Kenneth Rijock fires back; says court case will have casualties

Rijock said the matter will have casualties

US-based blogger Kenneth Rijock has fired back in response to information that he is being sued, saying the matter is going to have casualties and could lead to the fall of the government.

He said is going to defend himself zealously.

“I can tell you that I intend to zealously defend myself,” he said on Q95’s ‘Talk on the Block’ on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday morning, Senior Counsel Tony Astaphan said that Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, Foreign Affairs Minister, Francine Baron, National Security Minister, Rayburn Blackmoore, and Police Inspector Pellam Jno Baptist have filed a lawsuit against Rijock after he failed to retract allegations he made in a blog post that thousands of blank Dominican passports were issued to Moroccan Ambassador to Dominica, Mohamed Benjilay earlier this year.

Rijock’s allegations were rubbished by the Ministry of National Security and he was told to retract the statements or face court action. He didn’t and the lawsuit was filed at the High Court in Roseau on Monday, May 15.

Rijock is not backing down and he made it clear where he stands on the matter.

“I can tell you that in bringing this case, the plaintiffs have themselves been exposed to producing their own truths as difficult as it may be for them and as such I welcome the opportunity to have my day in court, in that case, and let the stones, and let the troubles fall where it may be,” he stated.

Rijock noted that by the time the case is over “everybody in Dominica will have a list of the people, of the criminals, who have diplomatic passports.”

“They will have a list of everybody who is unsuitable, who is running around the world with an economic citizenship, they will know how much money came into the country from the the earning of the diplomatic passport program and why it disappeared,” he stated.

He also said the assets of all government officials involved in the case will be made known “because when a person chooses to access the courts in Dominica, he must make himself and his information available to the defendant.”

“So this is going to be, I guess you might call it a free for all or a slugfest but the truth ultimately will probably cause the regime to fall and frankly considering that Dominica is seeking to become a democracy, which is now looking like a strongman dictatorship, this may be a catalyst for the change that we need,” he stated.

Rijock said once he is served, he will get a spokesperson or counsel to speak on his behalf.

“But I can assure you that this is going to be a fight to the death and there is going to be some casualties here and it is not going and it is not going to be yours truly,” he remarked.

He added, “the defense of defamation, libel, and slander is truth and there are facts that the government does not want the people to know … I can assure you the truth is going to come out here.”

Mista know what he talking about cammem,,,
In its March 2017 International Narcotics Control Strategy Report of the US Department of State omitted only Montserrat in its broad brush across the region that hit every CARICOM member along with other Caribbean states, and Inniss noted that such charges carry severe consequences for financial operations of these countries.

“This is an issue that affects the survival of each economy in the region,” he said recently in a comment on the issue.

“Our health-care systems in the region are at risk of not being adequately financed if we do not get it right in international finance and business. Our agricultural sector would be under immense pressure if we don’t get it right in these areas,” he told the Barbados Advocate newspaper.

The State Department stated that as of 2016 major money laundering countries included

Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St…

You are so disingenuous man! We all know that is was Dame Eugenia Charles and Freedom of which Roosevelt Skerrit was a very active member. No political party in Dominica that I know is against the programme bother in principle. It is the lack of accountability and use, or misuse of the money most of us are against. It was never intended to make selected individuals rich, provide passports for dubious people. All the money, every single cent is supposed to be for the development of our country, not to buy favours or give bribes to win a next election. That programme was hijacked by Roosevelt Skerrit and his disciples. and you know it too. Perhaps you are a beneficiary?

The Court will ask Rijock many questions. He will have much to answer to.
The plaintiffs’ attorneys only have to ask Rijock questions. The plaintiffs do not have to say a word nor be asked and answer to any questions because they are not on trial. Rijock will be the one on trial. Therefore I do not see why he states there will be casualties as if they will be on trial.
Rijock’s words may not be of interest at Court.
Rijock has to stick to the questions he will be asked. The Court may even tell him to shut up – keep quiet and enough said that they do not want to hear anymore.
Therefore, you Rijock, make sure you stick to the reason you were sued and why you made all those comments; why you felt it your duty to post those slanderous blogs.
Rijock, I think the casualty will be you and whoever fed you with information. Those that expend their time and exert their energy to defame the good character of the PM, will fall by the wayside. Rijock, you are one of them.

Get the party started. You know, a forienger is standing up for Dominica and he is not backing down no matter what. He is not afraid unlike those coward Domincans who sit day in and day seeing Dominica sinking but not a word. You know what’s the saddest part of all these allegations? Dominicans who are educated and know Better will remain silent. The silence is so loud that the place is at a stand still. The whole country should be sued for remaining silent whilst the country goin down down down. Another sad thing with Dominicans, they alllllllll profess to be Christians yet they have no problem with evil actions and allegations of wrong doing in public office. Perhaps they think God is a sleep….
Finally, they should name the bridge “Sue Bridge” no pun intended..

Yes, thank God, I have Carib blood in me. The Caribs never gave in to slavery when the imported others did. Dominican’s are lazy, stupid and cowardly. They know that PM Skerrit could NEVER have the money to buy a $7M apartment in New York from his salary as a public servant. They know that. But no one will ask him where he got the money from? No one will ask him what happened to GON’s money which in the millions went missing courtesy of the PM’s lawyer at the time.

Dominicans deserve Skerritt. He deserves them. An satanic banana republic with no bananas that anyone wants to buy.

  10. May 17, 2017

Do not be worried Skerrit is building a new hospital with sufficient beds to welcome them for whatever the type of injuries. It is about time we Dominica know the truth in order to liberate Dominica and its poor people.

Tell Rijock do not mess with Dominicans. He made that comment to try to show him as macho and that Dominicans should fear him but I do think he is a chicken.
Rijock thinks the good Dominicans who stand by and with the PM are joking. You know, if I wrote Rijock or even spoke to him on the telephone I could make him hop and cower in a corner as a chicken or a frightened cat.
The man knows he is wallowing in hot water which he found himself in. This libel suit will cost him some thousands of dollars.

so I wonder why the jubilation among supporters of the opposition? what it is they have a cause to celebrate. Matt said yesterday that there are big moves by some to close the “big radio station” and that he is calling on the fans to make tangible their support of the radio station. I suppose he is referring to a planned radio-thon to raise money for the legal defense funds. Matt should not fear for the following reasons. 1. According to him his name is not “Matt Peltier” and so the court case documents which bears his names as “Matt” Peltier will be rejected by the court. Case closed! Bravo Matt. 2. He accommodated Rijok because he believed Rijok had the evidence to back up the charges of 10,000 blank passports that were made. he did not care to review whatever evidence Rijok had before accommodating him on the radio. Or perhaps he reviewed the evidence. So why should he worry about losing the case? Just compile your evidence Matt and stop playing on people’s emotions.

  14. Hmmm
    May 17, 2017

Well, knowing Tony, he would not go court if he didn’t think he was covered. That 10, 000 blank passports sounds too far-fetched to be true so I guess Tony knows it is erroneous so he will pursue the case.

In terms of Rijock, I find it hard to believe that he has other evidence hidden. Any evidence he had, he would have brought forward in the last couple of months and what he has brought forth so far was not hard evidence so I doubt there’s more.

Plus, who says everything has to be revealed about the defendents in court – it’s only things relevant to the case. You can’t just say what you want in a court..there are judges and lawyers to keep things on track. So if Rijock is thinking that all bank accounts will be declared, then he is really not right in his head.

Plus, these people declare their assets all the time and the amounts are accepted so I don’t know where he’s coming with that defense.

However, I await the case. Dominica is a democracy by the way..don’t…

    • Johnnie Boy
      May 18, 2017

Perhaps it is 5000 blank passports not 10,000 the point is this passport sale business is not transparent , when the leader of the opposition ask Francine Baron to tell the honorable house who our diplomats are she refused and spoke some crap . Since when Diplomats of a country is a secret and people still supporting that non-sense . Come on people let’s be real in this country .

%! we have work to do for a change. You have to visit 10,000 prisons to get criminals’ names and if you should mention criminals on the loose your guess is as good as mines. A mother has to do what she to do to ensure the children are fed. A government has to take risks to protect his country. The lawsuit was brought on by individuals therefore, no casualties there. Just Pay up. So easy even the shoal can get a result.

Neo-Colonialism in action again. Some people on here happy that an expatriate foreigner is working to destroy their own national government on their behalf: “Mash them up Massa, Mash them up Massa!”

And if he is successful in destroying the government (which he will not be) what will the UWP operatives pay Massa in return for his help? A diplomatic passport? An international agent position? A piece of national island real estate? These international Massas demand payback time for their services. Back to the days of PJ and Don Pierson and Sydney Burnett Alleyen, for those old enough to remember.

Rijock, who are you? You are a fake! Get lost!
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Rijock will have some proving to do. Furthermore, this evil man is not a D/can. Why the H…. is he interfering in D/ca’s affairs? You are not a D/can. Who gave you authority? Mind your business. There is a lot of business in the US to mind.
The PM, Dominica and nationals have done you nothing. Why did you take it upon yourself to interfere in our business?
The judge should ask him or will:
Are you a D/can? When did you hear of D/ca? Have you ever been to D/ca? What right do you have to interfere in D/ca’s business? What is it to do with you? As an American, how did you happen to know all this? Where did you get your information from which caused you to make it your business to publish this about Dominica, etc.?
Based on his response, which we could deduce, the judge will dismiss Rijock’s words and charge him for court, attorney and plaintiff expenses.

If thatwere to happen he runs the risk of being stopped in Dominica until he can pay. Rijok do not want that. • Kid On Block, you are an idiot, Rijock does not have to go to court in Dominica, when he perhaps already know what the outcome will be.

The deck of cards are already stacked against him; we have a crocked judicial system, every Dominican alive knows that anyone going to court in Dominica against the government ministers who are corrupted, will prevail. Law is not practiced in Dominica; on any legal basis, or based on any law, or precedence set for a previous case.

Our Justices system is worst than a kangaroo court system!

Judges and magistrates inverts the judgement to suit the person they favor. You and many of you who are piping hot air on this matter; I ask you all: How come Skerrit’s Lawyers did not file a case against Rijock in Miami, where Rijock is a residence!

Tony would have to move back to Dominica because Rijcok will drag him to court in the USA and it’s not going to be Dominica, now do you believe he would give up and come home, I need Yony and PM to face the heat.

      • Even if Tony was a practicing lawyer in any State in the continental United States, he would not lost his head and file a stupid law suit like that in court. That is a frivolous law suit, something without any merits.

That case would be rejected before it gets on any court docket. The suing of someone you know is not obligated to show up in court is nothing more than a circus performance to excite the people in Dominica who dressed in red.

One cannot serve a summon on someone via computer, to appear in court in Dominica. If you serve the person by mail they are not compelled to get the summon in the mail. In America, you have to deliver the summons in person, in their hands, and say “you are served.” Then you have to show proof of service on what day, and time of day you serve the person.

The whole thing is comical, a bunch of comics in a circus trying to silent Skerrit’s critics.

Kenneth is sure right about one thing ”there will be casualties ”
The major ones being the ”tax payers of Dominica”
I will stick my head on the block saying that all the legal fees are going to come from The Dominica Treasury
If the case is won by The litigants, compensation will go directly into their pockets ,not to the Dominica treasury (back to the tax payer) wait allu will see .
If Mr Kenneth wins and then sues compensation will again come from the Dominica treasury , Dominicans are screwed both ways.
But How Pellam got caught up in that nah ?

Did you consider Lennox could be one of those casualties? These things have a way of backfiring. After all he fed Rijock with information which he, himself is unable to prove – as factual. Also based on when Lennox spoke on CBS 60 Minutes and in Guyana, the latter where he was not invited.
The man probably never knew about Dominica until Lennox befriended him. The man knew nothing about Dominica’s affairs previously. How come all of a sudden he knows so much and about the PM? Someone fed him with their unproven suspicion.

I have said here time and time again you can’t just go public with suspicions. Public pronouncements must be based on irrefutable, factual statements. Vilification is what people who speak my language endure with people who did not go past grade six referring to me as the idiot. My prediction the plaintiffs are going to be successful and the respondents going to pay big. Bring it on. Start the attack. I am proven right all the time.

    • The respondent is not going to pay squat! That is the philosophy of you people. Government so called officials in Dominica, corrupted like sin, commits all sorts of crime, against the people!

From fleecing the governments treasury, and continuing harassment, and victimization of the defenseless. And as soon as anyone try to expose their wicked deceitful corrupted ways, they run into their kangaroo court to sue.

All of you who are happy about that stupid frivolous law suit, are ignorant idiots! The educated knows a verdict which the bias judges will render against Peltire, and Rijoct might only have an effect on Peltire; because he have to live in Dominica with that crap!

No verdict rendered in Dominica can be executed in the United States, so what’s the show is all about!

Rijoct does not even have to defend himself in a situation like this, and there is nothing Skerrit and his lawyer, or lawyers could do about him. I would hope if he has some evidence he bring it…

      • Let The Truth Be Known - Original
        May 17, 2017

Get this straight! Dominica’s affairs is none of Rijock’s business. He is like a nosy neighbor or co-worker. What does Rijock stand to benefit from this slander? If you are a patriotic Dominican you would realize that.

      • Facts, the corrupted system in Dominica is everybody business; because this broad day corruption is affecting not only Dominican born people, but foreigners too.

How do you know that this man, and others has personal interest in the country; but because of the corruption of government officials they will not invest one dime in the country. Rijock must have some personal interest in our country, that cause him to be passionately concern.

You in Canada dipping your hands, foot and mouth in Canadian people business, you believe Canada is yours for keeps!

So, why can’t Rijoct claim Dominica if he wish. Suppose the have ancestry connection to the country, you do not know. I dip my mouth in America politics every day, I despise Trump politics, and his policies, it is my right to feel the way I feel, so I say anybody who has any form of interest in Dominica, have a right to expose Skerrit corruption, and if it brings his government down it will be a good thing!

    • I would hope if he has some evidence he bring it forward. Unfortunately Dominicans will see the evidence, ignore it, and run out and vote for Roosevelt next election. The only way those corrupted people who are suing this man can get a dime from him is if he volunteers to give his money to them.

A judge in Dominica will stupidly render a verdict against him that is already an established known fact; however, he is under no obligation to accept any verdict rendered against him in a Dominica court. As a matter of fact there is no reason for him to even respond to that nonsense, never mind travel to Dominica to sit and listen to some stupid Dominica so, called lawyer president a no case in a kangaroo court!

In war there is always causalities, and collateral damage, I hope who want free money will fall victim to their own corruption! Skerrit, Blackmoore, Francine, and the little tadpole Jon who: might, live to regret this!

Dodds I am not happy about this lawsuit. What I am doing is being realistic. I am out here in the U.S concerned just as you do. However, I know that the necesaary evidence will have to some how come from the Immigration depart. Notice the minister and police inspector responsible for this department are complainants. I see them doing all in their power to protect themselves. The have the handle; Rijock has the blade.

      • If you know our country very well, you might consider all things unequal at home, and Rijoct might well be holding the handle, while Skerrit and his circus clown are holding the blade.

All they are trying to do is make it appear as if the story is not true. But even when politicians are caught in situations, where private citizens in the Diaspora gives them money for victims in this Erika, they utilize the money assumable to their own purpose, and when they are exposed, they sue.

When I was growing up in Wesley we term that sort of altitude “wrong and strong.” The thief calls the watchman (security guard) the thief; ignoring the fact they the culprit is the real thief!
