The seven young ladies, who will vie for the title of Miss Dominica 2015, had an opportunity to sign their contracts on Friday.

The contestants are Normanna Jno Baptiste, 24 from Tarish Pit, Keianna John, 22 of Salisbury, Odessa Elie, 19 from Bath Estate, Beyandra Blanchard from Point Michel, Charis Nation, 20 from Castle Bruce, Patrice Dorsette, 20 from Marigot and Kelcia Righton, 21 from Kingshill.

Chairperson of the Queen Show Committee, Romualda Hyacinth said over the past eight years Dominica has measured a record of success at regional pageants.

“Our reigning queens have gone to the Miss Carival, Miss Jaycees, Miss Caribbean Culture, Miss Caribbean World and Miss World competitions and have done well,” she said at the contract signing ceremony held at the office of the Dominica Festival Committee (DFC). “For instance from 2007 to 2014 we have won Miss Carival, Miss Jaycees, Miss Caribbean Culture four times each and Miss Caribbean World twice. Whether titles were not won by Dominica, the contestants placed first or second.”

According to Hyacinth, the 2015 Carnival Queen Show will be one filled with elegance, class and most of all, “a showcase of brain and beauty.”

She stated further that, the journey for the young ladies will be a challenging one, “but all the young ladies will testify to the fact this pageant is a life challenging experience.”

The contestants are expected to compete in four rounds: costume, performing talent, swim wear, evening wear and question and answer.

“The general public and potential sponsors will have a chance to view what the ladies have to offer at the Queen Show Pre-Show on Saturday 20, December 2014,” Hyacinth revealed.

Meanwhile, product promotions manager and events director at the DFC, Kathy Cuffy Jno-Jules, said the committee is very pleased with the seven selected beauties and is confident that they will perform exceptionally well and serve as good ambassadors for Dominica.

She urged businesses to come on board early to sponsor the young ladies.

“It is all about partnership,” she noted. “Partnership is a critical component in ensuring the successful 2015 Carnival for Dominica. Your support, in the form of sponsorship, will continue to be sought as a we have always done in the pass. We urge you to come on board early to symbolize your respective commitment and support to one of Dominica’s biggest event.”

So far Odessa Elie, who is a teacher of the Convent High School, is the only contestant to have received full sponsorship from BIG EDGE and first time sponsor, Miniyas 7/11 Mini Mart.

The pageant is expected to take place on Friday 13, February 2015 at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

The winner of Ms Dominica 2015 will come from a humble rural community. And that is Castle Bruce so Charis Nation will be victorious in the upcoming pageant. She is humble, caring, considerate, helpful, photogenic, talented, and she great at question and answers. She is the true Ms Dominica 2015 :-D   :-D

Hello and good evening my people. First I want to congratulate all the ladies and may the one who best impress the judges win. Now DNO why can’t you attached a photograph of the ladies to their name and why would you put a photo where one can’t see the face of some of the ladies. Don’t you have a quality control specialist on staff.
