Dominican Earlsfield “Earlfred” James, the third person to have been charged in the alleged murder of Kemmoy Jeffers in Antigua, has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

The upper Fort Road resident made his first appearance in court today (Tuesday, May 8), before a Magistrate and was denied bail.

The committal proceeding is set for June 28.

He was charged with murder in the killing of Jeffers of Fort Road, who was found dead on Friday, April 27 around 11:00 pm.

He was on the run but surrendered himself at the St. John’s Police Station in Antigua around 1:50 am on Thursday, May 3.

He was accompanied by family members.

Two other people have already been arrested and charged with the murder in connection with the matter.

Jeffers was found on the road with his legs bound and a rope tied around his neck.

I have worked as a Police officer from since 1996 and i know the the guy very well. We spoke very often. He is a very kool guy who laughs alot. A good guitarist to. They always put up the worst of pictures of people so it could give a bad impression in times like that. Read the story of what happened the caller who call the Police and what she said and then u will have a clear picture of what took place.

I have known this guy for all my life and is a very humble and quiet human being. From what i read on the incident it was not a willful murder. The neighbors had to take matters in their own hand to restrain a drug addict that was behaving in a violent manner. Know Mr James after he and other subdue the victim and later heard he was dead probably panic and went into hiding. This man has never gotten himself mix up with the law or whatsoever before. I am waiting to see what comes out of that case in Antigua knowing how they behave at times with Dominicans there. I wish him all the best.

‘Jeffers was found on the road with his legs bound and a rope tied around his neck’. So to take matters into their own hands, they restrained/subdued him by tying a rope around his neck? Come on man! Tie his legs, his arms, even around his torso but his neck? It may not be willful but he has to be held accountable.

He has been living here for over 35 years! Stop making unsubstantiated comments without knowing the facts, because he is innocent until proven guilty, you all are always too quick to judge especially with those outlandish statements like the one above. Hoping for a fair trial so that he can be vindicated in a court of law, Earlfred is no saint like many of us aren’t but let the law takes it course. This is not premeditated murder and so on….the facts will come out in this case.
