A man, who was taken into police custody on Wednesday afternoon on alleged connection with a fatal accident in Bioche which left one woman dead, has been released.

Dominica News Online has been reliably informed that the man was released on Thursday night.

Sources told DNO that the police are still actively investigating the incident but at this point, it is unclear whether the man is a subject of the investigation.

The man was arrested at the Douglas Charles Airport and was taken to Police Headquarters in Roseau.

He was previously taken into custody but was released, however, he was arrested again based on new information.

The body of Misley Rolle, 28, was found protruding from the windshield of a wrecked vehicle on the seashore in the Bioche area on Monday, September 12.

DNO will continue to follow this story and publish information when it becomes available.

I cannot believe that you could be so nasty to a fellow D/can who has done you nothing. I am simply commenting. You have a severe problem; are insane. You lack peace. How sad for you.

The suspect is innocent, until proven guilty. Can we at least wait for an autopsy, before we criminalize someone and assail their character? If there was foul play involved, this case like so many others will not be solved, because we do not have a history of solving these types of cases and brining closure to families who suffer such tragic loses. The Glenworth Emmanuel Fire Bombing has not been solved to date, and neither has the murder of Omari Smalls.

Leaving so soon denotes something is amiss.
Someone commented, “This is not Dominica.” I responded to the person.
It also crossed my mind, “Where there is a will, there is a way. Nothing is impossible to a willing heart.”
If he cared and was interested in remaining in D/ca for a while to attend her funeral, he would not try to get a flight out so soon. She was supposed to meet him and this occurred. Would he not be concerned and saddened? His actions made others suspicious.
If only the Investigating Unit were equipped to take finger/foot/shoe prints of both of them and also use an equipment “to brush” where he stayed and also the vehicle, to determine whether he was in the vehicle and if she visited where he stayed, including DNA, he could be nailed.
Police, if you do not have these means, are not trained to use this equipment you missed a few essential clues to arrest and hold him in Dominica. Hope your government and superiors will decide on one.

When she was found did he project that he was shocked of what supposedly occurred to her? Was he passive about this sad news? Did he telephone the family to offer his condolence? Did his voice also project genuine sadness?
When he was questioned about her, he said he did not talk to her. This is fishy. Was she not going to meet him that day/night?
People are arrested based on circumstantial evidence. They are also charged, convicted and sentenced.
When the police interrogate them, their demeanor and facial expression must be closely observed. From the commencement of the interrogation their picture must be taken.
Police through your investigation and what you are told, you know more than the public. So perform your work, your investigation appropriately. I hope you did not allow that man to leave Dominica. In a case as this, your investigation must be completed prior to allowing him to leave Dominica.

You do not realize the good the comments could do. This is how in some cases the police get information.
People do not think alike. They have different opinion and obviously comment differently.
Let me inform you, the police need this information. Some put on their thinking cap, not based on TV and movies. Do you know I no longer view these programs? Why? There are too much violence, swearing and shooting. My household have no interest in them. There is nothing we can learn from them; nothing educating. Furthermore, we hear these occurrences daily in Toronto, in Canada and elsewhere in the world, relayed through the local and international Media.
I cannot remember the last time I viewed those programs. It is some years ago. While I write, the US Catholic TV and Radio – Eternal Word Television Network are one. I could attribute my writing to my thoughts and inspiration. There are times I ask the Lord to help me write this properly. Do I get inspiration!

Our comments are encouraging the Police and are their Eyes. They are not in the same place, at the same time and do not know the suspect. Others know him and the deceased. They also know they had a relationship and a child (?) as stated.
Let me further inform you, those on the outside looking in may know more than the Police.
I have observed, the Police is always conducting investigation and then a lull. This is not to say I do not have respect for them and their position. I find they are slow, based on what we read. If he were in Toronto/Canada, he would be arrested.
Look how quickly the Guadeloupe police caught the D/ca teenager. He is now incarcerated.
Look how quickly the US Police caught the man who placed bombs over the weekend.
Do not tell me with that evidence, what could the suspect have told the police which has not yet convinced them of his guilt.
Common!!! We must shame the police for probably shoddy and slow work.
        Misley wants justice! RIP!

It in no way prevents the police from doing their work. If they are experts, they know what to do and how to do it, promptly. It will not hinder them.
He was interrogated the first time. He tried to leave the country and was arrested again, at the airport; now released, a second time.
Is this not a strong clue what is it? Why was he leaving so soon? Obviously he has something to hide.
A gentleman, one who genuinely loves and is concerned at what happened to her would not try to leave. Once he left, he would never return. The D/ca police probably would never know where he is. If he left for one country, he could find himself elsewhere. Who knows where? The saying, catch me if you can.

Whatever the circumstances of this case, a person has to be assumed innocent until proven guilty. I dont mean this with any insensitivity to the family of the deceased – indeed they have my deepest sympathies – but wild accusations based on rumour and suspicion do not hold in a court of law, can compromise an investigation and lead to criminals walking free.

This case will also unfortunately highlight the lack of resources and preparedness of the Dominica Police Force to investigate crimes of this nature.

Emmmh I take it that’s emergency personnel on the scene! First observation no personal protective clothing , example no helmets or head gear especially given the location where the victim and vehicle was found. Fire Chief you need to do better than that. Equip your responders with the required safety gear else they will be exposing themselves to much danger. We do not want t secondary events happening especially if they can be avoided. How do you know what is being done or not done? The police cannot and should not release all information to the public that could jeopardize the case.

We have to allow the authorizes to do their job. We wouldn’t want the wrong person to be arrested and found guilty to satisfied our need to know and to solve the crime if it is a crime and the wrong person be found guilty and the real murderer if this is a murder is roaming around the streets looking for a next victim.

My Sympathies to the family of the deceased. May her soul rest in peace and if this is anything other than an unfortunate accident; May the murderer be brought to justice and the full force of the law be handed down to whomever it is.

In the meantime, I will allow the family to grieve, I cannot imagine what they must be going through and allow law enforcement to continue with their investigation into the unfortunate death of this young mother. R.I.P.

You cannot charge a man on say say no. But Dominicans were saying oh they see they see why didn’t they go to the police station and told the police they actually saw him. Typical Dominicans running their mouth when come for the heat they first to run.

I could write a book without mentioning his name. Books could be written on this story. If books are written, some of the funds should go to at least her children for their livelihood.

He has no need to escape , he is not a refugee . He is a Dominican. You donkey with all the evidence , hold his passport . Do you want the passport to sell it to take you out of your misery? Then you will be the one going to jail for your corruption and laziness . Dam fool

The sad truth and reality is not what you know in the court of law, but is what can be proven. Do it have any eye witness..no!..was a murder weapon found..no!….was the fingerprint of the suspected guy found on the victim clothing or in the ride …no.. ‘dominica don’t have that technology ‘……….. and the list of key elements goes on, which can’t be found and proven linking the man to the death of misley… i personally believe is he that kill the woman, but we need to prove it…without a confession, the guy is free to go….

Fingerprints would nail the suspect even in the vehicle and on the outside. If they do not have this technology, they should be trained and get one. Just as DNA the suspect could be arrested and charged.
Fingerprints and DNA would be useful in solving cases.

Tell the facts , whom shall they train . Don’t you know it is an honor to serve your country so why didn’t you finish your schooling and pride yourself and your country to studying forensic science . If you and the fools who have been talking like they know so much about investigation , had any pride and dignity , a little bit of ambition , Dominica would have a proper Lab and you heading it . But you are wasting your life away depending on Government to throw a job in your lap. Get up , shake up . Why is it other countries have forensic officers attached to their forces . Dominica and its people are too back ward . All you all good at is gossip and obeah.

I hate to inform you to, “SHUT UP” and cease insulting people.   There are some wicked people and you are one of them.
Respond amicably. Obviously you do not have this trait.
You dictator, allow others to comment. Is anyone hindering you from doing that?
To further inform you, if I knew D/ca would be like that with all these criminals and heinous crimes committed, as this last one of Misley’s death, I would have studied forensic science. It is quite obvious D/ca needs a few.
Anyway, I have other interests and I am quite happy about them. Thanks be to God!
Learn to communicate with godliness and respect. You have not acquired that skill yet; far from it    While you are at it, you could mind your own business.
Keep in mind tomorrow is not yours. You should know what I mean and read between the lines.

Some concern citizen who want to muzzle people who are doing their utmost to do good. Then you complain that nothing is done in Dominica. So much for you. What are you doing to help any situation?

And the funny thing is, you don’t even NEED tech to find the fingerprint! (the hardy boys did it!!)

SMH ~ dominica can try harder!

But she’s done well so far!! ;)

When they assume certain people are in their way and are hindering them, there are times they get another or others to do their dirty work so that they will never be suspected or charged.
God knows what happened to her. If someone or some people are responsible, He will deal with them in time. God is patient. This is our consolation.
There are also times situations change and quickly, causing their evil works to surface, exposing them and eventually convicting them.
In all circumstances of life, we must pray. Now that he is released, let us pray that the truth comes to light.
The thought crossed my mind. I will send a prayer petition to EWTN – Eternal Word Television Network, Global Catholic TV, for her and on her behalf. Also for her grieving family.
May God force, whoever is holding evidence of the truth to admit it. Prayers are not always answered right away and in the manner we expect. God will do with them as He wills. Praise be to God!

Another thought. I have many. :) Such is my eagerness that this situation be solved.
In her spiritual world, we want Misley Rolle to know that we care. As if she doesn’t know. :)
We picture ourselves in her position when this supposedly accident occurred to her and caused her death. We are trying our utmost that the truth will be revealed, also with prayers. May God help!

This should teach everyone to stop casting judgement before they know the facts of the matter. Now lets see those who were bold enough to run their mouth with gossip and chatter be bold enough to admit that they rushed to judgement.

I hear you, people are hanging folks b4 they are proven guilty. They cannot in anyway prove the guy was the one who did this to the young lady. Sounds like a personal vendetta to me, same old ish, never-change-mentality. SMDH :-?

But this does not say that he was innocent of all they are accusing him of. It’s just saying that basically the Police didn’t have any solid evidence to hold him and were therefore forced to let him go. But common sense really. The man swore he never saw her. And going looking for her like he so concerned but a day after finding her body he set to leave the country? He had JUST ARRIVED in the country that same weekend. What hurry was he in to leave so soon after being so ‘concerned’ about his girlfriend’s whereabouts?

Every night they should light a candle and pray in remembrance of her and of what occurred to her for at least one year. They help to light the way and release the truth..

Not yet and not so quickly! They may be correct. How often even the police could botch the case? I hope there was no bribery in this. Just speculating. Twice he was questioned and now released? At this point, I do not think he is innocent.
I would ask so many questions relevant to this case and be diplomatic about it, he would be forced to admit it.
Let us pray that the real truth will be revealed. We want this case solved and quickly. :)
This would satisfy her family. May it be so and soon enough.

We do not know anyone who would do this cold-blooded act, leaving the country when she is not yet buried. Some love, eh.
This is what is suspicious and the police appear not to have got it into their heads. I do not know what they are waiting for to arrest and charge him. His action was downright suspicious.
I feel if he were in Canada he would already be arrested. Trying to leave under this circumstance, would give them a clue.
While this country has some unsolved cases (not many), they do not waste time to arrest suspects. It amazes me how quickly they arrest criminals. Technology today greatly assists them. People also come forward and give them information.

Those who know should inform the police. If they do not, they are withholding evidence. It is a crime, a sin to do so.
The police must keep their names confidential.
        What about informing Crime Stoppers?
