PM Skerrit is expected to address the Martinique Regional Council

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit is to meet Martinique’s Regional Council President, Serge Letchimy, today (Tuesday) during an official visit.

The visit occurs in the context of a regional program on sustainable development and energy transition.

Skerrit will address the regional assembly on cooperating in renewal energy and geothermal development between Martinique and Dominica.

Dominica has already made it clear it intends to sell renewable energy to the French islands once its geothermal project is completed.

He will also address the final integration of Martinique in the Caribbean States Association planned for the end of April 2014.

The prime minister will be accompanied by Minister of Lands, Housing, Settlements and Water Resource Management, Reginald Austrie, and the Minister of Public Works, Energy and Ports, Rayburn Blackmore.
