Customers of Digicel Play, formerly SAT Telecoms and Broadcasting Ltd, will now have a much improved service thanks to a $40-million upgrade.

The ‘Home TV Experience’ will feature 20 High Definition (HD) channels, 83 digital high quality channels, over 50 music channels and an Electronic Program Guide (EPG) that will provide general information on an ongoing television program, movie or game.

With the new EPG, customers will be able to search through the channels using their remote control and get more information on all programmes, view programme schedules, set their favourite channel list, schedule reminders, set parental lock, among others.

Country Manager of Digicel Play, Mike Loiser, explained that this is an ongoing evolution of the company and promised customers that this is only the beginning.

“We have spent over EC $40-million in our upgrading the network,” Loiser stated at a cocktail reception at the Fort Young Hotel on Thursday to launch the first step in the upgrade. “We have been listening to our customers and have been working to deliver a faster and more reliable broadband service and the best digital TV experience to Dominica.”

He continued, “The introduction of High Definition channels and Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is only the first step in providing the best home entertainment experience to our customers. We will be continuously adding more and varied channels and other innovative technology to ensure we are delivering best service to our valued customers.”

The new Digicel Play TV experience will be available to both new and current customers at a special introductory rate of EC$46 per month for the first two months and EC$92 afterwards.

If customers prefer they can choose to keep their old packages of EC$ 46.00.
