The newly formed Dominica Manufacturing Association (DMA) says the formation of the organization will ensure that the most pressing issues affecting them will be brought to the fore.
Public Relations Officer Severin Mackenzie told a press conference yesterday that through implementation of creative solutions, the organizations will gradually address the various challenges affecting manufacturers on the island.
“We believe in the tremendous potential of its sector, both in terms of contribution to the Gross Domestic Product and to have more Dominicans more sustainably employed,” he said.
Mackenzie said the DMA will also conduct a system analysis of the manufacturing sector in Dominica.
“In this regard all manufactures will be asked to participate in on site surveys as well as written reviews in which the questions will be crafted in such a manner as to address the most pressing challenges facing manufactures at this time,” Mackenzie said.
These visits and surveys, according to him, will allow the association to address the issues at hand.
I would have thought that manufactures have enough on their hands manufacturing, rather than taking on what should be the job of Invest Dominica.
Isnt there an estalished Dominica Chamber of Agri- Business, which includes most of the matured manufactures on Island?
It would facilitate the process if the two would become one or share all the information which was already carried out in their data base.
