  1. Live by the Sword
    May 20, 2016

And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.” (Matthew 26:51-52). When Jesus tells us that all who take the sword will also perish by the sword, you can immediately tell that Jesus is trying to give all of us a major piece of revelation. Some people have used another phrase to try and capture this revelation, and this other phrase is – live by the sword, die by the sword.

why all this negativity about. Grandbay is a violent place we all know that.
if you want to fete isidore with civilized people in a civilized village.

SAN SAUVEUR has the same fete. it is always peaceful with the same bands only difference is the people are civilized and friendly another taste of dominica.

You have options go grandbay and die or come to another village and enjoy yourself. next year I san sauveur.

    • May 20, 2017

NOSTRESS you ARE stressed. I was born and raised in MONTIN, GRANDBAY and never saw the violence of which you speak. Granted, We had some cantankerous neighbors, but all in all, every man/woman was able to defend him/herself. My grandparents survived, my parents and other relatives did. To this day, I have a LOT of small army of relatives in Montin and none of them has ever been in any kind of trouble. We have thugs everywhere and Grandbay has its share: does that makes it a violent place? no.

There’s an old song which goes like this; What’s the matter with the world….it’s not the world, it’s the PEOPLE who are in it. GRANDBAY itself is a peaceful place to live in. Some of the PEOPLE in Grandbay have their issues. Go to San Saveur and have fun. Did they not kill an old man there a couple of weeks ago?

And I’m guessing through your statement with your grammatical and spelling errors that you are smart? One person doesn’t define a village, a town, a country or society. I urge you to go back to school and take a few English classes before you speak or write about Grand Bay people. Grand Bay has produced a prime minister, a president, doctors, teachers, lawyers, nurses, individuals with degrees, bachelors, doctorates, many of these careers you have no desire or educational capacity to fulfill. Stop being a nuisance and find something constructive to get involved in.
Sincerely yours; a proud Jean Gwan Bai

As a law student I saw an 18 seconds clipping of the video when they lifted him. He was still alive. This is very crucial in any court case when determining the actual cause of death.

Sadly Mr. Peters lost a lot of blood, no one in the crowd had any basic knowledge of first aid.

Hence in a court of law the perpetrator will not be charged with homicide, not even second degree murder/manslaughter. The most they will charge the perpetrator with is GBH (Grievous bodily harm). If the prosecutor is witty and this person has an unlicensed firearm. Or on some technicality of the case or the details they will give this person a slap on the wrist. Very sad in Dominica.

We empathize with the family of the bereaved, it is never an easy thing to lose a loved one.

    • Pebbles
      May 19, 2016

This statement is incorrect. the death occur because of the shooting. The law may differ depending where you are but murder, is murder the charges may reduce to manslaughter but the suspect is never walking he is a murderer.

      • issania
        May 20, 2017

I was just wandering but as u said the law differs everywhere for in antigua if someone dies as a result of an injury they sustained a year prior the perpetrator will be charged for murder.

    • Ddos
      May 20, 2016

Lol..what kinda law school you go..GBH..i can give 5 more charges that will server more time than GBH.

      3. Aggravated Assault

It is sad. He left his home to have some fun and he was shot. Poor guy. Think of how this saddens the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
I hope the Guadeloupe visitor will eventually recover.
To his family, my heartfelt sympathy to you and also his associates. Take heart. You are being comforted by The Blessed Trinity and with our prayers for your beloved one and for yourselves that God will strengthen you in your sorrow.
The Mother of God, The Ever Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Dear Lady who is also called The Mother of Sorrows (consider when Her Blessed Son Our Lord suffered and died), is sorrowful for you, for us to see so much sadness in the world, in Dominica,
caused by some creatures of God.
She is praying for you, comforting you and covering you with her Mantle of Love. Obviously, she loves all of us, God’s children. She knows us by name too! :)

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!
Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord hear us. Christ graciously hear us.

An efficacious prayer composed by St. Bernard:

Remember O Most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins our Mother. To thee we come, before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of The Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions but in thy mercy hear and answer us. Amen!

Pray for the mourners. Pray for us.
God bless you grieving relatives. Your prayers will be answered.

Liver, Kidneys, Pancreas, Stomach. Depending on the damage, it can affect the other vital organs like the heart, lungs, brains because all the organs depend on one another. If the blood not flowing in time to the vital organs, the brain and others become damaged which can cause the person to die.

The criminal justice has not done much to keep up and solve crimes in this ever changing world. In some US states with high crime they have passed legislation that forbids disclosing of witness names so that people will be forthcoming with info, especially in the low income areas, that has helped solved many many murders. the current laws prevents people from coming forward with info. If they do, word gets out like magic as to who informed. It’s not that easy to divulge such info in D’a. This surely needs to be made easier, including witness protection. Take heed.

You’d think they’re going to war with ISIS or BOKO HARAM. They out in jam and they don’t want people to bounce them or push them. A jam is a place where people come to free up and dance not to stand up one place and play tense. Now the minute somebody bounce them is problem… is pull out the gun and shoot, take out the knife and stab. Not even talk you can talk with your own mouth fellas now want to chap you for speaking your mind. Dominica seeing some rough times. Jah alone that know. People think parents these days have it easy…. trust me it hard. Parents have to ensure they talk to their children day in day out and pray for their children… Because if not Dominica will finish… Children behave yourselves and obey your parents… Do what is right.

The proliferation of handguns in the country is unbelievably discomforting. But it is the callousness with which almost everyone – general population and official- involved is what is most frightening with these criminal activities in the country. The number of unsolved murders in Dominica makes one wonder about the capacity and desire to investigate these crimes.

Well if you recall, a white boy shot up a church last year… so yes people get shot in church. So blame not the feasts, because we can have feasts without killing. But we are human and even God was with Jesus they still crucified him, why? Because it was meant to be. You can\’t stop the way a person has to die. It is already planned by God.

Your last sentence. God knew he would die that way. He did not plan it. He plans no evil. One day these things, the truth will be revealed to us.
Your statement is a good one for me to take up with one of the Priests, theologians and well-learned hosts, experts on the US Catholic Radio Call-In Programs. I think I know what their reply will be but it would be worth asking them.
You know what they will say? “It is a good question/query. In responding to callers in many parts of the world (Catholics and non-Catholics), they are ever so cheerful and patient, explaining carefully and graciously, no matter what their questions, pro and con. For many reasons of the Catholic Faith, I love that Radio Station, WLOF 101.7 FM, The Station of The Cross. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima. It is an affiliate of EWTN Global Catholic Radio. You have much to learn. You must be a pagan and cannot think well, spurred on by Satan, the enemy of our souls. Satan is everywhere even when you are sleeping. He and his corteges roam the country, the world. This is where he is prominent (some are not aware of that), in church, among worshipers and those who are having fun and some clean ones.
Some years ago, one Sunday afternoon, at a Church prayerful gathering, a Healing Service in Toronto, the Priest who was the leader said to us, “Let us commence with an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be to the Father . . . for we could have an enemy in our midst.” It surprised me then. Food for thought.
You should read the book, “The lives Of The Saints” and know what they went through with this enemy, the enemy of God and of our souls.
Guard what you say/state. Do not bring Christians down and call them pagans. God knows who you are and what you stated. One day you will pay for it.

You simply state what is on the base of your mind which has no substance and is not fruitful, bears none except hatred. I could share some more stories.

While there are areas within the community which need to be ameliorated, there are many positive attributes of the people. I am from Grandbay! Stop dragging your own people down and for the record,I’m sure you are one of those people decreasing the illiteracy rate since you spelt it as ‘illieteracy’….just my two cents so let me get back to sipping my tea.

They are not just highly ignorant but they believe that you must bow down to their ignorance…Next thing they brag about their ignorance,as if its something that they have bought somewhere, and noone else can buy it.

o my God. R.I.P my dear friend. Hearts out to the family of the dead and get well soon to the Guadeloupe national.
visitors will take a step backward not to enter this country at all. call the pope, priest, pastors and the country on a whole to pray and wash away the evil that is surrounding us. MOST OF ALL CALL ON THE MASTER UP ABOVE.

I endorse what you stated. I love such comments. Yesterday, I had this conversation about praying for Dominica, ourselves, family, friends, Church, Pope, Bishops, Priests; for everyone in the world. I said we are not praying well and enough Does God not know that? He also has a sense of humor when we talk/write/comment if it is positive as this.
A saint said: “Speak more to God and less to people.” We do need this godly advice. It is also said, “God talks to us when we are silent but we do not listen. He talks/inspires us regardless of our status.”
He also talks to us while we are praying. We must pray and listen to God; allow him to talk to us. This is what it means to converse with God and vice versa. All this I heard on the US Catholic Radio and more. . . :)
A prayer for the dying I remember from childhood in D/ca, “Sacred Heart of Jesus once in agony, have pity on the dying.” To be prayed often.
      God bless you!

Deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. May he rest in peace. It is so unfortunate that young men are losing their lives so senselessly through gun violence. Despite vigorous efforts by the Dominica Police Force to locate and remove these illegal firearms from the hands of individuals who find it logical or reasonable to settle their grievances with acts of extreme violence these weapons continue to proliferate our society and claim lives. Yet, it is important to understand that guns by themselves do not kill people, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE! What this means is that if someone has the intention to seriously harm or kill another, he/she will do so whether it’s with a knife, cutlass, any blunt instrument or heavy object. It would be ideal to be able to remove all illegal guns from the Island but it’s simply unrealistic! The true deterrent should be serious and effective punishment by the Courts for these senseless crimes!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, you are very arrogant, the same applies to you, you, some of you Grand Bay residents are very hostile, malicious and coward, this is the reason you guys fast to use weapons, Dominicans should not be restricted from going to others villages on 5he island, there are many Grand Bayrians all over Dominica who left Grand Bay and refuse to step foot to Grand Bay, not even in death, hope when the water in lalay ready for you guys you all will stay and wither the storm, too much killing be civilize to one another, too much blood on the streets of Grand Bay, people should be on their guard, they should be vigilant at all times when going to Grand period
