CARICOM leaders to participate in international conference on Venezuela

CARICOM Chairman, St Kitts-Nevis Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris, will lead a Caribbean Community (CARICOM) delegation to Uruguay for an international meeting on the ongoing political situation in Venezuela.

The Caribbean Media corporation (CMC) is reporting that Barbadian prime minister, Mia Mottley and Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister, Dr keith Rowley, will also be part of the CARICOM delegation.

This latest move by CARICOM leaders was preceded by a video conference on Thursday in which the leaders discussed ways to end the situation in Venezuela where Opposition Leader Juan Guaidó, backed by the United States and several other western countries, has declared himself the interim leader of the South American country.

However, President Nicolas Maduro, who was sworn into office last month for a second consecutive term as head of state, does have support from some countries including Russia, China and Cuba.President

The CARICOM meeting on Thursday was attended by regional leaders or their foreign ministers from Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts- Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

CARICOM Secretary General Irwin LaRocque also participated.

The governments of Mexico and Uruguay have called for the conference on February 7 with representatives from the main countries and international organisations that hold a neutral position towards Venezuela.

Simon Bolivar Liberated the South American Mainland with a vast group of Haitian Soldiers/ Freedom fighters , some of us may have to show the same solidarity and stand on the side of Political justice . In truity , the US have destabilized the Venezuelan Republic , it took them 20yrs of planning and sanctions to destroy Socialism in venezuela and beyond . The help of the LIMA group who are the descendants of European conquest , have definitely supported the status quo , in tandem with Europe . The Battle for Venezuela , will happen a few miles off the British colony of Dominica , WHE WHE .

How comes I ain’t hearing nothing from these so-called Prime Minister friends of Maduro in the Eastern Caribbean region such as Roosevelt as to how they looking to send financial & aid resources for the struggling people of Venezuela at this time?

Seems some of these Caribbean leaders expertise is in the field of uttering copious amounts of vacuous fancy sounding words & phrases into a microphone.

Where Roosevelt nuh? Unnu, tell mister to send dem ‘dress like ninja-turtle’ riot police of his (that like to fire tear gas behind people) to Venezuela to help with the security situation down there. Skerrit forget about the military section of the ALBA agreement or wha?

The Americans and some other nations, whom the Maduro lovers claim are against Venezuela, are at least making attempts to send tangible humanitarian aid & resources to the people of Venezuela.

Channel 1 you are either very naive or looking at the issue with politically coloured lenses. Note that the CARICOM countries which have been leading the CARICOM discussions are countries that are not regarded as close allies of the Maduro Government – countries that hold a neutral position on venezuela! It should be obvious why that would be so.
I guess that Channel 1 supports regime change as promoted by the US!

You all sitting there waiting to see how it affecting your pocket before you making noise, be honest.. How you expect us, the common people to respect you like that when you want us to vote for you?
