No dead bodies – Police

Flooding in Massacre yesterday

Police PRO Kent Matthew has sought to clear the air concerning reports that three dead bodies had been taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital yesterday.

Matthew said that three asthmatic children were taken to the hospital for medical treatment after the boat they were traveling in landed near the Coast Guard Base in Fond Cole yesterday afternoon.

They were traveling to Fond Cole by boat because the roads further up the west coast of the island were flooded and impassable.

No other persons from the vessel have been hospitalized for any reason, Matthew said.

Roads along the west coast were flooded yesterday after heavy rains associated with Tropical Storm Ophelia lashed the island.

So far there have been no reports of death but as a precautionary measure the government has decided to close all schools today.

Seriously!!! What does government and disaster management plan to do for the people who lost everything? I’m sure there are persons who lost clothing & shelter and needs that immediately. Talk will not clothe or feed them. Time to step up fellow Dominicans. Now is the time for supermarkets to step up and donate. Show the people that they are not there to just collect from the people but show that they are socially responsible also.
    GOD BLESS DOMINICA

How amazing and true, that there are persons who take there time to read these comments and choose to give dislike points to all the positive comments, please lets cast the negative on a side, the evil we speak, comes back to us and when they do we make remark like (some one that do that), lets stay focus and speak good, so good will come to us.

  11. inquiry Needed
    September 29, 2011

The president or OECS/CARICOM needs to conduct an independent commission of enquiry into the causes of these recent massive flash flooding in st lucia and Dominica.
Heads must roll persons must be held accountable.
Tax payers cannot pay hundreds of millions in road contracts, have the largest ratio of ministers/populace of anywhere on earth, have so many highly paid advisors in the PM’s office only to suffer such massive damage from flash flooding with the distant(218 miles away) passage of a tropical depression.

I remember this calypsonian sang a few years ago “I see water, plenty water, covering all of Dominica.”

My people the bible says it very clear……”If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2Chron 7:14

We still have a choice, God is such a loving Father, he always gives us an opportunity to make it right…….

The question is how are we going to choose….

It’s amazing just like time of old.every time something bad happen is God that do it.Stop using the word of God to justify your idea. The same was said when satan took all of Jobs children the messanger said the fire of God.But it was satan doing his do.How comes you did not say that satan is trying to destroy us? man all you dominicans just negative.Evrything is political.Well better you start praying is your contry instead of pointing fingers and bringing scriptures lets all pray for our country and it’s leaders and citizen.we are living in the days when we signs of his coming is happening everywhere.

      • AYE DOMINIQUE
        September 29, 2011

Empress 2, you don’t seem to know the story behind Job too well, Satan did Job, but he could not have done anything to Job if God did not allow him to….

I’m not politicizing anything, it is crystal clear to all that things are not right in our land, and if you want to continue playing politics with these fact go right ahead….

Remember, that God still gives us choices, we choose bad, we suffer the consequences, we choose good, and we reap the benefit, like Job of having God on our side.

Satan tried, but he could not kill Job, GOD DID NOT PERMIT IT….

Think hard and long….do we want God’s protection, or do we not?

        That is the question….

we must be thankfull to god for the way the storm pasted us, this could be worst. we must stay focus and positive in other to move on, we need to work as teams to strenthen the process of moving to a better life. we need to stop complaining about the grouth of other countries and strive to develope our country, we need to take what has happened as an example to change where is needed, our homes are the first place to start then concentrate on the wider areas. we are one people, one nation, under one flag,no other country will come to clean our yeard for us, what we do is for the development for our children. let us pray stay positive, together, willing, helping, and focus.

The Prime Minster made mention of another media house giving wrong information. I suspected it was right on “Q”. As usual anything, any opportunity to paint Dominica in a negative way. Time will tell.

You see the folks have no responsibility for bringing the country back to normalcy. They do not have any responsibility to respond to the people’s needs. It is Skerrit who has that responsibility. So do not mind what has to say. Rather, see how Skerrit will respond. Expect too, that will turn it “wrong” too.

Q is right on que!thank God for this radio station.People are able to voice their opinions and concerns and that’s what Democracy is about! freedom of speach. We can always agree to disagree, not the head of your coumtry telling you to shout the hell up!!
