H.H.V. Whitchurch & Co. Ltd., established and operating in Dominica for the last 105 years, was surpassed in age by its Long Service Employees who were recognized in a private ceremony at the Main Offices of Whitchurch on Wednesday March 25th, 2015.

Eleven Employees were recognised for their long service to the Company.  When tabulating the number of years for each employee, it was pleasing to note that collectively these equalled 295 years – more than the Company has been in existence.  Gerry Aird, Managing Director congratulated the Long Service Employees and thanking them for their commitment and dedication to the success of the Company.  He impressed on them their role in laying the stepping stones to guide the direction of the newcomers to the Company, recognising their integral role over the years.

Jessica Bruney, Nora Joseph, Davidson Remie, Cecilia Williams-Riviere, Robertson Joseph and Jean Riviere were congratulated for Twenty Years of Service.  Peter George and Donatien Baron were thanked for Twenty-Five Years of Service.  Roslyn Remie was applauded for her Thirty-Five Years of Service.  Human Resources Administrator and Company Secretary, Mavis Christian was thanked for her continued commitment and Forty Years of Service.  Mrs. Christian, in her closing remarks stated, “always save the best for last,” proceeding to recognise a stalwart of the Company.  A gentleman who stood steadfast in times of success and trials to ensure that the quality synonymous with Whitchurch is maintained; his particular attention to detail and expectation of quality and recognition of loyalty created the mission that Whitchurch holds firm to.  Gerry Aird celebrates Fifty Years of Service at H.H.V. Whitchurch & Co. Ltd..  Standing next to him to thank him and congratulate him were his two sons, Jason and Damian Whitchurch-Aird.

Whitchurch thanks its Long Service Employees for their dedication to the Company and reminds all that: “Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” Vince Lombardi

They should all receive a thousand dollars for each year they spent there as a token

This is great. Shame that the owners/management still fail to teach their staff some basic customer service skills.

Yeah but i was very disappointed when i came home looking for my
Local bush tea in the boxes , next thing all i seeing is chinese tea and tea i drinking in america. No coco nothing. Bring back the 295 years of our natural products. I know it has to do with the gov’t and imports but as a nation, we need to fight for our local products to be produced and sold.

Excellent saying by Vince Lombardi which you emulate. It is evident in your progress and success and dedicated staff.
Truer words were never spoken. Each employer, staff and other people in the world should emulate it. What happy and peaceful people and a world it would be.

Congratulations to H.H.V. Whitchurch and staff for dedicated service. I have known this store since I was a child. I am not 295 years although I wished I would live that long and healthily. Wishful thinking.
I knew some people who were employed there. One in particular was a dedicated employee of many years and who retired some years ago. I believe she worked at Whitchurch since she left school. If I recall she passed away in 2013. I was sorry I was not in D/ca to attend her funeral. She was a wonderful lady.
The last time I visited D/ca, I went to Whitchurch to say hello to someone who was employed there. She is now studying in the US. I was surprised to know that Whitchurch has a travel agency. This is advertisement for you.
Whitchurch has grown and expanded from those days. It is kind of owners/ management to recognize your staff’s dedicated service.
I wish you continued progress and success. God’s blessing to each one of you.
