Secret Bay to reopen in November 2018

Proprietor of Secret Bay, Gregor Nassief, has promised that the hotel will reopen on November 1, 2018.

The facility has been closed since the passage of Hurricane Maria in September 2017.

Nasseif said the hotel will open with six villas: Zabuco I, II & III, Ylang Ylang I & II and a new, larger Ti-Fèy Villa.

“All Secret Bay villas will now offer private plunge pools,” he stated.

He pointed out that a “centrally-located, sit-down restaurant will offer the same locally-sourced favorites and succulent bites our guests love. We will continue to offer our trademark private, in-villa dining and personalized pre-stocking services.”

He said a yoga, spa and wellness pavilion serve as a riverside destination for intimate wellness classes and luxurious spa treatments.

“The Residences at Secret Bay will also soon press forward, building a rare Dominica real estate offering within the lush embrace of Secret Bay,” Nasseif stated. “This path forward is, undoubtedly, the most trying option, both financially and physically; after all, less than one year pales in comparison to the 6+ it took to first shape our breathtaking, family-owned resort. But thoughtful restoration allows us to strengthen and build upon that which is paramount to our resort’s ethos—the beautiful Secret Bay community, comprised of guests, staff and the living breathing island that has taken root in the hearts of so many around the globe.”

He noted that with the added amenities, Secret Bay is looking forward to providing an even more complete and intimate experience marked “with the same impeccable attention to detail and remarkably-personalized service you know and love.”

good move. dont do like the rest of the tourism industry and try to encourage visitors when you KNOW your tourism product is not ready. You will leave a bad taste in people’s mouths. Good job Gregor. You know your product is high end and requires detail. This is what the rest of the industry needs to do. Take time to refine your products. Pay attention to the smallest detail to enhance your offerings to ENSURE satisfaction and return customers lke Mr. Nassief. you product doesnt need to be as opulent or high end, but have some class. You dont invite strangers into your home when your house is a complete mess. Some say oh people will be out of work until november. Yes, but a number of construction workers, interior designers etc will have work. And once the hotel reopens, the product offered will be superior and of quality ensuring employment for hotel staff in the end, as opposed to rushing a fast thing that discredits the brand that Mr. Nassief has already built. Just my two cents.

Marn sure if this was some textile, manufacturing or some some business to do with agriculture it wouldn’t take that long to get things back rolling and keeping people employed!!!

When David blew down all them bananas, six months after that Farmers were back in business wi,,,

Garcon for the umpteenth time Tourism is just not suited for the Dominican framework for generating a more resilient economic structure,,,

Any economist knows that most economies are built of turning a natural resource into a finished product for general consumption therefor concentration should be in Growing, fabricating, building or even distributing things, to make Dominica more self reliant so the next hurricane that come through we won’t have to be looking to see how much Students that will stay, when the next Cruise Ship Coming or when the next batch of Tourist gonna find Dominca attractive enough to come to,,,

that’s what being truly independent is,,,

Yes, more manufacturing needs to be done, but we dont have any SUITABLE space to house manufacturers. And dont say Canefield Industrial Site. that place is a mess and at full capacity.

There is suitable space, all that Land where Superior Timbers Products used to be,,,

From Long House all the way up the hill to Ross Road all that could be transformed/zoned for an Industrial Park, perfect spot as it’s right there next to the wharf at Long House,,,

If those Lands are individually owned because of the deal GEEST made with its employees then there should be some governmental program to have those people compensated for their Land usage,,,

It’s not hard to find adequate land at Portsmouth, the whole of Point Round is still vacant is just bush dat there,,,

Not even going to talk about how they can research and do testing to see how valuable that aggregate (Tarrish) material quarry there, some of allyou who old enough will remember is that Sentra used to build the road from Possie to Marigot,,,

Mista Dem doh want to see Dominicans truly shine so they will keep doing what it takes to keep progressive people down,,,

    So, where is the hotel?

The what appears to be a wooden shack in the middle of the bush among the trees?

Francisco you are a fool. or maybe just playing devil’s advocate.

        Thank you madam/sir!

        Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

But; I doh see any hotel eh; all that the fool see is something looking brown, something like a big wooden shack in the bush, I do not see anything indicating there is a place of of business, or a hotel!

If I was a tourist, I doubt living in the bush would be my choice of places to stay. I read on DON where they said they are targeting Canada as one of their tourist market.

Now, I am privileged to drive across America, and Canada, and Mexico, where I see big bush, thousands of times more than Dominica has; however, I have never seen a hotel in middle of any bush or mountain.

They are always located within civilization!

So wait nuh, please tell Marn what allyou commending Mista for???

      1) the fact that he has stopped locals from visiting the natural wonder of Secret Beach and its Cave???

      2) the fact that there is now real benefit to the general Public for his establishment???

      3) the fact that his establishment will only Benefit him and his likes and will forever leave servants making little or no real money at the behests of his guests??? or

      4) that mista came from a pedigree of some foreigners whom have for decades taken advantage of Dominica and Dominicans while putting naught back into the economy to sustenance some kind of Public good???
For decades these Syrians have been taking from Dominica and have not given anything back, and all you still there giving mistaDem Commendations???
Look at Coconut Beach, it was another Syrian that did that so all you should know that’s how this place is going to be 20 to 30 years from now,,,

I think I have to agree with you on this one. I used to have a bit of respect for Gregor but not anymore. He used to critizise the government a lot in the beginning but all over sudden he is singing Skerrits praises and quite a few occasions. Perhaps it is cheaper to get money from the government from there passport scheme, after all it does not have to be paid back. The same apply to Sam, once an outspoken critic of the government but all of a sudden ‘in bed together’.
