Two men, whom the police were searching for in relation to a shooting incident in Eggleston have been taken into custody.
They were arrested in Eggleston on Thursday morning in a police operation.
DNO was told the operation was peaceful after the two surrendered to the police.
The police had earlier revealed that the two men, Jeremy Gustave and Randolph Gustave, could assist them as they investigate the shooting death of Glen Alphonse in a bus at Eggleston on July 5.
Alphonse died at the Princess Margaret Hospital from a gunshot wound to the chest.
DNO is following this developing story.
The matter must be tried asap to avoid loss of evidence such as sickness of pathologist and investigating officer etc. Witnesses could travel abroad etc. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Words are very important especially coming from government officials. But I take a different stance. The rule of law in any civilized society is such that all the facts have to be gathered and the court, NOT the police, is the one to cast Judgment. Regardless of the circumstance, we do not want to set a precedence whereby eye witness accuses and police cast judgment. Police Investigate and enforce laws of the land, Witnesses as well as the accused aids in the investigation willingly or under interrogation. You are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of Law. We can rest assured that the culprits will be brought to Justice and pay for such a brutal act which has further decays the state of security on my sweet Dominica.

They have to be guilty; that is the reason they surrendered; for the people of Eggleston would never encourage them to remain in hiding, knowing what they have done; for just like the people of Giraudel they are God fearing people.
And this is God’s Will; because of our faith and trust in Him, He will avenge the killers of Glen Alphonse, my sister’s first son; my nephew. May His Will be done for our sake, as we will continue to give Him the glory; we will continue to thank Him and praise Him, in Jesus name.

The sad thing is the conviction rate is low for murder in Dominica which is very upsetting. If the 2 that are accused of this crime can afford a big time attorney they will likely beat the case, and if the police can’t find the firearm that was used to murder this man then the 2 accused will walk free due to lack of evidence. Great work by the police which should be commended. We should adopt a zero tolerance attitude on crime especially murders. We cannot allow ourselves to become so desensitized to crime that when a murder is committed we just shrug it off and carry on like it’s a norm.
