54 young adults are now certified in the art of Pastry Making using Roberts Margarines and Spreads. On July 13th Fine Foods Inc, under the Roberts Margarines & Spreads product line, hosted a 6 weeks Pastry Making class in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Services, Family and Gender affairs’ Adult Education Division. The program objectives was to educate participants on the basics of pastry making.
At a small ceremony held at The Adult Education Office, Marketing Officer at Fine Foods Inc. Nardine Benjamin, presented each of the participants with a package comprising Velvo Kris shortening, Dove and Flour. “Fine Foods goal is to partner with organisations like Adult Education to promote the virtues of Roberts fine products. It is my hope that this will be used as a starter kit to help sharpen your skills not just at home but wherever you cook. There are so many more ways the products can be used besides pastry making, like baking, soups, and stews.” Miss Benjamin said.
Organiser from Adult Education, Miss Francisca Joseph, thanked Miss Benjamin and Fine Foods Inc for their initiative. She admitted “It’s not the first time that a private company has come on board but it’s the first time we are receiving products to do the course. We are very grateful.”
At the end of the summer program, The Adult Education Division will host their annual exhibition. This year’s display will be held next to Courts Dominica on Friday August 26th from 9 am to 4 pm.
The Adult Education Division seeks to motivate and stimulate participation by a wide cross-section of people in the community to work towards an intensified Adult Education Programme, including basic literacy and continuing into lifelong education.
