Francine Sango testifies at manslaughter trial

A friend of deceased Charlesworth Charles Jr gave her version of the events which occurred on 30th August when Jr, as he was known, lost his life.

Francine Sango appeared in court still shaken about the incident, and started crying as she walked state Attorney Athlene Nesty through the details of the morning.

“I passed Khadijah and Kelvin and I heard Jr say “what is that” I had almost reach in front of the house when I heard a noise then Khadijah started screaming”.

“I ran back to the road and I saw Jr lying on the ground and blood coming from his head,” she told the court.

The witness stated that she started screaming and took a shirt from a verandah and placed it on the deceased head in an effort to stop the bleeding.

During cross examination attorney Dawn Yearwood-Stuart questioned the witness about the validity of her story.

She attempted to highlight discrepancies in the witness’ statement to the police and her testimony in court Wednesday morning.

Yearwood-Stuart suggested that the witness was not telling the truth when she told the court that at the time of the incident she was employed at a doctor’s office, since she had previously told police that she was a student.

The case continues on Thursday.

DNO, please, please, please the majority of your news reaches the masses. Please proof read your articles before publishing on the internet. I was also confused by the phrasing of the paragraph. Mr. Editor kindly review these articles, too many grammatical errors (“started crying???”).

I am really sad, here is the young man that was killed by another with an illegal firearm, why did thisyoung man have a firearm, doing what ..protecting who? now he kills, first of all this case should have been called already, but we see he displayed all sorts of diversion but now the case is finally being heard, lawyers are being defensive but the fact remains that Junior was killed with a firearm that was in the hands of this young man. Junior was killed among friends on the doorstep of his home……. we do not know if he was a target, the young man ran…later found by the police, why did he not surrender cause everyone knew who it was…..

so what the lawyer trying the murder charge was reduce to manglaughter simple because some people held back the evidence. One must press the triger of a gun in orderthat it discharge, the accused was careless, reckless what is he doing with an iligal gun and if he so sorry why did he not give the police the gun remember because of his action the guy died.

I was a bit confused there for a minute. I had to reread for it to make sense. I was actually trying to figure where they walked, then I realized what it meant. But I would not have otherwise commented on it. The English language is a funny one.

But the person can be a part-time student and still be employed at a Doctor’s office. Trust those attorneys to try all sorts of tricks.

Come on Miss Lawyer, this young lady is not as intelligent as you, the creditability should be in the story not in whether she was a student or an employee of a doctor’s office. The most important account is what happened on the night, and did she see and is she giving an account of what transpired. do not look for loopholes, we all know junior was killed by a gun short fired by this young man…..

They need to established whether she is a credible witness. not whether the details of her job is relevant to the case.
