(DNO) The Dominica Electricity Services Limited (DOMLEC) contributed a total of $35,000 to four organisations yesterday.
The beneficiaries – the Dominica Association of Persons Living with Disabilities (DAPD), the Education Trust Fund, the Private Sector Foundation for Health and the President’s Charities Fund – received cheques from the company at a presentation ceremony at DOMLEC’s Roseau office yesterday.
General Manager of the company, Collin Cover, who addressed the ceremony, said that he was pleased as the general manager to be able to help these organisations.
“For me it is an immense pleasure that DOMLEC, at least in the two years that I have been here, has always given back more than we have budgeted to give back to the society… Really and truly you really have to give back to the society that you are in and serving. And so really for me, personally it’s a great pleasure to be here and to do this. It is one of the more pleasurable things that I have to do in my function as general manager….,” Cover said.
Nathalie Murphy, executive director of DAPD, expressed gratitude to DOMLEC for the timely contribution in such trying times. She said that this will go towards some of the expenses incurred due to some of the Blind Awareness Month’s activities this month.
The other recipients who were represented also thanked DOMLEC for their much needed contribution.
Its indeed amazing that some oraganisations in Dominica just dont care about giving back the people who support them. Its always a matter of taking money from Dominicans and hardly giving back anything to the people. Ask the chinese business men and women how much money are thy pumpin back in to the local ecomony? Ask them how many groups and organisations are being sponsored by them especially when they are amassing so much wealth. I am indeed happy dat Domlec is coming out to give to the people. But i still think Domlec could do better than that. I hope Domlect is not trying to mamagy the people so as to gain popular support especialy when the have matters of great importance being dealt with by the government, Thanks Domlec for the momey but thats small money and you all are so tufff on pooor people in Dominica.

35 thousand cannot save a failed Domlec any face in their attempt to bancrupt the country , take it Willie and tell them come again.
