Thirty-year-old Mandella Gordon of Goodwill has been charged for the attempted murder of another man.
The incident took place in the vicinity of the Newtown Savannah on Saturday 31st October 2015 at about 6:00 am, according to the police.
According to Sergeant Pelham Jno Baptiste, of the Police Public Relations Committee, the police responded to a report of disorderly conduct at Newtown and upon arrival Dean Mitchel of Newtown was found with many serious wounds to his head and hands.
Mitchel was taken to the Princes Margaret Hospital (PMH) where he was examined by a medical doctor and admitted.
On Monday 2nd November 2015, Gordon was arrested and charged with the attempted murder of Mitchel.
A video of the incident, which is circulating on social media, shows Gordon viciously attacking Mitchel with a cutlass.

My remarks involved a scathing critique of the Uneducated Wicked People in opposition and their introduction of violence in our society. Yet, to all the peace-loving and God-fearing Dominicans who recall the failed attempt to overthrow our precious Labour Government that occured in Salisbury, you know well what I am speaking about. There obviously was a reason. After reading this shocking news, the following day I spoke to someone in D/ca about those two shocking incidents, the one where the woman died and this one. I was informed what occurred to cause them.
Whatever the reason, consider, did he have the right to bludgeon the man? What if the man dies? He will be charged for manslaughter/murder.
Will the man recover fully from this vicious attack? The attacker could also be sued.
Some people cannot discuss or argue without pulling out a weapon. No one should condone this man.
Know that words could also lead to attacks, injuries and deaths. Therefore, caution, watch what you state. It is better to walk away from a heated argument if it is felt it may lead to that. In this case, it appeared the victim did not stand a chance to run away. The poor man.

Telephone the police and report the incident. Lodge a complaint, a case against the perpetrator.
Some people need to learn a good lesson. This may be the only lesson troublemakers could learn and by spending some time in prison where hopefully they will be rehabilitated.
