Sherman Webb, who in 2012 was found guilty of the murder of Barbadian, Corey Poleon, during an alleged satanic ritual has lodged an appeal against his conviction.
On July 20, 2012 he was sentenced to life in prison and his matter will be heard on Monday when the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court sits at the Parliament building in Roseau.
Webb was represented by attorney at Law Peter Alleyne, who maintained his client’s innocence throughout the week-long trial at the country’s High Court back in 2012.
During the trial Webb had told the court that Poleon came to visit him in August of 2009 to conduct “an occult ceremony which involved the summoning of a demon.”
He testified that during the ceremony, Poleon became frightened and the demon possessed his body. He said he chopped Poleon on the neck with a cutlass to force the demon to leave his body.
He said he later buried Poleon’s body under the wooden house in Elmshall where they had conducted the ritual after “banishing the spirits.”
In his final statement during the trial the 31-year-old Kingshill resident told the court, “I do not agree that I killed Corey. He was a friend of mine.”
Justice Bernie Stephenson, who heard the case, described it as “unusual and unfortunate and bizarre.”
All who deal with satan have to deal with the consequence. It is the truth , people turn to the devil for help instead of god, and that is what they get. Jesus help us.

I would accept appealing his case and at the end increase on his sentence,this low life scum killed someones son.brother,cousin,uncle and friend and he had the strength to tell the world that he did not kill him,if you chop a man with a cutlas on his neck ,it is certain that you will kill him,or injure him seriously,he was your friend?why hurt your friend .kill him and bury him?this was no accident but pure and simple murder or an assassination because he might have planned it before this young man came to meet him…if this scumbag was not caught it was certain that he could have become a serial killer,,,keep him locked till death but make sure he work for his food in the jail…
Not only that but the audacity of Mr. Peter Alleyne to stand in court and maintain this man’s innocence. Something is seriously wrong with both Mr. Webb and Mr. Alleyne.
Being a good lawyer is fighting for justice and letting justice prevail. The man is guilty seek a lesser charge, not defend him when you know he’s guilty.
“Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.”—- And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Then the man, in whom the evil spirit was, leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. Sherman Webb may have thought that he was protecting his friend, by using a cutlass against the demon who had possessed him; that is one of the ways too many of us do not understand the ways of neither God nor the devil, but we continue with selfish pride of whatever is in their mind–believing that we know it all.
Sherman did speak about the “spirit”–the demon who possessed his friend–but he did not understand that a spirit does not have a physical body– he could not attack that demon with a cutlass.
Sherman himself was demon possessed, that was the reason he used the cutlass against his friend–that demon did that work through him–just like the attack on those people in the scripture above, by the demon possessed man; it wasn’t the man himself who did the attack, but the demon who was in him.
Nevertheless demonic activities are against God’s Ways in Life and those who practice those activities must suffer the consequences. Hence, Sherman Webb must remain incarcerated for doing the devils work, for as long as he is able to acknowledge his flaws–there is no saying:
“I do not agree that I killed Corey”; you were the only physical person in the room with him; you obeyed the command of your mind in its evil condition; you used a cutlass against the man’s neck, which killed him. Individuals with a mind condition like yours, do not belong in society–God forbid that you should be released.
This is the practice in Haitian Voodoo, these people have been coming to Dominica practicing
and teaching Dominicans their their art.
The Government should Ban the Haitians from entering Dominica because they will lead the

Voodoo is a form of witchcraft. It came from Africa to Haiti and from there to various islands of the Caribbean. From Haiti is also spread into the States through the American city of New Orleans.
In Voodoo people who do not know God attempt to curse somebody or remove a curse by the power of “spirits”. What “spirits” these are depends on the local Voodoo they follow. It may be a “god” or “goddess”, or the spirits of their ancestors. But in reality if they actually utilize any power at all it is the power of Satan
working through demons. There is much fraud. People who practice voodoo for a living depend on the fear and superstition of their clients.
God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and rise again for us so our sins can be forgiven if we will believe on Him and receive Him as our personal Savior. He is able to deliver, and set people free from any curse, and the oppression of the devil.

Those who involve themselves in any form of witchcraft, voodoo, or obeah are opening themselves up to the devil. There is always a risk of becoming demon possessed. The symptoms of possession are mental oppression, insanity, physical illness, loss of emotional control, vile and wicked behavior, and other things.
Christ died on the cross to pay the price for our salvation so we can be forgiven and receive the gift of eternal life. Please read Romans 5:6-8, 1 John 5:11,12. Those who put their faith in Christ and are filled with the Holy Spirit have no need to fear the enemy. All witchcraft is under our feet, and no worker of darkness can touch us.
Jesus said “And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out demons; …” (Mark 16:17)

Sherman Webb, you may have made your family ashamed that you dabbled in the occult and murdered Poleon. His blood is on you for the rest of your life. You cannot escape from that.
This was no exorcism. The man, foolish as he is, has no experience to caste out demons.
Demons are caste out by praying, quoting from Holy Scriptures, blessing the person with Holy Water and commanding them to leave the person. This is not done by a mere person with no experience in this. You are guilty as Hell. You should take life imprisonment without any appeal. How can you be let out on the streets? I hope not!
You, Sherman, stop your foolishness. Submit and repent to Our Almighty Father through the Most Precious Blood of His Blessed Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
If you did not dabble in this foolishness which cannot make you happy and peaceful, cannot save you and will get you nowhere but to Hell, you would not have found yourself in this situation and imprisoned for murder.
You and your attorney, do not try to deceive the magistrate/judge. I hope the Judge asks you questions about exorcism and how experienced are you in it.

According to a song, “Satan has no authority here. This dwelling place is made for the Lord.” This is what you should have known.
The only one that cannot kneel is Satan. God ensured that He has no knee cap for obvious reasons. He said to God: “I will not serve.”
St. Michael the Archangel, the Defender of the Faith/Church who threw him out of Heaven said to him: “Who is like unto God?”
I hope someone informs you and shows this to you. You are in dire need of deliverance. May God send someone proficient to assist you that you may not perish on the inevitable day when He calls you for your judgment.

There is a Biblical exercise some Christian churches call “exorcism”. When conducted according to the Holy Scriptures in its simplest form it involves commanding a demon to “come out” and leave an individual in the name of Jesus Christ because of the merits of His shed blood.
However what Sherman Webb was attempting was not exorcism or deliverance ministry as it is referred to in my evangelical denomination. It bore no resemblance to “spiritual warfare”. In fact it was just the opposite. Mr. Webb was involved in the occult. He met Corey Poleon on an occult chat line. His purpose for being with him in the in the house was to summons a demon (something forbidden in the Holy Scriptures) not to cast out a demon.
The use of a cutlass is not part of any Christian exercise! Obviously it was an act of violence. Who did the cutlass belong to? Why was it even there?

According to Mr. Webb’s sworn testimony something other worldly or supernatural took place in the house. I refer to how the smoke swirled around them when the demon made its entry. The force of the presence coming into the room created such fear that Sherman Webb felt compelled to defend himself with the cutlass.
All this shows it is dangerous to involve one’s self with the occult. We are not meant to summons demons or ask for help from the dark side. God want us to pray for His help. We are to let Him speak to us and guide us a we pray and read the Bible which is the Word of God.
I pray that Mr. Webb will come to know Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior according to Romans 5:6-8, John 3:16.17, Ephesians 2:8,9, and 1 John 5:11-13. He should be sitting in a Bible believing church where the gospel is clearly preached and the Word of God is faithfully taught in a balanced way conductive to true spiritual growth.

What Bible-believing church are you referring to? I am a Christian Catholic. I know what is contained in the Holy Bible by also reading and studying it. This Church is a Bible-believing and teaching one. If others make it their godly spiritual business they will know the Bible. The Holy Spirit inspires.
Furthermore, those who attend Holy Mass on a daily basis and also those who attend Holy Mass be it only on Sundays, a day of obligation, they hear the Scripture read which is part of the Holy Mass. Then the Priest preaches on the daily Word of Scripture.
When I am in Church, I certainly do not fall asleep in Church or my mind is not on outside of the Church thinking what I will be doing after I leave the Church. I also never leave the Church right after the Celebration of the Holy Mass and the Priest’s recession. I stay to pray especially the Prayer After Holy Mass.
The Church also offers Bible Studies. I have taken same. This has immensely helped me.
There are relevant books as “Reading/How to read the Holy Bible”. People must make it their business to search for them. It all depends on one’s interest and spirituality. What we put into it, it is exactly what we will receive. We put nothing, we receive nothing.
It depends on the demeanor of those who go to Church. Members must show an interest and also do their utmost to live a relatively godly life. It is for this reason, thanks be to God as I mature in age, I have become more knowledgeable in the faith. It also pays to have religious hymns/songs, listen to TV and Radio programs. These immensely help to build one’s faith and grow in spirituality.
These days there are more Catholic information than ever. There is also Catholic TV and Radio as also EWTN, to help build the faith and to grow in it. No exception on the Internet. We have everything that Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us, wants us to have and to know which He approved for His Church.

I recall a few words of a poem I learned since in elementary school: “Satan finds some mischief for idle hands to do.” I have added to it, idle minds and also hands and feet.
Another saying: “Idleness is the devil’s playground.”
It is always sad to hear of these things that people prefer messing around with the enemy of God and of our souls. They ignore God who created us and who can give us all things, if we turn to him.
One of the first lessons I learned as a child when taking Catechism as a preparation for making First Holy Communion at the age of seven:
Question: Why did God create us?
Answer: God created us to know and love him in this world and to be happy with him forever in Heaven.
Some appear to have forgotten it or to ignore it. This is when they get involved with such things. Their life will never be the same if they continue in it.
I heard a story of what occurred to a D/can woman a few years ago. Her partner was involved in it.
God created us to know him. love him and “serve” him in this world . . .”
There is no way to justify this inordinate interest in demons.
Mr. Webb and all others like him need receive Christ as their Savior (John 1:11,12) (Revelation 3:20), be baptized by immersion (Acts 8:35-38) (Colossians 2:12), and become part of a New Testament church (Acts 2:41,42) (Ephesians 2:19-22).
Christians should be attending a church where the Word of God is taught by God called duly ordained pastors and submit to them. (Hebrews 13:7,17) They are not suppose to be running up and down the country trying to learn about demons, and how to do things with them. This is not what the Christian life is about.
Jesus said ”Take MY yoke upon you, and learn of ME: for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29,30)
