@Roseau….Weekes is older than Commissioner Carbon so the only way to the top is IF Carbon retires, get fired, resigns, is seconded to another Government Department at equal or higher pay etc.

Congrats comrade Weekes, this one is well deserving and as a matter of fact overdue. But god always takes care of his own so keep on working. Please do not let it get to your head and start acting like you are better than others which is what some police achieving a rank where they get saluted start doing. But Change Must Come.

      Assertive, NOT Agressive!

Bold and honest move by this new no-nonsense commissioner. I pray God’s hands upon his life and blessings too. I also hope he no one tyries to mess with him because he is out for justice and that is how a real commissioner is to behave,. This Mr Carbon is a very bold man, Has a little sense of humur but rules fairly and squarely. Trust me sir you are one of those the whole nations loves and respect. It is because the nation love and respect you that is why you and your men are making dents into the drug trade, clamping down on crime etc. More people are supporting the crime stoppers hotline something we have never seen in the past. Sir Dominicans respect you let move on. Keep it up.

that officer is a serious man and he helps a lot in shaping young people and I am happy for him because I have seen his worth. He is always neat, well spoken, firm and he does his job. He is very involved in other things that benefit others. I wish him well. No one is perfect but he is a model police officer for real. well done Police Service Commission I heard he is in the force already for twenty five years, wow. Keep going sir.

16 new appoinments and only ONE female officer get promoted!!! The way to go for gender equality even in a paramilitary organization like the CDPF. It must be me that cannot recognize female names but again these days names are unisex!!!

I thought these things were done on merit?

    • POSTAGE
      December 11, 2013

well this is because of the ratio of males to females within the police force so its just a reflection.

    • blind bat
      December 11, 2013

That’s not correct I clearly recall a short time ago two female officers each got acting appointments to Inspector of Police. I think they are Powell and Edwards. Also we have to consider the ratio of male to female and also those who are eligible for upward mobility whether they be male of female.

    • C
      December 12, 2013

pound per pound, there is a higher ratio of women in supervisory positions than men in the force. So go do your reserch.
