The completion of negotiations with the Waterfront and Allied Workers Union (WAWU) and the First Caribbean International Bank on Thursday has brought increased benefits to staff at the financial institution.
After negotiations were finalized Kertiste Augustus, secretary-treasurer of the WAWU, said the employees of First Caribbean will see a four percent increase in their wages for 2010, a three percent increase for 2011, and two percent for 2012.
Meal and uniform allowances are the other fruits of the negotiations, which according to Augustus, went quicker than expected.
“It also brought increased benefits in terms of the uniform allowance that was paid to the male staff,” Augustus said.
give me that money
Can I return to my old Royal Bank of Canada?
Oh STFU!! Govt workers just got 3% and all of you were jumping up and saying it good…it enough. So why FCIB workers cannot be satisfied with 9% over 3 years? Public officers don’t even get half of that for over the same period…stupes. And even meals too and uniform allowance for male staff? Garcon, that good.
..”THANKS” First Caribbean for the measely 3% peanuts and a paleau lunch.
If for example a teller receives a $1000 a month. A 3 percent increase in a $1000=$30.
The unions on Skerrit’s Plantation are so typical..No back bone and ineffective!!
IT HAD TO TAKE A UNION TO PUSH FOR GIVING 4, 3 AND 2% TO A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION?? FCIB SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS.
