Fuel prices go up today

Dominicans are expected to dig deeper into their pockets for gasoline, diesel, kerosene and other fuels effective today.

The Ministry of Trade has advised that from today diesel prices will increase by 62 cents to $13.12 per gallon, while gas will be sold at $13.19 per gallon, an 11 cents increase.

Increases are also expected in the price of kerosene and cooking gas.

Domlec indicated last month that consumers would have to pay more for electricity in this month, if PDV Caribe goes ahead with planned increases in the cost of fuel.

Sorry to say, this is world wide. In london gas is now £1.39 per litre, that is about $5.60 a gallon. convert that to EC (about $25.00 per Gallon) and you will see fuel is still cheaper in D/ca than in the UK. LOL!!!!

yes but you need to compare cost of living and the overall economic status of of the population plus the possibility of squeezing more miles per gallon from the vehicles on your roads. here we dont have a choice. must deal with rough terrain.

Patriotic Citizen: u see how allu be,,, blaming this on b.p,,, yeah maybe they have a small part but we knew it Ghadaffi’s fault here,,,, the same ghadaffi who give d/ca n st vincent money,,, yep yep his fault and now the crisis in japan have made things a lil worse,,, u said about nuclear energy lol u can’t be talking bout dominica are you?? we have wind energy,,, we have hydro energy n geothermal energy,,,, the u.s has all these also and coal to go,,, besides how long would it take to develop the nuclear energy,,,,,,,,

This was a mere error on my part, but in regards to BP, oil prices are rising everywhere and the extreme loss that was recognized last year is somewhat accountable for this… It’s not solely based on Ghadaffi —it’s a global detriment there are mutliple factors contributing to the increases.

This is all effects from the major oil loss from BP last year… The offset in the prices did take a while to be realized however they’ve been rising… At a USD4/gal in NY, but unlike Dominica we can’t so so less reliant on gas…. But there are so many alternates hat we can recognize… this is where nuclear energy looks ever so promising.

That is a 5% increase on gas. I read on the news that oil futures were trading down in anticipation of reduced demand from Japan, and the price per barrel of oil was down. Tell me again why gas prices gone up?
