Delroy Samuel may face trial at the High Court of Justice for stealing panties and rasta hats from a Roseau store.
Samuel, who appeared before Magistrate Evelina Baptiste this morning, was accused of burglarising Maz Enterprises situated on Great George Street on August 6, 2010.
According to his charge, Samuel entered as a trespasser into the said building and stole 10 bra and panty sets, 10 ladies panties, 1 cap for men, 32 rasta hats and a perfume. The total cost for these items was $2,200.
His trial was set to March 20, 2011
The defendant was not required to be plead since burglary is an indictable offense to be heard before a judge and jury at the High Court.

He needs to go out there and find himself gainful employment, however small it is or go into planting vegetables, as the last time I was on holiday in Dominica, the farmers who plant all that wholesome, fantastic organicly grown vegetables made a fortune and occasionally didn’t have enough to sell to the public. (THAT WAS LOVELY TO SEE AND THE PRODUCE TASTE SO HEAVENLY AS WELL!)
The ethos in people’s minds of opportunistic behaviour is unacceptable and must be changed ‘as nothing is free in life’, which corresponds with ‘life is what you make of it or put into it’.
This is not a political issue but a social/moral one.
Perhaps the culprit and other opportunistic individuals like him should be ‘named and shamed’ in public settings, with a stipulation for them to clean up cities, towns and villages, is a good way to start, with them wearing blightly illuminated attire, under strict supervision of course.
The humiliation of it all, and them having to give back via community service (in broad day light) is a great way to start to get them to seek redemtion and possibly turn their lives around in the process.
