Businessmen who received citizenship under Government’s Citizenship Program (CIP) in Europe and Asia are expected to visit Dominica soon to assist in areas in need.
Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony of the new West Bridge last week, Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, urged Dominicans to welcome the visitors without hostility.
“I do not want them to arrive in Dominica to an environment of hostility, anger or hatred. I want them to feel welcomed and appreciated,” he warned.
Skerrit said some of these new citizens have never visited Dominica, but they are proud and grateful for this new sense of belonging and they are eager to contribute even more, and on a sustained basis, to the development of the country.
“Indeed, some of our agents abroad are in the process of assembling a group of professionals, who are also new citizens, to visit Dominica, to identify and appreciate areas of need where they can assist and lend of their many years of collective training and experience,” he said. “They will be coming to Dominica, at their own expense, for a few days, to determine how, as doctors, engineers, architects, scientists, educators, horticulturists and environmentalists, they can help in fast forwarding the development of our country.”
His advice to those “who seem to make a favorite past-time of tearing down Dominica” is, “to cease and desist from this less than desirable conduct.”
“Our progress as a nation is being stymied and stifled as a result of the constant negative publicity the country is receiving, at the instigation of persons who are paid by the State, to promote its best interest,” Skerrit stated. “This evening, for example, were we in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Bridgetown, Barbados or even Castries, St. Lucia, the news tomorrow, next week or next month would be that the country is getting a spanking new, structurally appealing bridge, that welcomes locals and visitors alike, to the capital city.”
If you see a Dominican Economic Citizen of Arabic aspect, do remember to enquire of them whether they have a child bride, or indeed intend to have one soon.
Remember, the Arab countries folk who are mainly our new passport holders, can marry kids at any age (1, 2, 3 12 – all is fine!) quite legally and have all kinds of sex with them even buggery.
So now Dominica is known internally for supporting child sex via its Economic and Sexual Enablement Passport Scheme.
Isn’t this sad??
Dominicans love to admire other countries but have no PRIDE in theirs. Our greatest resource is used to tear down our country with our tongues not knowing the serious consequences it can cause.
If it takes new citizens to build up the country to keep it going, I give them my full support and will work with these new positive minded people.
DOMINICA will go no where if we listen to op-posers
Is that the first stage of preparing them for the next General Elections ? If so how many are expected?
STOP selling our passports!
STOP selling our future!
STOP selling our country!
STOP selling our HERITAGE!!!!!!
\”Out of the mouth of babes\” the mistake that was made 20 years ago when Dominicans decided to give the young man a chance because he has dimples and he handsome; no other qualifications were put forward. The guy has constantly referred to constructive criticisms of his administration as bad-mouthing the country. Question must be asked why is the PM asking the citizens not to be hostile and angry? What is the hidden agenda master of propaganda? It is not in the nature of Dominicans to be angry with persons who are here to help improve the life of it\’s citizens. You are so full of yourself that you have begun to believe your lies and propaganda; be real for once.
Once again Robert Skerro Mugabe is telling his people how to behave in the presence of foreigners ! So he knows that his supporters are badly brought up brats !! Sad!
Talk about Leadership Style..Skerrit could simply allow these people to come in and do their business and go on their merry way..no need for admonishing people to be calm as if by nature Dominicans are hostile people…In Fact isn’t that what they’re supposed to do? Are they not to come and invest?
Citizens come and go all the time without fanfare and spotlight..Careful how you set up the system Skewo
But who are these people?????? Dominicans do not know their names or what they look like…SMH
I am thoughtful now.. some of the new citizens have never visited Dominica before, and not only are they new citizens, but ready to put money into our economy…hmm…
The Nature Isle being slowly taken over, in the politics, economics, social and cultural spheres. It is happening right under our noses, in our faces.
Just as in the days of chattel Slavery, there were Black folks, who having allowed themselves to be enslaved, did the biddings of their masters, no questions asked. Trinkets, little advantages, given by Massa, for their loyalty and consistency, in helping with the abominable enslavement of their own.
Today repeat of the colonial mentality. New kind of enslavement. Forget already the horrors? Those who are EYEING our NATURE ISLE, those who with their $$$$$, purchased our passport, for that New kind of SLAVERY. Sold to new Masters.
Sovereignty gone. A nation molded into Zombies by one man?. So kneel to your new Masters
You have been prepared, over the years, through MENTAL ENSLAVEMENT, you in check, while the grounds have been preparing for the NEO-COLONIALISTS, the new kind of SLAVE MASTERS.
SOLD for how…
How is it that a Prime Minister of Dominica can also be the minister of finance? Something is up with that, no Prime minister should also be allowed to control a countries treasury, it opens up the possibility for too much crockery and miss-approbations of taxpayers monies out of the treasury into the pockets of politicians for their own use. At no time should any countries leader have sole control over the treasury. The Dominica treasury should be over flowing with the cash from the building from the sales of passports.
This really saddens me. It seems that “citizens” who acquired their citizenship with money are superior to those who acquired it by birth. Unfortunate statement, creating division, declaring a superior class of “Dominican” just because they have money. Our governments have betrayed us.
My Dominican family, the time has come for us to begin a process of
forward mobility for all of our people by changing our mindset, so to
benefit from the blessings we were given by God Almighty, and not by
man. A process that will in no way discredit the good that our
governments have done, yet, one of identification of the current
affairs of the state we now have to live with. To initiate a process of
bringing the conscious minded citizens who will genuinely sacrifice
their personal agendas for the national good of our people. Finally,
one of consolidation with regards to those who posses the knowledge of
real solutions to make a significant change, by discontinuing “to
nurture ignorance and dependency..,” also sufficient skills and
expertise so that proper strategies be put in place to put the power of
prosperity back in the hands of our people.
A new wind, and leaders of change are on the horizon, orchestrated by the Almighty…
This is shameful and hurtful. For years many highly qualified Dominicans have been begging to come home to play the role as qualified engineers, doctors, and other professionals. But most are met with hostility, resentment and all manners of obstruction. And now suddenly the doors are flung open to embrace these foreigners who purport to want to do the same thing. Jah what is it about us that make us so subservient to the “other” but so dismissive of our own kind? This is a sad turn of affairs in DA. Second class citizenry appears to be on the horizon. Sad, sad, day. How much more short-sighted and irresponsible can our current leadership get?.
People of Dominica, the time has come for us to begin a process of forward mobility for all of our people by changing our mindset, so to benefit from the blessings we were given by God Almighty, and not by man. Roosevelt Skerrit is now warning us papa Bondieur. Roosevelt Skerrit took loans on our behalf for capital projects and Chinese came all the way from Chiba to do the work and we never harass them. Chines who bought passport came to Domi set up shop we never harass them . Why now Roosevelt Skerrit warning us like he warning
The same man who ask Laborites to gi harass born and bred Dominicans and call them traitors is now telling us walk on egg shell for his passport clients. SMH
You making such a valid point..he flips and flops in discretion of his words and actions..right minded Dominicans can’t feel proud of a blatant double standard man like that..
LMAO…go and quiet allu self….see they warn you all…run and hide cause your Father hath spoken….idiots….Dominica Gets the Government that they deserve!
Chups Skerrit with his magee
Wonder if he will beat us if they get Zika like the rest of us
Do you expect us to greet them with “go to hell, you bastards.”
Tell us the origin of these economic citizens and their names, so that we can make our own research. We might catch a few dangerous linkages. You have sold your soul to devil so many times.
And get them tested for the Zika virus before entry. That is IMPORTANT for the Gold.
A slave master talking to his slaves
“Businessmen who received citizenship under Government’s Citizenship Program (CIP) in Europe and Asia are expected to visit Dominica soon to assist in areas in need.”
If that was true, how come you have not named the area of need they are going to assist with, you are simply spewing more of your ridiculous nonsense as usual!
Roosevelt when economic citizenship is granted to anyone that recipient must be resident in the country, and has investments in the country, prior to the issuance of citizenship. Your business is simply the sale of our nations passports for a price to the highest bidder, of which more than half of the proceeds finds its way into the pockets of the salesmen and women.
The country benefits very little form such sale; besides the criminals who buy Dominica passports indulge in the practice to find an easy way to move around committing crimes, and involved in all sorts of illegal activities!
IMF warn u all to stop the program we have an isis threat, u all not listening, why can’t u develop Dominica like a normal country with low taxes, limited Government and low inflation. Stop being lazy and do something creative, skerrit use your brains.
My fellow Dominicans are the most welcoming people I know.
A real democratic “leader” would address the people he represents and “ask” them to welcome. We should be cautious of one who states “warn”. He really needs a professional PR person to help him or advise him on how to speak.
Unless there’s more that isn’t reported here, that was DNO editorialising, not something that Skerrit said.
Warn you children to behave; not a grown adult like me. Take a dose of ______________
lol…Skerits makes me laugh. Read what he says, I wonder if in fear.
“I do not want them to arrive in Dominica to an environment of hostility, anger or hatred. I want them to feel welcomed and appreciated,” he warned.”
Dominicans, we have been warned. This is the warning of a recently acclaimed Doctor…lol…lol…lol…….Doctor my assets! That is how a PM introduces investors to Dominica., like con men on the run!! Somebody must be sock somewhere or have jetlag.
hmm, well is now lands and property going to be under pressure, folks better lookout..
as he will make sure they get their desire…don’t be surprise if the joker amends laws to facilitate them…….it’s all about trickery and deception.
You Skerrit treat everyone with hostility when one disagree or not show support for ‘your’ stated policies!
If you feel comfortable treating Dominicans with hostility like business people who are forced to close down their business (does Brisbane ring a bell) ?
Wasn’t Brisbane supermarket supporting our economy?
Did your government hire any of the workers who lost jobs?
Well our new citizens can’t take high ground over us born on WAITIKUBULI!
We are all citizens!
What if I repeated Charles savarin hounding Dominicans to not shop at brizee-mart?
Brisbane is a local investor too!!!!!!
Go to hell!
De higher de monkey climb de more he expose his backside!
“I do not want them to arrive in Dominica to an environment of hostility, anger or hatred. I want them to feel welcomed and appreciated,” he warned.
I expect I’ll be downvoted into oblivion for this, but I don’t think “warned” is the right word. A warning carries with it an implicit threat. Skerrit’s remarks as you’ve reported them didn’t do that: they weren’t menacing, they were merely a statement of preference and counsel.
Is sympathy, that guy is looking for you know: Nobody creates more hate in the country than Skerrit.
If you do not believe me just read his opinion on the matter involving Francis, and the vote of no confidence against him.
Skerrit ! He is simply talking nonsense; if he does not want them to find hate in the country, ask him how is going to stop crime, and unemployment while they are visiting him?
Unfairness, wrongful prosecution, and victimization of the native of a country by the government of the country breads hate and discontentment among the people!
Skerrit is the main agent, and messenger of hate in the country!
Skerrit needs a serious course in the english language or else he will never know better…
Steve, just DNO putting their slant on tings (he warned)…. How about he begged, he pleaded, he suggested, he asked, he recommended, etc etc
No doubt, those from the UAE will be bringing their child brides with them? Your take on this Steve?
“HE WARNED” ?????
My reaction exactly. SMH
Our progress as a nation is being stymied and stifled as a result of poor governance, incompetence and lack of vision of the DLP government.
tap your self on the back, I notice that you must have learnt a couple words ,recently.
Zor…but where I be dere nuh
Maybe if we use to pay our people right people would want come back when they are done studying …..and we wouldn’t have to send for any foreigner …
Massa Day will never be done, as long as Skerritt and his Cabal continue with their neo-colonial way of ruling the lives of thousands of peace-loving Dominicans.
Those New, passport-wielding Citizens will be paying a visit to their colony of 70,000 +. subdued, mentally enslaved by a few willing to aid and abet in this new slavery Policy action. Real Estate in the Nature Isle, on their radar. 15 acres of Cabrits National Park GONE not OURS
Advantage they take of those willing to drown in IGNORANCE. 4th. even 5th. class You all will become, if not already, in your own homeland. Many of you have allowed yourselves to be enslaved day in, day out. With hands outstretched, you continue to grovel at the feet of CULTIST thinking
Jobs that you could do are taken away from you and given, without bidding, just like that, to Bajans? And you do not even care? No outrage? Corruption OK?
You are unaware of the CULT?
Dominicans witness this new kind of slavery deepening.
Really man In 2016 we should be boasting to the region that the country is getting a basic simple support bridge. You got to be kidding. After 15 years?. Somebody pinch me cause when the many other bridges were built we did not brag about simply because this is trivial stuff.
Build a new international airport, bring in mega industries, yacht mariner etc and we can start talking.
Does the title “PM” really make you a PM? Jus axin. Mister just trying to come around, but he has tied himself in so many knots, that he don’t know which way to turn. Every statement he makes is contradictory. But he was elected by folks jus likeem. So what can I say!!!
I find it pretty strange that the pm would say that the folks are spending their own money to get to Dominican, I live overseas and every time I get to Dominica is on my own expense, I really thing that our prime minister should speak better than that. lots of people are listening. also when I get to Dominican am in the middle of everything that’s going on, no one says to try and cool out guy because so and so is going to be on the island. how about the other tourist that visit the place..
MR PM HOW ABOUT THE SO CALL INVESTORS YOU SAID THAT WAS GOING TO BUILD, RUN AND MAINTAIN AN AIRPORT ?
I wish some of the monies collected from that venture of economic citizen would go towards building sporting areas for sports people, EG basket ball netball volley ball, swimming, track and field etc. its to long our kids are struggling in sports because of the places they have to train. I also believe that the Olympic committee should be disbanded because its bringing nothing to the…

Alareeza the MDTH fella has been in Dominica since January and nobody ask him any question. Not even about hospitals and, aqua Prawn facility nor the taxi and limousine company.
The Indian lawyer who was on the run and living in Porssie -nobody ask him what he selling even while it was bold on the Internet that he was wanted.
In fact Dominicans would not have given him up if there was a million dollar reward cause Dominicans are either too afraid of the government or we luv our PM too much

What are you? A tape recorder? You’ve got one template only? I do wonder sometimes.
Will some of them be part of the imported voters who causes DLP to steal elections here? Will Alison Madueke,Francesco Corallo,Rudolph King,,etc also visit? I eagerly await the invasion..Those who cannot hear will feel.
Mr Skerritt, why are you putting a bad name on Dominica by even suggesting that fellow Dominicans coming to visit their country might be met with hostility. When you are returning home from overseas visits that is hardly news, same for your other ministers,so why are you making a big deal with this.Just let them come to their country like ordinary citizens that they are.Instead you are alerting the world that it should pay attention to Dominica because there might be trouble. You are the one giving the impression and as such giving Dominica a black eye
It is truly unfortunate that people have our passports for months and even years, they consider themselves to be Dominicans and don’t know anything or visited Dominica before now. If everything is above board, why would the Prime Minister beg Dominicans to avoid aggression against their own people. They have a Dominicans passport, are they not considered Dominicans. Remember the great welcome you had at Melville Hall Airport when you returned with your doctorate, if you believe Dominicans might not welcome our business Dominican friends, why not a have the same reception. You want to look good, don’t you.
Dominicans open all u eyes these people are coming to buy up the land and lots to build their second homes..soon born Dominicans will have no where to go. Dominicans open you all eyes, keep them economic citizens OUT They already pay for the passport now they want to take Dominica away from us… Open all u eyes Dominicans… Skerit … He has promised and they paid him well now they want more. Coming in the guise to build my foot. Skerit stop taking Dominicans for fools..
You are right Zuma. When these new citizens come they can buy property without limit an don’t have to pay the extra 10% our neighbors have to pay. Did you know that someone from Guadeloupe, Martinique and even Barbados are officially classed “alien” by our government and must get an alien land holding license plus pay 10% of the purchase price more to the government if they want to buy a place here? But if you come from Kuala Lumpur with your new Dominican passport you are an instant Dominican, no need to speak English even, and can vote? And there is Skerrit boasting about unity and all that when our own Caricam borthers and sisters are not treated equal. Is only big money he is interested in.
Build a wonderful bridge to welcome foreign dominican citizens but on their arrival in the towns the side walks are damaged , filthy water running from homes towards the side walks which is a health hazard to the public, rusty doors and damaged house all about the place, during the night there is no place that they can go to have some fun, rubbers are waiting next to cash machines, too many foreigners who had a business in dominica were killed and no one was punish, before you were there dominica had a smiling face ,now it is over,if you cannot do the work let someone else do it,we are not going to survive by all these charity we are getting from abroad ,we must be able to rely on our selves ,there is an abattoir but no farms, farmers planting food have no good roads nor running water ,tell us what is positive and fructifying that you have done, the big political state building built in roseau was not a priority..some people must remove their shoes to cross a river to go to their homes…
Do all dwellings in Roseau even have toilets with running water….do they all have their own potable water supply?
Those investors put good money in our pockets to do what we want, so behave Dominicans.
Mr Prime Minister, we need to encourage about 5000 of them and their families to settle down in Dominica. That would transform our economy.
Cyril,
Except it was never their intention to live in Dominica.
“Skerrit said some of these new citizens have never visited Dominica…”
Lol…
So let me make sure I understand this: these economic citizens paid huge sums of money to acquire Dominican passports and in return, they will pay their way to “assist” Dominica.
Well, how generous of these people to “assist” us. And why would the PM think we would be anything but grateful for their generosity?
This is just too funny.
Coming from a who tried his best to stimulate violence in his political meeting in St. Joseph. After reading the above article, I got the sense that which ever of the alleged investors that are willing to invest in Dominica, it will be a little here and a little there. I don’t smell any mass development coming, no major overhaul. As stated by lord Skeritt, “they are coming to help where necessary.” So you mean to tell me you go Dubai how much times, you go China how much times, and you not trying to see how you can get them man to laydown couple skyscrapers for you in Roseau and relocate them people that living in them ki pourri? That is how you saying Roseau going and be the most envied city in the Caribbean and will set the benchmark and be a model for everyone else because of a stupid bridge you building which by the way you gave to foreigners? News flash sir, go down port of Spain Trinidad and then tell me if they could ever want to be like Roseau
Wow, so all of a sudden we are second class citizens, told to behave ourselves when the new Massa in town?
I told you all that would happen. Our sovereignty is being sold. Soon foreigners will be ruling us again.
You are warning us??? Don’t be stupid man! Show us the money you collected from these people and then and only then are you allowed to make big speeches.
They should leave our passports at the Police HQs. Skerrit should pay them back their money from his pocket and they should return from whence they came. Period!!
Is it true that a Morocco is looking to open an embassy in Dominica soon?
Is it true that a prominent Iranian business man is already resident In Dominica?
Do we have to issue a tender for the construction of a mosque in Dominica?
These are only questions, for the govt. etiher to confirm, deny as nonsense or remain silent on.
Monkey Dominica has a mosque for many years now.
Does Roseau have a mosque? Most of the terrorists in the Paris and Brussels attacks had a Moroccan background. Whenver Skerrit open his mouth he makes things worse.
Skerrit how about you round up all those traitors and put them in stock farm. Since when have Dominicans been hostile to visitors. These people could come to Dominica and no one would know who they are. However you have elevated them over the engineers and doctors and scientists in Dominica because you believe in keeping born Dominican down. Now that they are citizens they have to experience what people living all thier lives in Dominica face daily. Not the lies to told them. No one knows they are coming but you. So how can people instigate trouble. You planting seeds of hate and division by this very announcement and it is frankly annoying.
You planting seeds of hate and division by this very announcement and it is frankly annoying. SO TRUE!

so spanking new bridge to same ole roseau? same sidewalks? vagrants? drains?
as for new citizens – no hostility towards them if Dominica was not selling space they would not be here. any hostility has to be directed at the government not ECONOMIC CITIZENS.
One step at a time my dear.
And then you can come down to vote with a charter plane full of those like them….. This political tomato has an will burst some time Skerrit – don’t fool yourself.
