An operation by the Drug Squad and the Marine Unit of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force has resulted in the seizure of 127 packages of cocaine in Coulibistrie, worth over $4-million.
The items were found on the shoreline on the western community and weigh 156 kilograms (343.921 pounds).
Inspector Simon Edwards said two men are now in custody in relation to the bust.
He stated the operation took place on Monday, July 3 at about 6:24 pm.
He said the illegal substance has an estimated street value of EC$4,158,000.
One fishing vessel, powered by 2 85 Yamaha engines, was seized and secured by the Marine Unit.
The two men now in custody have not been charged.
Investigations are ongoing, Edwards said.
People continue to fume when I mention the gospel, but I keep reading about drugs, busts, and arrests.
The people need to realize two things.
(1) It is the big men at the top that the police should be going after not the pusher on the corner,
in the bar, school yard, or park. They do not want to touch the kingpin, or the drug lord. Why? Because he may be a government official, or even one of their own.
(2) It is the demand that drives the supply. As long as people crave, want, and ask for drugs there will be a drug trade. What is most needed is the healing of the soul to eliminate the desire for drugs. This hidden need is spiritual. It cannot be met by a pill, an injection, smoked, or sniffed up your nose. It can only be cured by Jesus Christ.
The individual must know that the price was paid in full when Christ died on the cross and rose again, and receive Christ as his (or her) personal Savior. At this time a change and transformation takes place.

In the New Testament of your Bible it is called being saved or born again. It means your sins are forgiven,
you have eternal life. But it is also an inner healing, a deliverance from the power and hold of sin. It is the cure for drug addiction.
That is why I say the answer to the drug problem is the clear preaching of the gospel
as t is defined in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, and Romans 1:16, when it is accompanied by the faithful teaching of the Holy Scriptures. This will dry up the demand for drugs which will cut off the supply.
The Bible says *Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, …*

If you are caught with a joint your photo will be up for everyone to see. However, if the drugs are in the Millions of Dollars; hehh, that means some BIG BIG Fish is involved – So BIG FISH PROTECTING BIG FISH. If i was dealing drugs I’d go real BIG.
Great! Let them sell it first, then deposit that money into the national treasury. In fact, here goes your financing for a few trash compactor garbage trucks, plus the new bridge for the West Coast. I’m always curious about the difference between the reported amount in the press and the real amount that was actually seized. Usually, there’s a marked difference.
Those guys who neatly parked the powder on de table, were probably touching their nose every second.
I wonder who’s in charge to watch over these White Gold! Be careful with our Fort Knox, wi!!
Massacre! You have two suspects, why don’t you name them. The two robots Skerrit must go, where are they now? waiting to be programmed.
Hello gang was the comish then .The veryone who re-routed the political motor cade in 1995 in favor of the opposition the veryone who could not be helped before the commission of inquiry in 97-98.
Good job on the part of the Police .
However , a more in depth investigation needs to be carried out into the destination and likely recipients of this dangerous chemical.
Also could the police lay in wait and monitor the drop off, transportation and see whose hands are transferring what and where? Or maybe CDPF does not have the resources to do these simple tasks?
CDPF, has been intercepting drugs and drug operations far too long for them not to know how to set-traps for these drug dealers.
Or, maybe some commanders did not want to know or want to embarrass/arrest the recipients, because of who they are? A lot of questions still need to be asked.
I for the life of me cannot understand why and how the POLICE do not have the resources to organize a sting to catch the real king pins . It happened with the guns on the port and now again with an estimated 4 million worth haul . That is not something which could be shifted just like that . Don’t we have undercover officers ? I am not convinced those two arrested have the resources and knowledge to plan this . Someone else knows the contacts , planned and mobilized this , With the impromptu handling , the top guys now have an opportunity to cover their tracks . The only hope is that the two arrested will talk , but will they ? They could just take the fall all by themselves ,as these officers these days, do not seem to have the capability of completing a real successful and productive interrogation .
SOME BIG GUY , TOP BRASS LIVES TO TRY AGAIN , and not make the same mistake twice , trust me , next time , and the next one is going to get through .
Since when we need a 85 hp engine to go fishing in de canal , far less for two ?
we used to hit Martinique in less than an hour on a good day with a 60hp, now man have 85 and upwards ,
where they going so nah, Columbia itself ? Helicopters we go need to chase them man down wee.
Do we have one nah ?
My little village Coulibistrie…..my God
Nothing to do with Coulibistrie, is only there they parked their drugs off shore like a fad I hear.
the two that were in custody because they had no connections to this. they were not picked up anywhere close to were the drugs were found. they were only picked up because they were the first boat the police came upon after discovering the drugs
done&done, Marcus Hill and Dorival John grow up, act like grown men that you are supposed to be. Always making a mockery and negative you are. It is like you all are the smartest. Please get off yourselves and give kudos where it is due instead of all the negative talks you all indulge in. Give some positive suggestion. My own to you come down to DA to investigate and do the work which you think you can do better than the police. I think you would do a better job. Ain’t it?
I don\’t think that was a drug bust.which kingpin would let his guys drop all that coke at such an hour and in public view.this is what I think happened 1.the drugs were dropped between one am and three am but was not picked up some one saw it and called the police 2. The kingpin could not get sale or was tired with all that drug and wanted to do away with it and dropped it there..who does drug trafficking at such an hour.this time is big daylight still. Who so foolish to deliver drugs at such an hour in broad daylight.i hope none of my friends or relative was involved.work for NEP instead
Dear Scared,
I think that U better go and see the bigger boss of NEP and ask him a question about the DRUG, HE WILL surely answer U
You all are not fooling me in D/ca no more, things are to glaring now, listen and U will see if U will hear any thing about that GRUG again,” as usual”
where do you destroy that drug? why are people like that, turns every one into “gravity” by making them paro? then, when murder, stealing, craziness occur, no mental institute to help them.
waiting to hear how many dead after this boss. good job to the police.
Good work! Congratulations to the Drug Squad for this exorbitant catch of packages of cocaine. To note that it was in the early evening. You have been at it, performing your job.
Do you mean: The two men in custody have not ‘yet’ been charged?” We hope they will soon be charged and then proceed to calling the case. I would not recommend granting them bail. There is too much of that in Dominica. Bail will not deter them from trafficking in drugs.
The drug squad are to be commended, now let the rest of the force become more proactive,
I will live to see the day when cocaine have to flood the street of Dominica because to many young people are unemployed, and have no other choice than to getting involved in the naco trade. This is just the beginning. The struggle is real
Cocaine flooding the streets of Dominica has NOTHING to do with young people being unemployed, but everything to do with them dying and/or killing others. You’re one troubled individual! Why in God’s name would you want to “live to see the day?” Can you wish or expect something more positive? Why can’t you wish for all of the crimes and drama in this petite island to cease? I’m troubled that you’re troubled. Seek some mental health. You sound like a paro or a paro in the making. pray for DA.
At least some of us have a sense humour. Gravy is in a 5 star hotel. He can bugger-off, eat smoke pork,,red beans and porridge, who wouldn’t talk. The police should now, get a dummy, put it in hospital bed and said, Gravy is sick and taken to hospital, then you look out for visitors. I WAS LOOKING FOR IT.They catch me.
every story has two sides, the positive and the negative, let us look at the positive, it is said an army marches on its stomarch, so to Dominicans are now grabbing at any straw and since only C B I responsible to bring in foreign exchange our people are desparate, and desperate times brings desparate measures; on the other side we do not process cocain in Dominica, just look at the impact on our society, murder, theft,, parrows, we should definitely use our thinking cap to see what other possible investment can one get into, they have taken their chances and now has lost everything kudos to the police job well done. though we are sesperate but we should stop bringing cocain onto this beautiful nature island, legalize ganga and export it big time do like St Vincent.
Charge Gravity for it because he is the one committing all crimes in DA these days, and he already at Stockfarm and by the way we prefer to see him where he is there than on the streets harassing tourists in Roseau. So let’s make the police job easy and blame him for Everything that happens in Dominica, including Passport monies that can’t be accounted for
Look my Cat just got killed!!!! I know is that “Gravity” guy. All you killing me wi!!!! Don’t say it’s Gravity this time. Oh lawd, look laugh, tan Poor ole Gravity. They say you never beat a dying horse; But Gravity getting blows like ole close.
How does dat fit in there nah? Boring.
Anyways ?????? good job officers.
Mr. Daniel Carbon keep working. You and your guys are on track.
Good police community relationship.
More to come soon.
The law of gravity = all must fall down.
Can you prove he is innocent?
That is not how the system works.
The burden is on the court to prove he is guilty!
Sincerely. Rev. Donald Hill.
Done&done what are you trying to say?????????????
it arrived in dominica but doesn’t stay there, we dont have all this consumers for all of this;
Oh really is that so… are you sure about that with this police! Hmmm False accusing innocent young men’s! Hope they damage it and show that they did!? Silliness
When the police do well, give them their due accolades without any qualifications. They should be lauded with praise in this instance for their good work. When they do sloppy jobs criticize them harshly. Congratulations to the men and women of the Dominica Police Force for confiscating such a huge quantity of illegal drugs and preventing so many young and not so young souls from ingesting this potent poison.
what good work? They are holding Two kids
Shut up dummy what r u saying weather its young kids or not its less shit on our DA streets damn it bunch of fools good job Smokey the cops
The DEA based in Barbados tipped off the dominica authorities on this major drug bust, Dominica’ gov’t will only stand and take notice when DEA officers step into the Island, and arrest certain Dominican nationals in high standing. The men arrested will take the blame, but the hidden hands of high ranking Dominicans are lurking in the shadows, the money paid upfront for this amount of cocaine didn’t come from the average Dominican, the established Dominican business men , together with high ranking gov’t and police officials, are always the forces behind the drug trade. The murders in Dominica should say something, the God,expected to be listening to your cries, will undoubtably stay silent, where big money and wealth is concerned, mouth stays shut. Bob.
Nice, Juust another normal day in coulibistrie, that’s what the next level look like, Living in a gangstars paradise
Celebrate the Police we should for this drug bust. More pernicious to our still “peaceful, wholesome” community is the shadowy drug king pins hiding behind the mules who;re doing what they can to live. Until we target those with the motivation and the tools to use DA as transshipment point in the drugs trade, we will never even dent the problem of the plying and use of illegal drugs. Now that we have those two in custody, what is the strategy for getting them to finger their employer?
THUMBS UP! Congratulation keep up the good work.
BREAKING NEWS: Police to charge “Gravity” for cocaine bust in Coulibistrie. They say he directed the operation from his cell at Stock Farm where he is being held for three murders.
Yes “Gravity” “confessed” to this crime a few minutes ago it is alleged.
Definitely my man, he admitted he financed the deal.
@ Dorival John, what are you saying he is involved? Or maybe you know something we do not know yet and looking for an alibi.
Good observation ??????????
It is sarcasm on their part, using his name as a pun and not to be taken seriously. The police will not respond to their foolishness which is also ignorance and reckless words.
We must think beyond and read between the lines. You know that a man as Gravity, in his state of mind, could not possibly do that. He does not have that clout. Furthermore, would drug traffickers of especially that nature befriend him, trust him to be a dealer and from detecting them?
You do know Gravity must be in detention or in the State Prison. As far as you and I know, he committed some murders. In his insanity, tell those who spew sarcasm as this on this Website, to leave him alone and his name out of this.
If Gravity is really not in his good frame of mind as we say, know that God will overlook his acts. This is why the Law does not really sentence a proven insane man but only put him away for the safety of society and his, whether in an asylum or in prison. Comprehend that.
Dorival was being SARCASTIC!
That is true…..Gravity asked me to be quiet and I would get 5 packs. Someone sold out Gravity and it was not me
Lol????nice one
stupesss be real.
“Good job.” But you know there had to be a rat. Because DA police not good at catching roaches without the help of a rat.
We need more rats to flush out these cockroaches.
So thank God for the rat
Again and again the police have told us they cannot do it alone. They need the co-operation and help of the public. If there was a rat it is an example of this.
After years of observation in Canada I can confirm that cocaine is a dangerous, destructive, and deadly drug.
I have seen it totally mess up minds. In a small town where I ministered at a church there was a millionaire business man. He was success personified with his own business and employees. This man began doing the white stuff. Soon he was going from woman to woman. He hired a hit man to kill his wife and died in
prison. Many similar true stories could be told.
For the police to make a cocaine bust this size is an incredible victory in the war against crime with far reaching implications. Only God knows what they have saved the public from. Congratulations Please keep up the good work.
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. (Diploma in Drug Studies)
Are you glad there was rat, or don’t you want the police to improve?
When last you caught a roach and how many?
I did tell all you some time ago and many people gave me the toms down. I’ll say it again : DOMINICA HAS SOME BEAUTIFUL AND COLORFUL HOUSES. AND DEM OWNERS DRIVING NICE AUTOMOBILES. GO GET THEM. But again, some government “officials” not making that much money to have such wealth. Go figure that one out. seize those illegal asset across the board and sent a clear message in Dominica and the Caribbean. I’m working hard and putting 60 hrs. a week; and could hardly put a decent meal before my family; and you have PIMPS out there doing JACK, and having all their hearts desires. I think back on my late dear Mother RIP my dearest – She told her children, never, ever be envious of people because of what they have. Thanks you Mum. What a legacy to leave for your children.
Sounds like you not following her advice.
you need to take your mother’s advice hun… you sound like a hater…
Your mother’s words were the same as my mother’s. They are worth passing on.
Cheer up, be patient and consoled. Persevere in the good you are doing. One day, before God you will reap the benefits of your hard work for you and your family. Just think! Where might the others be?
God is patient. This is why Our Lord said: “Do not judge.” One day everyone will receive their just recompense as they deserve based on their works.
Ur mom is probably ashamed because you sound angry and jealous haha…stop hate and build ur colorful house too…
I don’t think u lists to ur mother, u sound like u jealous. Yes u work hard to put a meal on the table but it looking like u watching others plate ur food getting cold. Let d police do their Jo if u wanted to stop drugs u should have join s force. Mean while stop hate
Back to the street it goes any way ..to kill and distroy
Most, if not all is not meant for our streets, D’a is only a trans-shipment point. I hear cartels now use planes to drop off so I’m quite sure police will find many.
“destroy”
All you better keep them in there for 40 years because of they come out
Gravity do that!
The drug squad has been, and continues to try to do its job under the most discouraging conditions. The courts have been sabotaging and frustrating the efforts of the drug squad. Let’s hope that this is not deja vu, drug seizure, then naught! The courts need to regain the confidence and trust of the citizens.
He said the illegal substance has an estimated street value of EC$4,158,000
That’s only 7-8 passports sale for any of those hand picked lawyers and persons with family ties and the potos. Which is a better source of revenue for the economy?
lol depends on which side you are on. being a pastor poto l’eglaize don’t change nothing.
You can get funds to fix ur church, home etc. even toilet to replace ur latrine.
If the salesmen & women could haveaccess to 2 diplomatic passports they would be good.
But sad to say one would have to be on the secret holders list to sell diplomatic passport and the list might be 3 only lol
Lots of investers in DA lost alot of money..
Not lots, there not that many mister “Bigs” in Dominica. Police and govt. know who is the kingpin but they are not touching this one. Why?
COCAINE… the devil in powder form….I know first hand what this drug does… I didn’t hear it from nobody… GREAT job by the police….. I will applaud you guys everyday for tackling this evil drug, instead of going and harasss ganja farmers in our bush, try and find out who is responsible for shipping that quantity of cocaine to our shores…. I was one of the lucky one’s to make it out with my life….. so many funerals I’ve had to go to… friends of mine murdering other friends of mine, If Dominicans had any idea what this drug COCAINE brings with it they would be shaking to know that this quantity of COCAINE has made it to our shores….every gram of that stuff is as dangerous as a loaded gun on our streets among our youth.
If it was weed I would take for allu but cocaine to destroy am outtttt
Waiting to see how the government is going to be critizied by workers supporters for the police force doing a good job. Most of them who comment on dno articles have a problem with everything
man just shut your pimply rear end and let people have their opinions….
so they can have their opinions but I cannot have one? The irony and stupidity in what you say. You seem to know a lot about rear ends too.
YOU ARE ARE JACK ASS
What it much more pertinent than whatever criticisms come from workers’ supporters is the outcome of this case because far too often, these perpetrators get away quite freely or with very minimal penalty.
Workers’ supporter of not, I personally have my very deep concerns regarding government’s / authorities seriousness about lessening drug related crime in our island
What is the sense of these drug bust when there are never successful prosecution? Of all the major drug bust we have heard about over the years, can you give me one instance where someone was successfully prosecuted and sent to prison? These guys get bail after two weeks and that’s the end of the matter. I believe that these drug busts are publicity stunts by the police to fool the public into thinking that the are actually doing something because in reality they are doing nothing and have to find ways to justify the tax page dollars being dumped in the police force. Murderers, rapist, child molesters, money launderers, kidnappers, thieves all walk free because of the incompetence of the CDPF. The police need to start doing some real work and stop this show boating, they are only fooling the most gullible and themselves.
I wouldn’t be so harsh as to blaming the CDPF for lack of prosecution. It is really the fault of government and the DPP who in their infinite wisdom is ill equipped to deal with modern crime punishment. Little or no training across the board is the culprit, and the government is to be blamed.
You are so correct, they send people to jail for stealing salt fish, a little sugar but yet the drug dealers get bail and are never prosecuted’ I agree with one of the previous writer about all those big house and cars some of these people have and most of them cannot say where they work or where the money coming from. One has to wonder how many loads like this bypass the police.
My bro don’t be naive I bet my last dim some govt official head hurting him over this take by the police cause that’s their investment there. Then again you can count on that govt official having an arse police on his payroll ready to sneak a couple packages to someone on the outside to take to Guadeloupe for cooking and resale.
The level of corruption in this place we call Dominica us of the likes never before seen and only since the entry of the devil incarnate SKERRIT into the helm of this once Paradise.
#Don’t write you don’t want a real response to.
Wi mama! I wonder of all of that was for Dominica or Dominica was a transition point…whatever the case kudos to the police….now somebody blood maybe boiling.
Some of it may have been in transit , waiting for the right moment to be shipped out elsewhere and to various places.
That’s what they good at. Only drugs. Good job.
good job make sure it dont disappear.
Great Job!!! Congratulations to the Drug Squad on their find. Continue the good work. Keep Dominicans safe.
Hi Scarsdale,NY, wad up? Great job I agree DA( if it’s still ours) seeing there are more Ordinary & Diplomatic y passports . Some /many maybe of the illusion that drugs are our cardinal problem but it ain’t. Our local hypocrites are the problem.First the gave us (one guy who they thought they could use like in the old days as Governors etc. Recall those plantation days?) This guy ,although an idiot clear to all has some hypocrites advising him in competition with the other hypos within. He got away initially with the land transfer. then all hell broke loose. The next move was the signing of the MOU with the Sinos. First time in our history a D/can Gov’t received such large sums of money the got bazoodi. Locals graduated from cast rum to scotch etc.according to Pipip they started sucking chicken bones-those toothless ones while those with teeth began biting despite being spineless. Amongst em lawyers presidents clergy foolish bz people etc . 2b continued.
It’s extremely interesting to note is the sudden change today 2017 and the epoch of the 80-90’s when all attempts to burst drug landings etc ended in failure as the drug men were notified whilst the drug squad was en-route. -No need here to elaborate we all know why. It did not get explored in the commission of inquiry of 1997. Now is this a Red herring drug burst or what? Those of us with ears to the ground wanna know.
Scarsdale, you see what’s happening with all the distractions with Trump here? We are bz worrying with all Trumps silliness while he and his billionaire team push their agenda through.
The same is ongoing on our rock DA. We need real concerned D/cans (not jokers like UWP & DFP whats left of em.)to take action now. reds are camoflaged as Neo REDS.
It’s an urgency.
GOOD JOB, make sure it does not disappeared while in police custody.[lol]
Children
My my what are u all doing to our child can you all go and make garden
