New association to target local products

The newly formed Dominica Manufactures Association says one of its main objectives is to compete with imported products on the local market.

Public Relations Officer of the association Severin McKenzie says a buy Dominica campaign of local products is already being considered.

“We will sensitize the population on locally manufactured products. We are already thinking of a buy Dominica campaign of local products. We believe that Dominica can do much better if people appreciate what we are doing,” he said.

The association held their first executive meeting on Wednesday.

Mac kenzie is one of our scarce resources iknow him well and every kawante from River street (going to DGS)where he grew up and grand fond his home(always).he could not have a clear conscience and be part of the extremely corrupt administration and did the honrable thing and stepped out of what he help maintain during the 2 decades in the wilderness only to be hyjacked by DFP-ites and brought us to this low erb in our social-political and econmic situation.medard use to say God is great all the time all the time God is great.he has become filthy rich he does not say it any more lol! Mckenzie is humble, honest ,hard working no chip on his shoulder and striving forward net ,clean uncorruptable and at peace iwith himself. Things are just moving forward for this model citizen who i know( although we/ve not in daily contact despite how small we are but we see meet when we have to) I too second the motion naming Mck for man of the year and beyond. Someone who categorized movers and shakes inDA last yr and chose a man of the yr for us need to understand whatshakers and movers really are about.

Great move.It is time that we instill patriotism into the minds of our people and one legendary way is to buy local. This has to be instilled in our people from the cradle to the grave.your country comes first ,your people come first, your products come first. We have to consider ourselves as the best people on earth and people are searching for us and would like to become like us.

Great idea much awaited look at the products we grow and has been growing for a long time. Hope our people get the message “eat what we grow and grow what we eat it`s as simple as that. We will never prosper as a nation if we do not go back to the good days working the soil.
