Alright then Petite Savanne is not that far away from Bagatelle to merit a different tariff. Fond St Jean should definitely have the same tariff as Bagatelle?!!

Dominica is about 1-2 months behind. In another month or 2, prices will be going up again.

That not making any sense by not this government should have fuel at less than $10.00 per gallon.

based on what? i am not defending the government but i am trying to see if you understand how the pricing system works or if you can just complaining because its the easiest thing to do.

I’m not hearing nothing from the bus drivers and the fisher men. They demanded an increase and it was granted to them, I’m not hearing them saying now that they are going to decrease the bus fares, nor the fisher men are going to lower the price of fish. Now with the fisher men, some were given boats, and motors by government but that wouldn’t deter them from selling their fish at $10.00 and $11.00 a lb.
We are not enjoying the drop from the price of fuel, the price is way too high, fuel should not be selling for more than $8.00 a gallon. I know that we do not have fuel in DA but it has dropped from a little over $100.00 to less than $50.00 a barrel on the world market, this is my basis in believing that fuel should be sold , not more than $8.00

And the price of FISH still remains the same???!!

    March 2, 2015

Why aren’t the bus drivers lowering their fares? They themselves said it was because of fuel prices that they had to increase.
it should be done across the board, fishermen etc.

Well, I doubt Savarin will appreciate the drop in prices at the pump, since last week he contended that the low selling price of oil is responsible for the global economic devastation which we know does not exist any longer.

In 2008, the housing, (Real Estate ) market collapsed, in the United States, and since investors in the more developed nations, including banks, bought trillions of dollars in Mortgages, when the industry collapse billions were lost: the collapsed had nothing to do with oil. I can testify to that because in one day I personally lost more than a million dollars.

On that day I had property’s valued at more than a million dollars which value dropped to less than four hundred thousand dollars. The economy of the world has long recovered, the price of my properties are right back to where they were prior to the collapse. Skerrit and Savarin holds on to that lie about oil price to deviate from the poverty in Dominica.

Enjoy??? What, a few cents? Remember it is not a favour the government is granting anyone. For that matter, the returns the govt. gives is miniscule compared to the astronomical drop on the world scale. Crude oil has dropped from over $100 a barrel, to less than $50 a barrel.

Bull BULL why is it more in certain areas,it should be one price island wide.

    • Informative
      March 2, 2015

it depends on the distance of the village. you must consider cost in transporting the cylinders to those areas. :)

    • March 2, 2015

I agree with you it should be one price thru out the Island, so why the different prices.

      • hmmm
        March 2, 2015

different prices because of the distance the distributors have to travel to distribute the fuel/gas

        March 3, 2015

I can’t believe you need someone to explain that to you. Any dummy could figure out why the prices are higher in the villages as you go further and further out of town

        March 3, 2015

YUP so the cost of transportation and all other taxes are taken into account when determining the diff prices so watch out for those voleh shop keepers !

    • LawieBawie
      March 2, 2015

You obviously don’t know much about business and profit margins, but I will give you a little crash course. Whenever you include the transportation factor into the equation it drives up the cost of the product. The further the goods are transported the more expensive they become. There is need for a vehicle to transport these heavy bottles to the various locations across the island, which may involve a hire agreement. Even if the business owns the vehicle, the fuel and wear and tear must be factored in and will be expressed by a cash figure which will be bolted on to the selling price of the goods.

    • Jayson
      March 2, 2015

maybe it has alot to do with transportation costs to the further districts…

    • March 2, 2015

The further away from the city, the higher the price due to cost of transportation. The gas does not just appear at the different locations.
