Telecommunications Minister Ambrose George says more could be done to improve the social security scheme in Dominica.
George told the 22nd meeting of CARICOM heads of social security that there are still a large number of persons who refuse to participate in the social security program.
“We must continue our efforts to get these persons into the net. While this is not the responsibility of the schemes only, there is no doubt that you are well placed to lead the education process and drive that will bring more persons in as contributors,” he said.
George also urged other stake holders such as trade unions, employer organizations and relevant association’s of various categories to encourage all eligible persons to participate in the program which affords all participants some level of social protection.
Social security is high way robbery for every $3 u put in, u get back $1. A Ponzi Scheme, i will not participate in.
