In a mere three year time period, boutique eco-luxury resort Secret Bay, which opened its doors in 2011, has garnered extensive media coverage from a wealth of prestigious outlets that has reached a combined potential audience of over one billion people.
“We are truly grateful for the extensive press coverage Secret Bay has received within such a short timeframe,” commented Gregor Nassief, Owner and Founder of Secret Bay. “This media coverage, referred to as “free press” because it is not something we have paid for – has given Secret Bay and Dominica great international visibility. If just 5% of that potential audience actually discovered Dominica through Secret Bay’s publicity, it would be phenomenal.”
“Dominica is full of many wonderful boutique properties,” continued Nassief. “Beau Rive, Pagau Bay, Papillote, Zandoli, Rosalie Bay, Jungle Bay, Cocoa Cottages, Roots Jungle Retreat, Crescent Moon, Liberty Jungle and many, many more. This boutique and personalised experience is what environmentally-conscious travellers are increasingly seeking, and the international press is taking note.”
To date, Secret Bay has been featured in elite print/online media outlets including CNN, NBC Today Show, Travel + Leisure, New York Times, Sunday Times, The Telegraph, US News & World Report and AFAR Magazine. The total number of over a billion impressions (the number of direct subscribers/readers) was generated by independent auditing site Burrelles/Luce, and/or from the audience number stated in the publication’s media kit or About Us section of its website.
“The attention Secret Bay has garnered in the international travel press in just three years is remarkable,” commented Candice Kimmel, President of Adams Unlimited Public Relations. “We are extremely proud to work with Secret Bay and to have the opportunity to showcase the property to relevant media, which helps to build Secret Bay’s profile as a world-class luxury development.”
In addition to receiving over one billion media impressions, Secret Bay was recently awarded a Top 10 spot in the coveted Smith Hotel 2014 Awards, selected from over 900 boutique hotels worldwide. Noteworthy is that Secret Bay was the only hotel from the Caribbean to make the list. Secret Bay also earned the coveted top spot on TripAdvisor’s “Top 25 Small Hotels in the Caribbean” ranking in its 2013 Travelers’ Choice® Awards as well ranking among the top 5 of its “Top 25 Hotels for Service in the Caribbean” for the past two years running. Secret Bay was also selected by TheKnot.com as one of its top honeymoon destinations in the world in 2012. In 2012, Secret Bay became the first property in Dominica to be named to the highly-regarded “It List” by Travel + Leisure and in November 2013 made the cover of Travel + Leisure. Secret Bay has also won the impressive Development of the Year 2011 recognition at the Caribbean Hotel and Resort Investment Summit.
Congratulations and lots of success. Can’t wait to visit. I will certainly recommend my friends and business colleagues to Secret Bay.

That’s what I like to see, publicity for Dominica, I do hope that Mr. Nassief will help other young Dominicans who are looking to invest in the hotel industry, the more of those we have, the more recognition for the Island and more jobs for young people, I tip my hat to you Mr. Nassief, you are a legend , job well done. Keep up the good work and help the rest of the island to aspire like you did. Dominica is proud of you.
Awesome!
How much of the $1B has brought visits to the hotel and how Has the owners received and how much has trickled down as in trickle down economic theory Mr.N?
congratulation Secret Bay for lifting Dominica up in the international world. We do have pure, natural, ego beauty to expose and enhance the secret of life one needs to conquer, for sane thinking and fresh air. lets join hands and hearts across the sea to spread the good news of our dear country, my people capture the goodness of our feloow men who are making our country proud.
Congratulations Secret Bay!
awesome!
Beautiful, just beautiful! With all of those recognitions, trophy and all of the above approval from all the top advisories, to attract visitors to the Island would that be enough? I don’t think so, Dominica need good air access, its take a year planning for your vacation, money saving to stay in Hotels, you don’t want to transit and spend half of your vacation money before you get to Dominica, let us do what Saint Vincent is doing .

one man took a bold step and invested millions and look at the outcome its incredible
One man invested and Dominica is benifitting so much from it .just think if more persons were to invest not in the same field necessarily ( But competetion brings out the best in us ) jus think of how much a better Dominica we would have instead of just sitting and depending on the Government to do everything
The only thing that matters is the number of people who stay there and the amount of money he makes. This is just a means to an end, not the end.
So excited for Secret Bay… And yes Mr.Nassief there are other wonderful places in Dominica as well thanks for pointing that out!
oh so nobody have anything good to say? ahhh i see …if is money laundering allu had find out the man do, comments would have gone 0-100 ABOUT A WEEK AGOOOOOO! wicked set of people! anyways Mr Nassief your work as always is very commendable. You have taken your business to a place many have said would go nowhere because “is so dominica is…” i congratulate you and wish you all the best and more success in the future. I think a political career as Minister of Tourism is calling your name sir, please answer the call on line 1 of Dominica’s future
This is an amazing accomplishment and I commend your commitment on providing excellent customer service to your guest. This type of exposure is priceless and does not only benefit your hotel but Dominica as a whole. I encourage you to provide training to the various sectors of the tourism industry, let them benchmark some of your processes, show them the benefit of providing genuine care and comfort to their patrons. One of the things lacking in many local businesses is customer care, many employees are not properly trained on how to deal with customers.
Again job well done and I look forward to experiencing your famous establishment.
Congrats Dominica
