National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD), once again teamed up with the Portsmouth Town Council to bring joy and Christmas cheer to a large crowd in Boroughs Square, Portsmouth.
The annual Christmas Carolling event was held on Saturday, 17th December and was well attended by NBD staff and members of the Northern community.
Eleven choirs, groups and individuals, performed, creating a festive atmosphere filled with the spirit of Christmas. One member of NBD described the event as one of high standard. She stated that “the choirs went all out with their performances and really showed the level of talent in the north of the island.”
Executive Manager, Marketing for NBD, Suzanne Joseph-Piper, said that she felt “the true spirit of Christmas alive in Portsmouth. The event was extremely well attended and we are happy to be part of the northern community and to bring the event to this audience every year.”
The Bank says that the annual event is made possible through its continued relationship with the dedicated team at the Portsmouth Town Council and the community.
Ian Douglas, Parliamentary representative for the Portsmouth Community, spoke at the event citing it as the heralding of the true Christmas spirit in the community. He noted that the Christmas Carolling event was one that was growing every year and commended the NBD for playing a leading role in the socio-cultural development of Portsmouth.
The event included a well-lit Christmas tree and music by the NBD Possie Culture Pan. NBD also visited the Colihaut Primary School earlier this month to host the Bank’s annual children’s christmas party.
that’s great keep the good work.
Thats the christmas spirit.
DNO is the Media and really cannot be everywhere. Those who organize them should inform DNO so that a reporter will attend, take some pictures and then report on the occasion. This is the manner in which it works everywhere. If it is an important function the Media is notified and will attend. It should be understood that it must be well-worth DNO’s time. Time means money.
Exactly DNO, just send a press release.
bit disappointing … DNO reports on the carol event …. no mention of the street lighting …. They even have an article on Peebles Park lighting in Roseau … again no mention of similar efforts in our town . A truly collaborative effort … The DOMLEC guys need a big thanks … they really put in a shift Saturday.. and of course all the contributors who helped .Just to list them here .. Ross University , Eye Kandi, Cynthia Wenham , HHV Whitchurch, Portsmouth Community Watch Foundation, Portsmouth Credit Union , NAPA, NBD, Rudolf Thomas & Sons, Structural Solutions(W.I), APP Electricals and , of course, Fuzzwire UK who gave us the lights
ADMIN: We cannot be everywhere at the same time. If an event such as the one you mentioned took place, please send us a release and we will be more than happy to publish it..
