A furniture building training module, facilitated by Alexis Prince, was launched on Monday October 5, 2015, at the old Salybia School Compound in the Kalinago Territory.

The initiative stemmed out of the Ministry of Kalinago Affairs understanding of the importance to develop the community’s human capital.

The module therefore endeavors to utilize all those available within the Salybia constituency for maximum benefit to all the communities in the area.

The module will help to develop furniture building skills that have the ability to address the socio-economic condition of the people of the Salybia constituency. It will further develop an appreciation for the use of local lumber, cultivate good conservation practices, and nurture a sense of entrepreneurial spirit.

The launch was ddressed by the Kalinago Chief; Charles Williams, WAIKADA Official; Garnette Joseph, facilitator; Alexis Prince and Kalinago Affairs Development Officer; Cozier Frederick.

The Furniture building module is organized by the Ministry of Kalinago affairs and implemented by the WAIKADA.
