Nicholas is said to be on the run in Antigua

A Dominican, who has been linked to a $9-million drug bust in Antigua, is said to be on the run in that country.

He has been identified as Darion Anthony Nicholas by the National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) in Antigua.

Head of the ONDCP, Colonel Edward Croft said he, along with a Jamaican, is being sought in connection with an illegal drug operation, according to the Antigua Observer.

According to the Observer, during the early hours of Monday, February 15, 2016, the ONDCP conducted an operation in the Comfort Hall/Willikies Village area which resulted in the seizure of approximately 2,493 pounds of Cannabis, 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition and a small vessel.

The drug had an estimated wholesale value of EC $ 9,975,000, the newspaper reports.

Nicholas is considered to be armed and dangerous and ONDCP is asking Antiguans to immediately report any sightings of him or his Jamaican partner.

Look at his face! He is a handsome man. What a waste of life. Why did you not choose to continue your studies and attend college or university? There is no harm and fear in this. Furthermore, once you graduate, you could get a decent job even in the Caribbean.
Your family must be filled with anxiety and are in grief over you. I expect they are praying that you will come to no harm.
Do not fight the police or being caught. Turn yourself in and pay the price of imprisonment. One day you may be released and make something better of your life.
I know some Nicholas’ in Dominica. I expect you are one of the family members, down the line. A few older ones have since passed on. These people were/are model Dominicans. What happened to you to cause you to take that path?
Antigua Police, if you catch him, please do not kill him. I hope he does not point his gun at you.
May God help you, Darion and to turn yourself in!

I am afraid of that and fear for his life. It is my feeling since he is considered armed and dangerous, if the Antiguan police catch him, they may shoot him.
Let us still say a prayer and hope he will not be harmed.
We pray also that he may mellow his ways and change.
As Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “For human beings, nothing is possible. With God all things are possible.”
You know the saying, words of the song, “Que, Sera, Sera. Whatever will be, will be.” What is to be will be. I am trying to keep a positive attitude.
        May God help him.

These are weak of spirit. They befriend people who appear to be nice. Later they find out about their lifestyle. These entice them to follow them, telling them they could make big money. Brainwashing them, so-to-speak. What they do not think of is, this is dangerous and their life may be in the balance. They may say they will protect them.
Gullible as they are, some may enter that friendship innocently. In less than no time they are involved in this sort of crime and cannot get away otherwise it will be their demise. Some try to get away, change their life and become model citizens. They are murdered. Much of that occurred in Toronto.
Toronto West Indian parents, other relatives and friends have shed many tears and grieved over these children, teenagers, others in their twenties/thirties or older, who were murdered.
Oh yes! There have been some sorrowful times in Toronto; may still be in the future; a lesson for the youths. Will some ever learn?

Whether we want to accept it or not, it is a FACT that under Skerrit, the soil in Dominica cannot produce a hand of bananas for domestic consumption, let alone for export, while all other neighboring islands continue to export. Those pastors that telling us about how God has blessed Skerrit need to tell us if that is a blessing or a curse.
At one time Dominica use to feed most of the Caribbean with fresh produce. Antigua use to depend on us for fresh . Under Skerrit all we ship to Antigua is drugs, guns and criminals.

Lead Singer. Get a grip of yourself. You all always want to blame someone for the wrong choices yoummake. God gave everyone a free will and you you you have to choose which road you take. Please you stop blaming others when you make the wrong choice, I feel so sorry for the likes of you who are forever blaming someone. I would advise you and all the blames of others to sit up in the night and talk to the Creator and ask for wisdom and cry put to him to show you where you are going wrong. Acknowledge the wrong and repent and do your best which I’m sure you can do. #not too happy about that blame gsme# #Satan is the one who wants us to compete and hate, anger, jealous of others and not look within and see where we falter# awake and retrospect .

@DOC you are so correct. I remember in elementary school in the 60’s we use to read a book about what each Caribbean Island exported for foreign exchage. Dominica was very high on Bananas. Today not only do we not export bananas, but we cannot even get a grain for local consuumtion. They need to re right that book because under Skerrit, we cannot export or grow bananas and all we exporting is coke and weed.

You should know that some of you are contributing factors why the banana crop has failed. You are not exempt. Examine your conscience. This is food for thought.

Facts: In a Dominica where there are thousands and thousands of youth languishing on the corners and feeling hopeless about their futures. In a Dominica where thousands of young men see no hope of ever owning their own cars much less their own homes. A Dominica where these young people see no real benefits in the agricultural sector that sustained their parents and grandparents. A Dominica where these young people see no share of the tourism dollar or the proceeds from the sale of our Nation’s passports. A Dominica where the prospect of gainful employment is quite bleak for even the educated young men and women, we the older generation cry down their involvement in illegal activities and simply call them “lazy”! We close our eyes to the fact that the Dominica we lived in 30-40 years ago as young people is not the Dominica being experienced now by our youth who see more benefit in planting marijuana than in planting bananas. Thumbs down if I’m lying PLEASE!!!!

    • February 24, 2016

NOTE: The comment above should in no way be construed as justification for, or an endorsement of, the illegal trafficking of drugs and weapons. I am absolutely and adamantly opposed to illegal drugs, especially cocaine and heroin! The comment is posted to give a factual account of the contributing factors that is leading our youths to become involved in illegal activities. Suffice it to say that given the statistical data with regards to poverty, unemployment and the relation to crimes and drug trafficking, we can expect things to get much worse unless we begin to make some major changes quickly in terms of economic stability and widespread opportunities for our youth.

Labour of love you must also lament that many of them do not want to work. Don’t forget that. They prefer to walk before the creep. Which baby has ever creeped beforenwalking. they want everything now now. The do not want to work and save…. they want a house today, car today and everything now. This is not possible. I worked before I could have my house and many person who have a house or vehicle are still paying the bank. Let us not be unwise and take everything at face value. To have something, you have to work hard, real hard. The person’s overseas who return to build their homes etc have worked hard even at 2 or more jobs. So stop making excuses for the youths who prefer not to work but plant matijuana, sell crack, indulged in illegal guns etc. Their parents in some instances toiled hard to give the education the did not get and what a blow to the faces, they do not even want to work hard to tell their parents thank you for the sacrifice of mortgaging the land.

Where are the thousands of young men? I live here 36 yrs and I am yet to see thousands of young men languishing on the roadside. I agree that opportunities are limitted here but it is an extreme exaggeration to say “thousands of young men”. Those who are currently unemployed have to accept some responsibility for their own predicament. Back in my parents day, young men went to garden and worked the land. The land is there farrow. And the population is paying tete neg for food on the market. There is work to do but some do not want to get their hands dirty. So they choose drug trafficking instead. Fast money. But please do not drag young men into this who are not. Many are at college and many others work an honest day for honest pay.

You should talk to them and ask them why are they in that situation. You do know some of them are drug addicts. Others love the leisure life.
They need help but will they accept the help. This means to be first rehabilitated to commence effecting a change in them.
Crimes hurt everyone, one way or the other. We must never condone crime for it is not beneficial to the society and the economy.

Now to the issue. “A Dominican, who has been linked to a $9-million drug bust in Antigua, is said to be on the run in that country”

Has drug trafficking replaced our banana industry that skerrit and his boys killed? Is fig we grew up exporting since I knew myself as a child so now we cannot sell fig our young men are left to exporting and trafficking drugs.
