Section of Fort de France, capital of Martinique

Dominican manufacturers and business officials say they are making concrete attempts to cement partnership arrangements with their Martiniquan counterparts.

A Dominica delegation is heading for the neighboring French island from Wednesday (June 27), as part of continuing efforts to build firm relationships between the manufacturers associations of the two islands and the Invest Dominica Authority(IDA).

According to the Dominica Manufacturers Association (DMA), the Dominican and Martiniquan manufacturers are working towards the realization “of enhanced business investments and additional collaboration”.

”While in Martinique, the business delegation will be making prearranged visits to Martinique companies that have expressed interest in partnership arrangements with local Dominica firms, with a view to formalizing possible business opportunities,” the DMA says.

The Dominica delegation will be attending the annual general meeting of the Association Martiniquaise pour la Promotion L’Industrie.

Martiniquan manufacturers were on hand here last month for the annual general meeting of the Dominica Manufacturers Association.

Invest Dominica Authority says Dominica will at the AGM, make presentations on business opportunities, and processes involved in the establishment and operation of business in Dominica.

The Economic Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the African Caribbean Pacific group of countries will also form part of the proposed presentations.
