Blackberry got a good OS but a terrible ecosystem. There are simply not enuff apps to take advance of, which is one of the primary reasons that has lead to their downfall in the smartphone space. They make good products and they got a good OS but their ecosystem doesn’t measure up.

You’d be nuts to buy a Blackberry now ..They are being phased out. Apple or Android (my choice).. specifically HTC phones .. Samsung currently a little too expensive …but forget about Blackberry out of date features and build.

    • Blackberry why not?

Who says blackberry is being phased out? Don’t be caught up in the rush for what is most popular. A major reason why android is the go now is because the operating system is open source meaning that any company has the rights to use the system which in turn brings down the cost dramatically.

Consider China’s population. Most people there have android cuz they can buy a cheap chinese android phone. Once a huge population like that begins using a product, everyone is forced to do the same to keep up with the drive.

Blackberry is a very closed source and only Research In Motion has the blueprints to it’s operating system. That is why Blackberry is so hard to hack. It is the favorite among the business elites and will remain like that for years to come.

So don’t bash blackberry, it’s all about what you need your phone for. The younger population is crazy about android and iphone because of entertainment purposes. The drive in the world in social entertainment lies among the younger folks.

Business folks and the workforce whose jobs depends on emails on the go etc definitely prefers blackberry. It’s safer and more secure. It’s like a person who drives to work at the office everyday don’t need to buy a truck, but the person working in the mountains might need one. All depends on your needs. So you won’t be nuts to buy a blackberry, you’d be nuts NOT to buy one if it’s the more useful and productive device based on your lifestyle and needs and refuse to buy it just because everyone has something different.

For instant messaging (the most popular ones) android has whatsapp, blackberry has both bbm and whatsapp. Most people rather both as bbm is more secure.

Blackberrys are like hard rock solid devices. My blackberry has been dropped more than a 100 times and it never gives up. My friend has gone through 3 androids and one iphone and my blackberry is still going. When i have my blackberry phone i feel confident that it is not going to be damaged just like that, my info is secure, seriously it’s like a rock device both inside and out.
