFC, for school supplies, what they are giving is just left overs from that promotion. Stuupppesss.

This is just to continue to patronise KFC, the Quick Services Restaurant that provides fast food for the people to continue to get obese and eventually die. Let’s face the truth, which is sometimes hard to digest.
