The management of LIAT (1974) Ltd confirms that one of its employees is in police custody in Barbados assisting law enforcement officers with their investigations into a drug-related matter.

The employee in question was taken into custody on Tuesday shortly after arrival at the Grantley Adams International Airport on a flight from St. Lucia.

The management of LIAT wishes to indicate its full support for, and cooperation with, law enforcement authorities in relation to any investigations where its cooperation is required.

The practice by LIAT of asking you to keep your luggage unlocked so they can do security check at the back, without knowing what they are actually doing should not be allowed. I recently had to unlock my suitcases and was told ” we will lock then after the check” is purse shit. As they did not lock them back. and was i terrified as to whether something was removed or added. Well who will ever believe the traveler? LIAT do whatever they want. No apology after I complained since January.

No mention that the drug mule is a Saint Lucian. Many nationalities work with Liat dont smear them all because of the drug running by one St. Lucian stewardess.

I’d like to be the first to congratulate LIAT for actually getting the drugs to the right country at the right time.

My point is, where the LIAT employee is concerned, LIAT vows to give full support for, and cooperation with, “LAW ENFORCEMENT’ authorities in relation to any investigations where its cooperation is required.”

Folks, a child’s future has been damaged; a family has been torn apart because of sexual allegations involving three top ranking men. But has PM Skerrit vowed to give full support to law enforcement to ensure we get to the root of these allegations? Has he vowed to give support and protection to the alleged child?

Instead of the man showing anger against these allegations, what we see is he playing politics and to me, condoning such evil action. I mean with such serious allegation wouldn’t a good and caring leader disassociate himself at least in public as taught in the bible? But what do we see? He makes the former minister look like a hero, while he is in bed with the UWP former deputy, and continues to use the radio station of his accused friend to address the…

I have no problem whatsoever with him picking up his alleged fallen friends in private. But to see him do it in public, while many young hearts are tourn apart and to see him treat this guy as if he did some heroic act, to me is equivalent to condoning the evil alleged actions of these men.

To me, this is just madness and that’s why I love the USA. Can you imagine if Hilary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump, or Ted Cruz, embracing in public and make such a person look like a hero? I mean the Republicans cannot even use George Bush to campaign for them because of his poor rating as president. ONLY IN DOMINICA these madness take place and Dominicans as stupid as they are, will still vote for Skerrit and his candidate.
Boy I throwing stones behind my back as long as this corrupt and supporter of all kinds of evil remains in office

Now this is worrying I recently travelled home to UK from Dominica via Antigua, liat checking policy stipulates all locks to be removed from suitcases. It won’t be too long before one these corrupt staff comprises an inoccent travellers luggage.

That sounds like Fagin’s den! Unbelievable, remove the locks and when something is missing you have no recourse! Never heard of such nonsense. Buy yourself up-to-date electronic luggage checking equipment instead baggage handling.

My question is, does LIAT have a right to issue this directive? It appears to be abnormal and a serious one which should be investigated.
If it is necessary, passengers are to unlock their luggage in the presence of an officer and then lock it again; not to leave them unlocked.
If it is LIAT’s directive, passengers should be informed about it when purchasing their ticket.
LIAT cannot opt out and inform them to leave their suitcases unlocked. What exactly is LIAT up to; its intention?
This does not sound correct to me. I would be wary of complying with this demand for obvious reasons.
Passengers have every reason to be concerned and to refuse as well.

This policy sounds strange. Is this really LIAT’s checking policy? Is this legal? This is an open invitation for illegal drugs to be placed in suitcases and to also steal the contents with also the loss of your luggage.
Consider when the luggage arrives at your destination and it is examined.
This is a policy which should be looked into. Did it originate from LIAT executives?
I will look into this. It does not sound legal, acceptable and safe to me.

Your comment is very confusing; when one speaks of a “policy” or in the plural policies they are implying a course, or principle of action adapted or proposed by a government, the administration of a business, or an individual.

When people talk about one stipulate, or a stipulation they are implying a condition, or requirement that is specified, or demanded as part of an agreement.

Unless someone agrees to a request it can’t be considered something stipulated!

As for a policy, one is not compelled to obligate themselves to any sort of policy: i.e., one policy could be you have to indulge into something illegal if you wish to be included, okay.

      Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
