A young man is a patient at hospital after he was stabbed multiple times in Roseau.
The incident occurred on Monday night at about 11:30 pm.
Reports are that Mitchel Joseph, popularly known as Dish, of Portsmouth was stabbed in his lower abdomen by unknown assailants in the vicinity of a hotel.
It is reported that the stabbing took place during an altercation between young men from Portsmouth and Roseau.
Dish is said to be in stable condition at the hospital.
He is one of five men out on bail for the allegedly robbery of the Marigot Credit Union on March 9.
Police say investigations are continuing.

So you should be a witness when he goes to Court. Keep in mind there are two sides to a story and sometimes three with all involved, accusing the other and trying to protect themselves so as to avoid jail (more) time.

They almost murdered him which must have been their intentions. He was out on bail for theft of an exorbitant amount and he was out at 11:30 pm? One would think, being out on bail, he would stay out of trouble and remain indoors in the evening, a time where trouble could brew and occurs. The man should have been indoors and sleeping.
If he was bailed for such a serious offence, surely conditions should have been set during his release, as a nightly curfew.
If I recall reading the $34,000 and more which was stolen has not been found. This man should not have been released at all.
If he is at fault in this altercation, even though he was injured, when he is released from the hospital, he should be sent back to prison until his case is called. This may also be for his protection. Surely after the hearing he will not be acquitted.

Once again, idleness, lack of compassion, lack of coherent thought, lack of simple common sense have landed another youngster in hospital. I wonder what is the “serious” issue that resulted in this latest incident.
Oh yes, some of us will happily blame it on the government but as I tell my teenage son, government is not his scapegoat. He is responsible for his thoughts, his actions and his reactions.
I hope to hear more of this incident of course, let us hope that this young man overcomes his injury. While we pray for his recovery, let us also pray that he is not spending his time planning retribution and that he does not leave the hospital only to return or send someone else there in a body bag.

What is the matter with you? DNO is reporting the news, no matter where or how it happened. By now, all Dominicans and some non-Dominican visitors know about the criminal situation in Dominica. It is no different in other islands and bigger countries. It is up to them to visit or not. The altercation and stabbing occurred near a hotel. This means they were loitering in the area. If the hotel has security they could patrol the vicinity to deter loiterers and to ensure the safety of its patrons. They could also ask for the assistance of the police force.

Where were the Police they need to petrol the streets of Roseau. Young men are going around destroying private property at nights and sending stones and beating up people and there are no police in sight.
