That’s good news for me, it’s time for DOMINICA to get onboard. LIAT is moving on ARE YOU? That’s what happens when all you mind LIAT business and look at all LIAT flaws and not look at all you own. TEK THAT.

Why is Liat treating Dominica like an illegitimate child, only one flight from Antigua to Dominica daily in the morning so if one misses it that is it for you. Govt of Dominica is still a share holder of Liat.

So how can Roosevelt make so much noise about hotel development, tourism development, export development, people coming to invest in Dominica when it is so difficult and expensive to get here? People would go to an easier place don’t you think so? I mean I love my country but this is backward development not forward. Roosevelt, now I understand why you do not use that Liat yourself.

I am increasing forgetting about LIAT and will travel via the French islands instead. Take a ferry and connect with one of the several flights to Paris. AirCaraibe will take you from Fort de France to Paris in Nov. for as little as Euro 441.37 return (U.S. 488 or Pounds sterling 319), all taxes included. You can fly from Paris Orly direct to City Airport in London or destinations within France or Europe, such as Brussels by Express train with a combined air/rail ticket (the airline will issue it for you)
You will have to overnight in Martinique on your return but that is the case now travelling with LIAT via Barbados or Antigua and I’d rather sejourn in Martinique for a shorty ferry journey the next day, directly to Roseau. You can book direct on line with AirCaraibe (or Air France if you have a bigger wallet), using your credit card, without the hassle of using a local travel agent.

This is not exactly good news for Dominica. We are now left with 4 direct LIAT flight per day:

    Antigua to Melville Hall:
    LI 581 dep. 07.40 – arr. 07.50
    Barbados to Melville Hall:
    LI364 dep. 14.20 – arr 15.20
    Melville Hall to Antigua:
LI580 dep. 8.30- arr. 0910 (same aircraft as LI 581, returning to Antigua)
LI364 dep. 16.00 -arr. depending whether or not flights stops in Guadeloupe on the way to Antigua, which happens three times a week on tue., thur. and sat. This is the same flight 364,from Barbados to Dominica and continuing to Antigua, thrisce weekly via Guadeloupe.
There is no longer a direct LIAT connection from/to St. Maarten , Barbados or Puerto Rico from/to Melville Hall.

To get a connecting flight in Barbados to say, N. America or Europe one would have to fly first to Antigua on the 08.30 flight and change in Antigua. Same applies to if you are to connect say with Virgin or BA flights to London. You will have and entire day to kill Antigua. We are snookered.

You are right, we only have two direct LIAT flights a day now from Dominica, both to Antigua, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The afternoon one stops three times a week in Guadeloupe. I wonder why LIAT still keep a full staff and manager here. That can not be cheap.
