Measures to be put in place to protect Dominican passport

Additional security measures are being established to avert the illegal acquiring of Dominican passports.

Roy Pascal, Sergeant of police, who made the disclosure on the state owned radio Thursday, said the measures follow concerns by Britain about illegal entry of Dominican passport holders into the territory.

Britain disclosed earlier this year it was considering the introduction of visa requirements for Dominica and St. Lucia because of what it described as a high level of immigration abuses among nationals of the two countries.

Pascal said the measures being set up here, will “among other things mitigate fraud and protect the integrity of our passport”.

“There are many security features already in our passport. It is machine readable and there are many security features, some are visible and others [are] not visible. Even among those that are visible, there are security features that are not visible among them, so it’s a very secure document,” Pascal expounded.

He added that there are methods in place to control how the Dominican passport is obtained.

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha What a silly nation! Roy the cop said: “There are security features that are not visible among them visiblethere are none visible features” Lol! is this a mind twister or what? Give me a break!
Our gov't is selling our passports to crooks obviously they have the authentic stuff Roy! This is the visible invisble part of the equation. We are doomed our 65% dotish, opportunists, infiltares, etc who voted these money hungry/deprived politians( from birth until becoming politicans and obtaining power as they did are responsible. The church goers rasta, etc should be held responsible also as they are interested in the afterlife rather than the earthly. The sad part is even the politicians all sides go to church also even every funeral. we have former carismatics/former DFP big boys & girls in the current administration getting the rest of the pie they did not secure between 80 -95..Eddie et Al remember the way it was.
Roy and the jokers who think naively about the extent of this corrupt practice the horses have long exsitted the barn and to add insult to injury the fence is porous.

i have news for you, fed up, dominica is one of the most difficult countries in the caribbean to obtain a passport. Take for instance in st vincent, you go there tommorow and marry are vincentian, you get a
passport as soon as you are issued a marriage certificate. In domiica nothing at all go so, we are not perfect but we are better than many other countries. I can give you many more instances but am not in the mood. Thank you
