Call center Clear Harbor has distanced itself from another call center here in Dominica, Caribbean Call Center, which is embroiled in controversy with members of staff.

In a release, Clear Harbor, which has over 800 employees, said it is in no way affiliated with Caribbean Call Center.

“The Management of Clear Harbor would like to inform the general public that our company is in no way affiliated with Caribbean Call Center, the outfit currently making headlines locally for alleged non-payment of salaries to its employees,” the company’s release said.

It continues, “Our reputation in the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Caribbean region and internationally as a company which meets its financial obligations to its employees is solid, and we intend to maintain it. That track record, especially in Dominica remains unblemished since we first started operations in the Nature Island in 2005 and it explains, in part, why we remain the largest private sector company in the Commonwealth of Dominica with just over 800 employees.”

The company said it continues to “recruit and train a cadre of highly motivated individuals to help us maintain our brand of superior customer service.”

The issue surrounding Caribbean Call Center erupted in the public on Tuesday this week when a letter, by employees, sent to the Labour Commissioner, was made public.

The letter alleged unfortunate working conditions, exploitation, unfair treatment, non-payment of salaries, poor working equipment, among others.

The letter said the issues “have caused great distress at the work environment” and “urgent assistance” is needed from the Labour Division.

This is why people like myself have very little faith in our people and why companies like Caribbean Call Center will take advantage of my people. The article clearly stated: “Employees of a call center in Dominica, Caribbean Call Center”. How would any of you even think that it was Clear Harbor. Clear Harbor has never referred to themselves by any other name but Clear Harbor since opening operations in 2005. Think people that is why we have that thing in our heads called a brain. Do some research and make some educated decisions instead of trying to be part of the conversation with senseless and baseless speech.

Now here is what I spoke about in another post: I am now skeptical about Clear Harbor. You see when you have people in Dominica sitting in front of computer with pen and paper taking notes that me they are collecting private information on people in the United States.

Who know how many people credit card, bank account, and social security numbers these people have which can be used to commit fraud, and identity theft. If that company originates in this country, it is time someone copy this photograph and show it to company known to be doing business with them.

It is illegal for them to be taking personal notes! I know this for a fact after questioning a certain company when I was ask to identify my mothers maiden name along with other information, in order for them to process my complaint.

I was informed the call centers are not allowed to write personal information on paper. So, in my mind this company’s reputation is not as good as they claim: Are the same who left St…

Is that the same Clear Harbor which fled from St. Kitts under some strange circumstances?

Francisco more and more i regard you as the village idiot. Valid points, but the follow through is dumb. How do you know that the folks at clear harbor are stealing personal info? do you work there? there are procedures in place at CH to prevent that.

why? why does your brain work like that? thats like saying if one company makes bleach, and there have been bad reports about their company or product, Clorox should get the blame, because your brain works that way. For those whose brains also works that way, Clorox is a brand name of a bleach, it doesnt mean all bleach is Clorox

        :-D :-D

Exactly!! All bleach is Clorox, all toothpaste is Colgate, all hair grease is Vaseline….a little word association is healthy for the brain, you check??

Very good Clear Harbor. Thanks for the clarification because I was thinking the Caribbean Call Center was either affiliated with you or your other name.
