LIAT resumes normal operations

liatRegional airline, LIAT, has said its operations are returning to normal following the end of industrial action by members of its pilots’ union.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Julie Reifer-Jones said on Friday full service has resumed throughout the LIAT network.

At the same time the airline says it “acknowledges with regret the inconvenience and disruption passengers throughout the region have experienced over the past few days.”

Travelers across the region were affected earlier this week due to the pilot’s industrial action.

They went on strike after two of their colleagues were suspended by the airline’s management.

The suspensions were subsequently withdrawn as the two parties met to discuss the issues surrounding the industrial action.

    LIAT resumes normal operations

Yes we know it is normal for LIAT to operate without care for customer convenience or as now with the latest fiasco with regard to their safety. A Captain of a aircraft is responsible to both his employers and passengers when it comes to safety

So what is normal ???? The unexpected?

I would love to say that I penned these words, but the reality is that I didn’t.
Someone else sent them to me so I figured that I might share them.

    When flying Liat

Expect the ticket to cost more than the flight you took from the states.
    Expect to get there late
    Expect delays
Expect that they will not accommodate your missed connection
Expect the flight attendants to not sound like the countries they come from.
Expect to not get your luggage the same day.
See you next week! Love you!
You should fly with a “pack what you need in your hand luggage attitude”.
Expect that your international airline will let you check two bags but liat?
    Liat don’t care.
    One bag.
    50 pounds.
    Anything else is overweight.
As a woman, be pretty if a man is checking you in. Be flirtatious. Be sexy.
Expect that you won’t get charged the overweight.
If another woman is checking you in,
expect to pay the overweight. every last dollar.
Expect that in Puerto Rico & Antigua, they may go through your luggage.
Expect that some of your stuff may be missing.
Expect there’s no one to blame.
Expect that they will fly through weather American Airlines would not.
Expect that they will serve Ribena on the flight.
Expect that the old country woman sitting next to you will grip your arms when flying through the mountains. Expect to know half the plane.
Expect the “long time no see. A a you get big eh!”
Expect the entire plane to applaud when the wheels touch down. Even if the flight is uneventful. But a liat flight is never uneventful.
Expect the plane to be loud. Caribbean things don’t know how to be quiet. Everybody must know who we are and why we’re here.
I’ve learned this is not a thing to be ashamed of.
    Fly liat.
    Expect the unexpected
